We absolutely loved this cute cabin near the beach. It was the perfect stay for a few nights in Douglas with comfortable beds and beach outing essentials. It was an easy check-in process and I would highly recommend this listing to friends in the future.
Perfect location! Great for our short get away! The screened in porch was amazing place to relax. Loved being able to walk to the beach and to coffee in the morning. Very peaceful.
A perfect spot when you want to be by the beach. The beds were comfortable, the screened in porch was amazing, and the kitchen was just right. There are plenty of towels for when you want to walk to the beach. Beautiful and tranquil setting. Great communicating with the host. Highly recommend!
This is a wonderful cabin in a great neighborhood. Convenient location; short walk to Douglas Beach, and short drive to multiple areas in nearby Saugatuck and Fennville. The cabin is very clean and we love staying there and enjoying meals on the porch.
Comfy beds, Tv, internet (that works) & easy walk to the beach. Will stay again!

Nice cabin in a good area. Close to the beach and town. Area was very quiet and family friendly. Great screened in porch. Host was easy to work and communicate with. Would rent again.
This is a charming cottage with all the necessary modern amenities for a lovely stay in Douglas. It is extremely close to water/public beach access and is tucked away in the quiet woods. We enjoyed the screened in porch where we sat and listened to squirrels and wildlife. Highly recommend for a cozy getaway.
we loved the 1930s cabin and the trees and watching the deer feed each morning and evening!!!
very clean and cared for cabin! Thank you for angreat stay!
The place was very clean and welcoming. Erica is an excellent host, and the location is perfect. You can walk right to the beach and it’s a short drive downtown. Highly recommend.
We stayed over Labor weekend for our wedding anniversary. The area was so cute, quieter than busy Saugatuck with the most amazing sunsets a short walk away at Douglas beach!
The cabin is a little smaller than we expected but very comfortable, peaceful and in a very nice location. The screened-in porch was fantastic and where we spent the most time. A lot of fun things to do and places to go nearby, including the beach and beautiful walking paths.
Ideal location walking distance to beach and a few shops/reataurants. Best part is screened in porch with wildlife (deer) visits and sounds of the lake. Old cabin, but good furniture.
Initial impression was very positive. The property had a great lock that made entrance secure and easy. Furniture was comfortable, clean, and in good condition. We had a few questions at the beginning and we had an immediate answer and response from the host. Staying here was a part of a very good vacation.
We loved this cozy cottage! Clean; very well equipped cottage; beautiful, clean grill; lovely screened in summer porch/room. Everything was great. We made some wonderful memories here. Close to the beach, saw deer every morning & evening, lovely sunsets. I highly recommend this property & Erica was great to work with.

About the host

Our family has been visiting the Saugatuck/Douglas, Michigan area most of our life. We hold a million sepia-colored memories in our heads. As Chicagolanders, we escape suburbia for the dunes, beaches, and woodlands of the Lake Michigan shoreline every chance we get.
We enjoy the area so much that I thought others should too. At a time when the town was still quiet and homey, I started on a journey of building true vacation destinations that are unique from anything you would find in suburbia, true cabins that drive relaxation and escape.
With no appetite for owning or managing rundown, churn-n-burn properties, we prefer to focus on high-end vacation homes with incredible amenities. In order to deliver value to our guests, the properties themselves became more than places to stay, they became experiences. Providing an experience is a combination of a unique property, different than anything our guests have at home, quality in-house amenities, unique exterior amenities such as location, and on-property activities such as jacuzzi, pools, and fire features. Finally, the experience is topped off with special treatment and high-attention from the management company (quite literally, us).
Someone once told me, “After kids, you don’t go on vacation. You visit places.” I didn’t want that for Lakewood Lux. I wanted to make each property family-friendly with the comforts of home. We splurge on high-end items like kitchen appliances, pots and pans, serveware, linens and towels to ensure a guest experience that is like or better than home. Then, we make sure all the amenities are maintained by professionals. Folks work hard to earn their vacations, and I wanted to ensure their visits were pleasantly clean, comfortable, and fun, because that’s what I would want.
Revel in The Lux.
