This property is everything it was billed as. We wanted a relaxing getaway and we found it. The town was a bonus. Quiet, wonderful shops and great restaurants!We highly recommend it.

If you don't mind, please send us a message letting us know what doors/locks need work as no other guests have mentioned this to us; we will have that checked out right away. Although the cabin is fairly close to the road, most guests find the cabin a peaceful getaway; our price point reflects the location. We do hope you will visit us again. ~Al & Sue

We had a great stay! The cabin was nice and the owners have paid close attention to all the small details that make your stay memorable. The pond was incredible. The fishing was great! That was our main reason for booking the property. It did not disappoint! Very relaxed vacation and would definitely want to rent this place again. Thanks!

My husband and I had a very relaxing stay. The hot tub was great. Sitting by the pond was very nice. The furniture was comfortable and the WiFi was fast- we were able to stream movies and sports. The cabin is a short drive to Mt Vernon, where we visited a great little book store, coffee shop and microbrewery. We would definitely stay here again.

The cabin was a little to close to a busy street for our dogs. But it was still a nice stay.

We had a good time fishing and using the paddle boat and canoe. The cabin was very nice.

Comfy cozy cabin

We enjoyed our stay at Al and Sues cabin. The fishing and paddle boating were fun. The cabin and property are clean, comfortable and just a nice place to stay and relax. We would definitely stay here again.

Anniversary get away

We enjoyed our little get away and the pumpkin bread that was left for us was delicious. Very nice and relaxing. Loved the hot tub and spent a lot of time on the paddle boat..we will keep this place in mind for other get aways and family events

It's a really nice place. Thankfully I saw the reviews about the road traffic, since we both have conditions that are made worse by noise...so we came prepared w/ earplugs. Other than the noise from the road, it's a really nice getaway.

Comfy cabin close to everything!

We went for a girls weekend for my daughter's 18th birthday. We had a great time! We love the hot tub and the pond. Everything in downtown is so close and easy to access. We had a very comfortable stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Pretty spot near Mt. Vernon

We stayed 3 nights during a trip to Ohio for a college visit and enjoyed this charming cabin on a pretty little lake. The house worked great and the host was very helpful when we realized how late we would be getting in. Highly recommend!

Great Getaway

What a gem in Mount Vernon. We thoroughly enjoyed our Thanksgiving getaway at Shimmeringly Pond. Kitchen had everything we needed and did some serious relaxing. Will definitely be back. Hopefully the fish will be biting in warmer weather.

This place was sooo cute! Loved everything about it. They have a baddleboat and my son and nephew had a blast. They caught huge bass and catfish. They have a grill, fire pit and a nice dock to sit on. If we had warmer weather it would have been perfect. There is a pretty busy road out front. The hosts were very responsive and they leave a nice welcome gift. We will be back when the weather warms up because the boys are obsessed! Thanks for having us!

Shimmering Pond Cabin

This was our second stay with Al and Sue. We had stayed in their other cabin last year. We loved everything about our stay and the property. We are definitely going to book another stay with them. They are the best property owners we have had out of all the VRBO properties we have rented. Ten out of ten!
