Custom built West Glacier cabin with private Salt Water Spa
Beautiful crafted Montana cabin with fantastic Mountain View’s set this place as a retreat getaway. Complete your vacation with this “Montana” outdoor experience. With over 2100 sq ft of living space placed on six acres of old growth larch and fir trees, this family homestead land is only one mile from the Glacier National Park entrance.
Enjoy evening campfires and the reason they call this the Big Sky Country! Hiking, biking, rafting, golfing and fishing are almost right out the front door. (This property is not on a river or a lake as described by VRBO due to recent AI descriptions. VRBO notified us that this cannot be changed. Our proximity is minutes away from lakes, a river and a golf course. See map location). After an active day of fun, relax in the newly installed open air Hot Tub.
We are one half mile from public access on the famed Middle Fork River and The West Glacier Golf Course. You can bike into the park to Apgar from the property on bike trails. (4 mountain bikes provided) or have a close base camp for the many scenic hikes within Glacier National Park.
This private cabin is equipped with conveniences of satellite television and WIFI while maintaining the cabin feel with a craftsman like detail to attention. Log beds and end tables crafted from trees harvested on the property truly make it one of a kind.
Enjoy an evening barbecue on the spacious front deck while enjoying the beauty of the mountains. Soak in the seven person Hot water Spa after a day of hiking from your private and personal elevated deck. Take an evening walk and catch a view of area wildlife or stay home or see them from the deck! Huckleberries have been in our front yard many years. Rafting, fishing and biking outfitters are close by.
Great Northern Railway chairman of the board Louis Hill dubbed the rugged mountains of Glacier National Park "America's Alps." Between 1909 and 1913, the Great Northern Railway constructed the Belton Chalet complex under Hills direction. It was the first of the Great Northern Railway's sprawling hotels to serve Glacier National Park created in 1910. (Montana Historical Society)
This is the origin of the current location of West Glacier. 100% of the community is within 1/4 mile of the railroad. Thousands of tourists descend on this sleepy little railway town every year and we are very proud of our friendly mountain home and family heritage. The Belton train depot is still active and tourists can be shuttled from the station to Park locations on the historic "Red Buses" that have been completely restored. Maybe consider reserving a tour through Glacier Park with the Red Bus tours, it has high reviews.
Local must see hotspots would include Flathead Lake, Bigfork, Whitefish Mountain and the Great Bear and Bob Marshall Wilderness areas.

We had a great time! The cabin was super clean, welcoming and has tons of charm! It’s a beautiful property … worth every penny! We had just the right amount of room for our family and everything we needed. We cooked big breakfasts, enjoyed the hot tub, saw wildlife, had a game night, and were able to recuperate from hiking in comfort! It’s also in the perfect location for visiting Glacier National Park. We stayed the week that Going-to-the-Sun Road opened, and being so close helped us navigate congestion at the West entrance. Richard and Shelly were great hosts … super attentive and easy to reach. We had zero issues. We hope to come back in the future!

This was a perfect house for our family to explore Glacier and surroundings! It was immaculately clean, spacious, beautiful Mountain Views and conveniently located, yet private. The home was beautifully decorated and well kept - better than we expected and more beautiful than the photos! I would highly recommend this home!

Loved being so close to Galcier entrance yet still having privacy. Many amenities provided by our attentive hosts. A lovely “cabin” that feels more like a well equipped home. Well done!!

Nice wooded location in West Glacier right outside of Glacier National Park. We loved that it was very convenient for access to park. House had everything we could need in amenities. Number and location of bedrooms and bathrooms suited our family very well.

We are so glad you and your family enjoyed our cabin. Please come back again.
It would be hard to find a more convenient location for visiting the west side of Glacier National Park and the various communities around West Glacier. Super easy access to the park, great property. The lack of a normal shower in the main floor bathroom is a bit different, but we knew that going in.
Richard and Shelly are awesome hosts!

