This beautiful single-family home located in San Diego's prized historic district of Mission Hills is available to rent much of November & December 2025, with many weeks still available in April & May 2026. Please check Calendar for current availability. Located at the Heart of San Diego's Uptown - this bright and airy customized home offers style and privacy for a family of 3 - 4 or two adult couples traveling together! A well-behaved pet is also welcome. The dramatic Open Floorplan boasts vaulted beamed ceilings, a switch-activated gas fireplace, comfortable Pottery Barn and Italian leather furnishings. and gleaming hardwood floors. The open Kitchen is stocked with high-end appliances and cooking tools for the chef-enthusiast. There are 2 bedrooms, separated by private hallways, each bedroom with a high quality King bed and accompanying bathroom with walk-in tiled showers. Enjoy climate-controlled mini-split air-conditioning or thermostatically controlled heating by room, plus the cozy warmth of the Living Room's gas fireplace. Out front - relax under the pergola adjacent the stone driveway which provides one on-site parking space. At the east side of the house - slide glass doors open to enjoy a very private deck terrace - an ideal spot for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. All of the communications were timely and very helpful. The place was as described and very comfortable. Kent is a great property manager and gave us a nice tour/intro to the place. We had enough space and all of the things we needed for our stay in San Diego. We would certainly stay here again if it's available!!

Great location for greater San Diego

My wife and daughter and I spent a week in this great home. It is exactly as described. It was a perfect location to enjoy all that San Diego has to offer and is 15-20 minutes to just about anywhere you want to go with very little traffic. We would definitely stay here again!

Great stay

Perfect property for our trip to San Diego. Kent was a fine host and very accommodating. Met us at the house for an early check in and provided all the info we needed for local eats and treats. The house was exactly like the listing and had all we needed. Very centrally located for all our sightseeing and exploring. Would certainly use this place again if we ever visit the area again.

The Good Life

Very quiet, comfortable, ample dishes, utensils, appliances, nice deck to enjoy wine from the Vons (amazing selection) 2 blocks away, along with cheese from the cheese shop in walking distance. Or enjoy the donut shop across from Vons. Kent was very responsive. All-in-all an outstanding base from which to enjoy San Diego. Or just to hang out.

Perfect Stay

Our family of four adults visited San Diego to attend my nephew's Marine graduation. The home was perfectly located, so we could quickly go back and forth from the airport and events at MCRD, but it was also a short drive to Torrey Pines/La Jolla. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to make and enjoy meals on the back patio or dining area. It was also less than a 10-minute walk to restaurants, coffee, etc. The home itself was clean, comfortable, thoughtfully arranged, and beautifully decorated. What a gem!

can this place be anymore perfect?

Wow! We so loved the Eagle house and it was just what we needed to find rest and relaxation. Kent is a wonderful host and met us at the property. The house is beautifully apportioned and the deck is so wonderful. The deck overlooks one of the many San Diego urban canyons and serves as an extension of the home. We loved it and highly recommend this home to anyone who loves Mission Hills, a beautiful home, a lovley deck and their rental close to stores, restaurants, attractions or..., just a place to relax. this home has it all!

Hidden Gem

I can’t say enough about this property beginning with meeting Kent for the check-in and introduction to the home and ending with our easy checkout. The front room is bright and open with a great view. The home was immaculate with a well stocked kitchen that was perfect for our two week stay and the nights we didn’t want to eat out. The 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms make an excellent set up for two couples or a small family. Eating out was easy as there are excellent restaurants within walking distance or an easy 10-15 minute drive to other districts. Vons is a quick 5 minute walk. Balboa Park, La Jolla Coastal Walk and Pacific Beach are all a 15 minute drive away. This is a hidden gem and better than pictured. This isn’t available very often, so if it is, grab it!

