Rockport isn’t your average beach town, so it’s only right that this charming 2-bedroom, 1-bath home would follow suit. A 500-year-old specimen tree twists and turns above a boardwalk patio in the yard while inside, coastal touches meet rustic furnishings for an interior as unique as Rockport itself.

Tall ceilings and vast skylights mimic the feeling of an open-air coastal estate. Driftwood chic details like paneled wooden walls and a sandy color scheme give this vacation rental all of the elegance of an upscale beach home and all of the style and comfort of a breezy getaway.

From highly rated restaurants to pristine beaches to historic natural sights, Rockport offers memorable experiences for every vacationer – all of it just a short drive away.

INSIDE THE HOUSE

Enter into a sun-drenched living area where two love seats decorated in coastal patterns, a rocking chair and a chair with ottoman are arranged around a large flat-screen TV. Hand-painted artwork hangs from a boardwalk accent wall. Adjacent, a tastefully tropical dining area seats 4 around a modern table, and 2 at the breakfast bar.

A cozy kitchen is equipped with all of the necessary appliances and overlooks the stunning backyard, where there’s plenty of seating in the shade of large live oaks. Tables, a large charcoal grill and warm Texas weather are all you need for casual BBQ nights.

An airy master bedroom features rattan décor, coastal hues and artwork that portrays the area’s rich history to truly encapsulate the Rockport experience. You’ll awake each morning in a queen-sized bed to abundant natural sun from a large skylight above. The second bedroom offers hand-drawn artwork and rattan futon. Both share a spacious tropical themed bathroom.

THE LOCATION

Slip away to immaculate beaches where laidback vacationers and locals catch waves and unwind in the sun. Just down the street from this home, a long fishing pier is where you’ll reel in speckled trout and monster bull redfish.

Immerse yourself in the area’s culture and history at the Texas Maritime Museum or Rockport Art Center. Or spend time in the great outdoors at Goose Island State Park, home to a legendary 1,000 year old Coastal Live Oak.

Near Rockport Harbor, you’ll find eclectic shops full of seashore treasures, classic comfort food at JJ’s Little Bay Café and local seafood and artwork at Latitude 28°02'.

Wonderful
It was so nice and cozy inside and outside. Spent the mornings outside drinking coffee under the beautiful tree. Walked every day. Talked to everyone such a friendly warm area. Loved the beach and downtown area. Our pup loved it all too. People were happy to greet us even in the stores with our dog. Loved all of it.

Good Time Good Place
There is nothing wrong with this property or location so lets start with that. Location is good with a 1015 minute walk to old town. The only item I would seriously change would be the automated lock on the door. As a fellow VRBO host for over 8 years with a popular waterfront home, we never had an issue with the combination lock box and a set of keys inside. What was our experience with this electric key pad? Let me set the experience for you. 4 over 50 eyes trying to get numbers to lite up, then having to find property management messages with a stupid 10 diget code, while getting devoured by mosquitoes the size of B-52' and needing desperately to use a bathroom. So, in short, I hate electric lock access! The house itself was great. TV did not work entire time, have a feeling it is the satellite out of alignment. Still would return without hesitation, I would just remove the front door should that lock still be on it!

Old but cute
Needs lots of work. Floor boards are loose in a LOT of places and could cause a fall for older people in one place. Floor in kitchen and bedroom in front of bed was sticky. Shower head definitely needs to be replaced. Skylight in bedroom needs something to keep the sun from shining in your face while in the bed. BED definitely needs to be replaced, very old spring mattress and it makes a lot of noise!! Water filter in kitchen needs to be replaced, blinking red light indicates replacement. Had a real hard time getting in with the code being so long. Entrance to driveway off the road is very hard to get in with a car it does scrape the front or rear of the vehicle unless you go in it at an angle or have a truck. Over all it is an ok house, a little pricey and they don't offer any discounts for Veterans. Yard is supposed to be mowed on Wednesday and we got there Friday, didn't look like anything had been done. Mosquitoes were real bad at front door. Outside house facing needed to be replaced and painted. Internet wouldn't connect to tv no matter what you did and there is only one very small tv and not a smart tv in the living room. Internet speed is poor and very slow. Location is good and close to the shops and food.

Cozy & Comfortable
The house was well maintained, close to downtown for shopping, eating, and within walking distance to the bay. We also enjoyed the large fenced backyard for our fur baby. We highly recommend staying at Driftwood Chic if you’re planning a trip to Rockport. Be sure to visit the ferry at Port Aransas to visit Aransas Pass at the Gulf of Mexico, the beach is beautiful! Oyster fest was a blast
