About this property

Hot Tub, Game room, Fire Pit, Unlimited Hot Water, with stunning mountain view!

Welcome to your Home away from Home, hiking and biking trails abound a short walk from this cozy attached modern home.

After a day of exploring, there's no better way to unwind than in our private hot tub. You'll soak your cares away while sipping on a glass of your favorite beverage.

This home was built in 2017 as a Short Term Vacation Rental. Four bedrooms and 2.75 bathrooms (Unlimited Hot Water) built around the needs of traveling friends, families, and adventure groups. Situated just ½ mile from the Tongass National Forest Mendenhall Glacier Park entrance. Both Upstairs bathrooms come equipped with dual sinks, tubs, and showers. The downstairs bathroom has a shower as well. Now one would think that with all those showers it is a short matter of time before you run out of hot water. Knowing that we would want to accommodate larger groups of people we installed a high capacity-on-demand hot water heater. So regardless of how many showers or faucets are running simultaneously, you will never face the discomfort of a cold shower.
Downstairs: 9 Foot ceilings with a broad entryway and plenty of room for all your jackets and footwear. The Garage has been converted into a game room equipped with a Ping Pong table, dartboard, giant jenga, giant connect four, and many other activities for group bonding. The Bear Cub Room has a custom built-in triple bunk bed and play platform.
Covered Back Patio with French doors leading out and a built-in Fire Pit overlooking Thunder Mountian. And a 6-person hot tub.
Bedroom 1 King Size Bed with walk-in Closet and ensuite bathroom complete with dual sinks and oversized soaking tub.
Bedroom 2, bunk bed has a full-size mattress and a twin as well as a roll-out twin trundle underneath.
Bedroom 3 Glacier Suite, Queen-sized bed with Forrest-themed artwork and filtered view of the glacier.
Bedroom 4 Cub Room, Tripple bunk bed with platform possible mattress pad. Charging ports at each bed as well as small knooks for storage of personal items.

A lovely stay!
We truly enjoyed our time at this VRBO. It was spacious and it very easily fit the 6 of us that were in our group. The unit was clean, and in a nice quiet location. The hot tub was an awesome bonus, especially after a day of skiing!

Family gathering
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful house. The host was more than accomodating and was quick to respond to any messages that I sent. The house was very clean and everything was just like the pictures posted. It was large enough for all of us to spread out and yet tons of room to be together. I would highly recommend this home!

Fun experience
Our family get together of 9 thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day stay. Jeremiah was very helpful and informative with activity locations including berry picking. He was very responsive to our special needs and questions. We liked that the house was near the Mendenhall Glacier and outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown. It is centrally located for the hiking and picnicking we wanted to do. Yet close enough to downtown for organized tours. It was an added surprise to find firewood, s’mores fixings and coffee pods available. Would definitely recommend Jeremiah’s VRBO.

Host profile image
I am a lifelong resident of Juneau Alaska with a passion for travel and the great outdoors. I am an avid wild foods forager (S.E. Alaska provides an amazing variety), amateur photographer, Private Pilot, scuba diver, mountain biker (fantastic trails within ½ mile of Adventure Base), skier, kayaker, paddleboarder, boater, dirt biker, budding paraglider, amateur naturalist, and above all proud father of two wonderfully wild Alaskan girls. My travels have immersed me into the cultures of more than 40 countries, however, every time I return home from a long adventure, I am humbled by the natural beauty that surrounds us here in S.E. Alaska and regardless of the weather. I am excited to share my S.E. Alaskan home with you and ready and willing to help with adventure planning and exploring. I also have included quality rain jackets for 5 adults and rain suits for children of a wide range of ages. To help you gear up and enjoy our natural beauty regardless of the weather.
I’ve jet skied the waters and Rivers of S.E. Alaska in some of the rougher weather Alaska can muster. Dove with Ginormous Alaskan Bull Sealions (NOT on Purpose). Swam in our glacier waters and picnicked on top of an Iceberg (trying out a new drysuit). Flown our sprawling glacier Icefield landscapes at sunset. Paddle Boarded to the face of the Mendenhall Glacier (not recommended for safety reasons). I’ve chased bears away from our family chicken coup armed with nothing more than a bb gun and a Loyal Labrador. Explored old, secluded Lighthouses, goldrush era mines, and spent countless hours on my hands and Knees hunting the famously elusive Nagoon Berries (they make unforgettable jellies and Cordials). I’m a well-rounded 3rd generation S.E. Alaskan that loves and respects our Home on the Panhandle of Alaska. I would love the opportunity to share it with you.