Thanks again for staying with us, so glad you had a great time . Looking forward to next year we have added Starlink Internet access with speeds up to 200 mbps. Also, we are remodeling the main floor bathroom and adding a full shower option. Have a great winter and thanks again!
We have stayed at dozens of VRBO’s around the globe but none as wonderful as this beautiful cabin in the woods. It is meticulously maintained and was the perfect size for our family of 5. It could not be more perfectly located so close to the entrance of West Glacier. The owners make you feel welcome from the moment you book their VRBO. Their attention stays throughout your visit.

This property is spectacular in every way. LOCATION. Cleanliness, pure charm, beautiful interior wood, private lot, absolute communication with the owner, special “extras”… I can go on and on. I felt blessed these owners share their place.
We celebrated our 25th anniversary trip at this exceptional cabin in the woods with our two best friends. Everything was perfect. Clean, convenient, comfortable. Owners were very helpful with questions, helping us enjoy a perfect vacation. Highly recommended.

First time to Glacier. Could not have asked for a better host, accommodation, cleanliness, location. The cabin was perfectly stocked with everything we needed! The Tyrees went way above and beyond to make us feel welcomed! Definitely recommend this place!

Thanks again for staying with us and for the great review!
We rented this house to visit Glacier National Park. It is located right in the heart of everything on the West Entrance. You can get in and out of park very easily. There is a cute little village you can bike or drive to very quickly with restaurants, shops and activities. Most of your rental stuff is there as well including rafting and fishing. Also a beautiful golf course right down the road.

The cabin was located in an area that had the feel of being away from everything. However it was within walking distance of West Glacier Village. We enjoyed walking with the grandchildren to the village each evening. We saw deer at the cabin. We drove into Whitefish and Hungry Horse several times. We are planning on selecting this cabin again.
This property was perfect for our family of six - two adults and four kids ages 4-9. We loved the seclusion and privacy it offered but really appreciated how close it was to the gate to Glacier National Park! The property is really beautiful and we loved the views off the back porch. We have stayed at a lot of VRBOs/AirBnB’s and this property was probably the most well stocked of any we’ve stayed at. We cooked quite a few meals there and they had everything we needed. The cabin was extremely clean and comfortable and appliances were new and easy to use. Richard and Shelly were wonderful hosts!
This home was perfectly located for our family; close to west entrance of Glacier and easy access to head to Whitefish, Kalispell, Columbia Falls, etc. Everything you need is there at cabin and in a wooded area with gorgeous view, outdoor deck and fire pit area. You felt like you were in your own remote setting, but minutes to everything.Set up was nice to put the teens on the lower level where they had their own living area and shower. Owner was exceptional in passing on information, tips and left a cell phone if we needed. Wonderful area to spend in Montana. We look forward to returning in future.

Thank you so much, it was a pleasure to have you here.
We had a spectacular time visiting Glacier National Park, and it started with checking into this wonderful cabin. It is located perfectly for a GNP trip, and in a very quiet and peaceful location. It was exactly as described and very clean. It was the most equipped VRBO we have ever seen. The owners think of all kinds to make your stay, from the welcome basket packed with goodies. All kinds of kitchen accessories and small appliances. The hot tub was pristine. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms had toiletries and plenty of towels. A young buck walked by one day and a die with two fawns walked by another day. From the back deck there is a lovely view of the mountains. The bikes are in great shape and a nice touch though we didn’t get to use them as we were so busy hiking, riding horses, trekking with llamas, boating, swimming, and generally exploring the whole area. The owners were very responsive and the attention they give to the cabin to make your stay comfortable is the best we have ever had.
The house was beautiful! Very well stocked. They thought of everything. Very clean. Gorgeous view.
We were disappointed because on the listing it says on the water, on the lake, kayak and that is the reason I chose this property over some others we were looking at and it is not on the water. The property owners couldn’t have been nicer answering my endless questions and making sure we were comfortable. They had a thorough and helpful welcome packet and checked in with us.
Overall, it was wonderful!

About the host

We built this home in 2005 as I get away for weekends and especially to enjoy the hiking, biking, cross country skiing and kayaking available in this area. Our family has grown and moved on and now it is time to share this beautiful place with others.
Why they chose this property
It is a wonderful location with so much to see and do.
What makes this property unique
A very private location that gets you away from the crowds. Being very close to the entrance of Glacier National Park, you are not having to commute far to enjoy its many beauties and activities.
