The cabin was adorable. It was so cozy and exactly what we needed to recharge our batteries for the holidays. The owners are above and beyind amazing, Johnny came out all on his own after work in the freezing cold to make sure that the hot tub was going to be good for us! The whole place shows how much they care about their guests and we are definitely going to visit again!

Nice little cabin close to Cook Forest. Fairly quiet minus the nearby sawmill. Host was wonderful, gave some local information, responds quickly, very easy check in and out.

So relaxing and even nicer in person! My only complaint would be that I wish the dog poop was picked up in the yard, but it was extremely clean on the inside!

The cabin is very cute. The only problem I had with it was it does not have a true hot tub. It is a literal galvanized heated tub. Cute idea but it was not what I was expecting. It was not a jetted hot tub. I felt mislead. It would have been more like sitting in a bathtub outside. We did not use that feature. Other than that it was a nice place.

Mother daughter road trip

Brittany was a very good host. We stayed in one of her lovely cabins. Brittany went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The gigantic Sasquatch on the property as well as the axe throwing made our stay even more enjoyable. Everything in the cabin was provided from shampoo to a multiple spice rack. The property was beautiful and well maintained.

We were supposed to check in at 3. But we didn't get there until after 4. The cabin had not been cleaned at all. The owner finally came and didn't finish cleaning until after 6, We were supposed to have a key left on the kitchen counter but it wasn't there the owner said she would bring us the key later that night, She did not bring us a key until Saturday evening which meant we were not able to lock up the cabin when we went anywhere. We were also short a washcloth and some fire wood which she said she would bring over with the key which she never did either. I do have to say the cabin itself was very nice the service just just terrible.

Cute little cabin near Cooks Forest

Loved the proximity to Cooks Forest. There’s a nice brewery nearby as well. The cabin had cute touches and a fairly well equipped kitchen, however the interior doors do not stay closed themselves. Also it’s close to alumber mill that is a bit noisy.

Got the cabin for a proposal weekend getaway. The host kindly offered to help me set up some led candles around the hot tub (a 20 min task at most) to save me some setup time once I arrived. We spoke at the 3pm check in time. We arrived 3 hours later at 6pm and the host was there setting up which started the stay off awkward. 30 ins later she left and the weekend started. The next morning while in the shower all of the drains backed up along with the toliet. Water / sewage started coming up through the cracks of the hardwood floor in the living room. I contacted the host via text message, and hour later via email and another hour later via phone call. Eventually getting a response from the phone call. She stated that they would be over to fix the issues while we were out exploring the area. 3 hours later we returned and nothing had been done, and no one had been there. after another hour of waiting I received a text message stating that no one was coming, and we could either leave and cut the weekend short or move to another cabin (a shed shack with no privacy or hot tub) we obviously chose to leave clearly upset at the entire thing and the way it was handled. We did receive a fair refund.

We’re Johnny and Brittany, the hosts of Forest Mill Cabins. Johnny grew up in this area and knows all the hidden gems of the Allegheny National Forest—whether you’re looking for the best hiking trails, fishing spots, or just a quiet place to unwind. Brittany first came here on a nursing contract and quickly fell in love with both the area and the cabins.

Together, we’ve built Forest Mill Cabins into a welcoming getaway where guests can relax, explore, and create unforgettable memories. We take pride in offering clean, comfortable spaces, quick communication, and a genuine local touch. Our favorite part of hosting is helping each guest feel at home while experiencing the best our region has to offer.

Why they chose this property

Our cabins are tucked in an amazing location just off Rt 66, with quick access to town and only minutes from endless activities—wine tastings, hunting, fishing, hiking, or simply floating down the river after a day in the woods. The property has been recently renovated and is loaded with amenities designed for comfort and relaxation. We’re excited to share this space with you!

Note: A local sawmill operates nearby and may occasionally be heard Monday through Friday. We’ve adjusted pricing on those days to reflect that possibility, ensuring you still get great value for your stay.

What makes this property unique

Nestled between the Allegheny National Forest and the iconic Cook Forest, our cabins give you front-row access to some of the best trails, from easy strolls to challenging hikes. The area is a haven for hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling, and if water is more your style, the nearby Allegheny River offers swimming coves, canoe and raft rentals, and shuttle service for a full day of adventure.

Back in town, you’ll find all the essentials and a warm, close-knit community ready to welcome you. Marienville is truly a hidden gem, and we can’t wait to share it with you.
