Beautiful 1 bedroom house with Private Back Porch & Fire pit, Clawfoot Bathtub/Shower Combo, TV & WiFi very good for Streaming, & located far enough out in the country for both peace of mind but still close enough to Loren’s & Waco to Order Delivery. The Hosts Mark & Therese are very attentive to to Your Needs!I want to come back here on the weekend with my wife so we can both enjoy time away from the city.
Was the perfect property and location for us. Very well maintained property in quiet rural area. Quick 10 minute drive to shopping and restaurants. Enjoyed our stay very much.
My husband and I decided at the last minute to find/book a Vrbo for the Texas/UGA game this last weekend and found this cute little cottage. It was comfortable and cute and fit exactly what we needed. Therese and her husband Mark were so hospitable and sweet and their dogs on property are so friendly. We highly recommend booking this cottage and would definitely stay again.
The absolute cutest place! Super cozy, very clean and the best “security” haha. The pup was my daughters favorite part of our trip! The owner brought over fresh cut flowers for me. We can not wait to come back! Loved our stay.
This was such a lovely place to stay! Felt very private and clean. Decoration is just super cute, we couldn't stop looking at all the darling details! Check in process was very simple. Owners are very kind and really went the extra mile to give us a great stay while still respecting our space. I highly recommend this place, my friends and I can't wait to go back!
Great place to stay outside of Waco. My sister and I wanted to take a girls trip and this was the perfect place! We especially loved how friendly their dog was and how many special touches the owners added to the place. I didn't notice that the listing doesn't have a TV but that didn't matter much since we were so exhausted after we got back. The owners also responded as soon as I would send a question. Definitely recommend!
We were looking for a weekend escape, to unplug and disconnect. The Bluebonnet is just that place! It’s a cute little place, the decor is laid back, backyard is relaxing! It is far enough or close enough to Waco that you can enjoy either option! I highly recommend it for a couple that is looking for retreat! The owner was easy to contact and willing to help you with any questions!
The Inn is very quaint and peacefully located. It’s a bit out from Waco but not totally remote. Just far enough for quiet, yet close enough to be in the Waco center or at Baylor within 15 minutes.
The place was very clean and welcoming. We especially enjoyed the friendly Lab who greeted us warmly. Communication with the property owners was wonderful. We would definitely stay again.
The cottage worked well for us. It was clean and comfortable, and placed in an agrarian area. Yet, it is still close enough to make access to Waco events easy. Therese and her two dogs made us feel welcomed and at home.
Neat, clean, orderly, and well-equipped. Decor throughout was beautifully done. The owners are very nice and kept in contact to make sure everything was to our liking. I would recommend this property to anyone, you won’t be disappointed!
Mark and Therese are warm and helpful hosts, and knowledgeable about the area. The cottage was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Great location - quiet yet just 12 minutes from Magnolia and the Silos, and the Baylor University campus. The cottage was charming and had everything we needed for a comfortable, relaxing stay. We plan to stay here again.

About the host
Hosted by Therese Roberts
We have been married 32 years and LOVE working together on projects that create inviting community spaces. We both have a passion for hospitality and really like meeting new people. When we are not working together around the property, (the garden, landscaping, and fixing allll the things), we are either visiting with Mark's parents (who live next door), catching up with one of our four adult children, helping out at church, or biking/running/ walking/ swimming wherever and whenever possible. We love to read, listen to music, practice our two step, and spend time with friends.
Why they chose this property
We bought this property in 2019 when Mark's parents were ready to sell and move next door to family. We loved the great old trees, the small house in a large park like setting, and the perfect out building we envisioned as a guest house/cottage. Mark took the little building down to the studs in places; he added windows, took out doors, built the kitchen cabinets, created the rustic bathroom, enclosed the hallway between the bath and living space (it was initially a muddy walk to the bathroom) and so much more. He was the brains behind the red refrigerator which became the inspiration piece for much of the decoration decisions in the kitchenette/lounge area.
What makes this property unique
The Bluebonnet Inn is a private little get-away in a country setting. Just look around--our neighbors have goats, sheep, cows, horses, ponies, and chickens. And even though the guest house is entirely private and separate from the main house, sharing the same property allows us to do what we do best--offer warm hospitality to our customers.
