The house is exactly as shown, with no surprises (well there’s the rutted driveway, but say…). We had a great couple of days celebrating a milestone birthday, sitting on the front veranda, grilling out back and thoroughly enjoying the absolute quiet. Very fortunate to have found this little gem!
This was the perfect place to stay. Adorable little house, comfy beds great kitchen very cute vibes and beautiful views not far from Yucca Valley not far from Pioneer town highly recommend.
This is our families second time staying at Cheryl’s home and we love this property. Very clean, warm, comfortable, and beautiful inside and out. The home and surrounding property is the total vacation- my young sons love seeing the plants and animals and hiking the surrounding area out back. They’ve named all the little birds that visit out front.
The property certainly had a 360 degree view of the area, wildlife included road runners, several desert hares (big ears!), barking coyotes in the distance, and lots of quail. Wonderfully quiet for sleep with windows open (needed no AC or heat) and sitting on the patio enjoying the mornings and evenings while stepping out to view the dark sky. We also enjoyed just walking in back of the house (a Preserve, if I understood Cheryl correctly). By chance we were departing and at the bottom of the driveway as Cheryl and her husband were returning so we chatted a while. Cheryl shared some of the history of her property, very interesting! The house has 2 roomy bedrooms (one especially roomier), well stocked kitchen, dining table and a table and swing on the patio. Outstanding 5 days!
This house had just what I look for in a desert retreat: cozy, somewhere between “vintage” and “rustic”, and well equipped with all the basic necessities. Bonus points for the quiet location and a great hiking opportunity that’s literally accessible from the back yard. Cheryl even provided a big blanket especially for our dogs, and they felt right at home. Would love to stay again if we get a chance.
We absolutely loved our stay. When I look for places to stay I am looking for quiet secluded places. This place was top notch in this regard. Close to town yet super quiet. Definitely would stay again.
Home is roomy, comfortable and clean. Surrounded by open space and nature, it was a lovely retreat to come back to after busy days in Joshua Tree National Park and Big Morongo birding area.
