About the host
Hosted by Meredith & Josh

Hygge House is a special place and a retreat for our family that we like to share with other families. We bought the house in late 2021 as a way for us to get away and into the mountains to enjoy the nature and wildlife that we love as a family.
We're a family of 4, now with 2 teenagers. We love hiking and snowshoeing the many trails in Green Mountain National Forest and the surrounding area, skiing at Stratton Mountain and Mount Snow, paddling on Grout Pond, and enjoying the peace and quiet of our 4 private acres, feeling hidden from the world.
Why they chose this property
Enjoy all of Hygge House and it's 4 private wooded acres. Set back away from the road, it is truly a private escape where you can enjoy the peace and solitude of the forests of the Southern Green Mountains, whether from the giant picture windows, from an Adirondack chair on the huge stone patio or from atop the treehouse in the backyard.
What makes this property unique
Enjoy the peaceful privacy of over 4 wooded acres set back from the street. You won't see the road or any neighbors. The house is on a paved road with a 500 foot gravel driveway, common in Vermont. Just down the street, there is access to beautiful trails through the Green Mountain National Forest for hiking, snowshoeing, or cross-country skiing that don't appear on maps but we'll share with you.
The house is located on a paved road, set back over 500 feet on a wooded lot. The driveway is packed gravel and easily navigable by cars, SUVs, or trucks alike. In the winter, the driveway is plowed and sanded as needed. The driveway has a loop and there is plenty of space to park your vehicles and any trailers for your big toys. Just be sure not to ride those big toys on our property, please. You'll feel like you're staying out in the woods (because you are) but only 8-12 minutes from Mount Snow and Stratton Mountain and the many restaurants and shops in Dover, Stratton, and Wilmington. There are markets and country stores located as close as 3 minutes from the house so that you can buy food or head to town for a meal or takeout.