Beautiful House and Great Stay

We were in SD celebrating our 10th anniversary. My husband is from here and we know the area well but hadn't stayed in Mission Hills before. This home is amazing! We loved the large windows and tons of natural light and everything is tastefully decorated. Bedrooms and living room are comfortable with AC and vaulted ceilings. Bathrooms are wonderful. One bathroom has a rain shower and is newer-- the other is nautical and super cute. We loved the back deck overlooking the hills and you could see the planes coming in (but not really hear them). There is lots of light and plenty of room to stretch out. We liked having a dedicated parking space and the home's entry is gorgeous (a long covered corridor). Things to note: there is no grass on the actual property-- just walk a few feet to access some on the street (we had our two small dogs with us so needed this). The home was even better than the listing showed and we would look forward to staying here again!

A chalet with all the amenities!

My family and I very much enjoyed staying here. The house is extremely well stocked and has any cooking utensil you could possibly need. The house was clean and quiet. Also, all of the household items are nicely maintained and even labeled. Thanks for a great stay!

Wonderful location and beautiful home.

Nice layout. Great set-up for 2 couples traveling togegher, we each had our own mini suites. Kitchen is well stocked. Great location, lots of places within walking distance for dinig and groceries. Easy access from the airport.Kent met us when we arrived and went over someghings. He was also helpful with suggestions for places to go.Would stay here again.

The house is extremely comfortable in every way. Furniture/Bed are good. Kitchen/Bath are well stocked. We were there in March & the weather was quite cool so we had the fireplace on every night. Made the living area toasty!Part of the attraction is the quiet neighborhood the house is in. In walking distance of groceries & restaurants of all kinds. Close to Balboa Park. Other attractions are not far via freeway. Property manager was very helpful in orienting us to the area. I can recommend this house without hesitation!

Beautiful and restful

Clean, beautiful, peaceful house in a quiet neighborhood, perfect for sitting on the deck (bring or buy mosquito repellent in summer.) The house is lovely and was a great fit for two couples. Clean with many amenities, close to many restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance. Short drive to downtown. Kent, the manager, was very helpful and responded quickly when needed. Only room for one car but that worked for us. Would highly recommend.

Guests love its Uptown central location, the high beamed ceilings, open floor plan, and its very private dining terrace with views! The European owners purchased this property as a second home, dividing their time between Germany and San Diego. They are pleased to offer their special home on Eagle Street as a short term rental six months a year. Extensively remodeled, this custom home has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Each bedroom has a separate hallway, with comfortable King Bed, and an adjacent bathroom w/tiled shower. The spacious Great Room offers an L shaped Italian leather Sectional and Pottery Barn Recliner, Smart TV w/full cable & streaming options, dining table with seating for 6, and open Kitchen with high-end appliances. On a cool night -- enjoy the switch-activated gas fireplace near dining area. On a warm afternoon flip on the Air Conditioning, or open tall sliding glass doors to the private deck with peaceful canyon views. It's an ideal spot for morning coffee or evening meal after an active day at the zoo or nearby beaches. Why they chose this property

This is a custom built pride-of-ownership home. The owners have upgraded it extensively since purchasing it 10+ years ago. They divide their time between Germany and San Diego, but are always delighted to return to their San Diego "home" on Eagle Street. They love walking to nearby food markets and restaurants like the Red Door, the local ice cream shop on Goldfinch St, or the gourmet cheese shop on Washington Avenue. There are outstanding food markets 2 blocks away, and on Sunday one can visit the huge Farmer's Produce Market in nearby Hillcrest. This prized Uptown location can't be beat! Balboa Park, the Zoo, Downtown, Little Italy, and the Airport can be reached by Uber or a rental car in just minutes.

What makes this property unique

When a central location and a detached single family house are desired - this is the property to choose! Ideal for 2 couples or a family of 3 or 4 as there are two separate bedroom w/bath wings while the central Great room accommodates all comfortably -- someone cooking in the open kitchen, someone working at a desk, others relaxing on the sectional or lounging outside on the terrace.
