We stayed here the end of the week of July 4th for 3 nights. It was 2 couples with 3 boys under 3 years old and one teenager. The house was the perfect set up for the two families. It was stocked with everything you need and the location was great! I would certainly stay here again :)
Could not be happier with our stay! We were two families with kids. Plenty of room for everyone. The kids stayed in the room with the two beds and it was much more spacious than I expected. We cooked dinner two nights and breakfast two mornings. Plenty of cookware etc. Also the way the house is situated on the property is just ideal. The trees provide a bit of privacy from the road and a lovely view from the living room. Also this place is in a great location. Near to Story Land. Grant’s Shop N Save was a great little grocer with good produce. Putt putt nearby as well as Diana’s Bath were also fun options with the kids.
Beautiful setting close to attractions. Lovely home.

The moment you walk in the door, you are overwhelmed with a very bad odor. The stairs are very stained, and the bathroom has so much dirt and dust in the vent it is a very bad first impression. Then the furniture seems sourced from free stuff in Facebook marketplace and the stains on the couches and chairs were disconcerting. And this is the positive remarks. The basement smells so bad it was disgusting. There was only one bedroom that was doable, and the bedspread and sheets were probably got at a Goodwill store. We immediately looked for somewhere else to stay but it was a very busy weekend and could not find anywhere else to stay or we would have!!!! I have used VRBO for many trips and this was the worst. I totally feel ripped off.
We stayed for the weekend with our adult kids to attend Storyland Nostalgia Night. The location was perfect, just a 2-minute drive to Storyland. The property is convenient to N. Conway shopping and hiking. It was clean and comfortable and the perfect size for the family with plenty of room to spread out. Highly recommend!
A really superb house for a group. The ‘great room’ with living, dining & cooking space all together meant easy joint activity. Definitely hope to return. Much less “equipped” with the basics (thinking coffee, condiments, etc.) than the 4 or 5 other houses we’ve rented in the area. Not a problem, but useful to know in advance.
The house was perfect! The layout with three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms were exactly what my multi generational family needed for our trip. The convenience to Storyland is unmatched and our hour drive to Santa’s village was so scenic it went by quickly. We wish we had stayed longer!
Ages 3-74 enjoyed our stay greatly. Great room including kitchen and dining room were awesome! We had somemores at the fire ring and enjoyed the experience. Close to Storyland and great restaurants. Jacuzzi needs tlc.
Very nice house. Comfortable beds. Great location. We loved our stay and look forward to staying again.. They really fix the hot tub, that would be such a bonus!
Stayed here with my family, two small kids. Had an issue with check-in and handled promptly with the owner (thank you!). Location is good, everything in decent working order. Similar to other reviews, some things are dated but it’s not bad. Bedrooms are partially sub grade so a bit of a basement-y smell to it; one room is more so than the other two. HVAC controls are upstairs so bedrooms can get quite chilly if it’s warm out but there’s space heaters and such if needed. Carpets can use a shampoo, same for the couch. Overall, decent place if you’re not sensitive to things being pristinely clean and if you don’t mind the bedroom setup.
Spent the weekend here with my wife and our two kids and some friends and their kid to go to storyland. The house was everything we needed. The place was clean and comfortable and the host was friendly and helpful. Only disappointing thing was that the area around the fire pit was overgrown so we couldn’t use that. Still highly recommend.
The set up was perfect. Couch and vacuums need updating. Not sure if cobwebs are common due to location (wooded area), house appeared clean with that exception. It would have been nice if the lawn would have been cut so the fire pit could be used. Outside could have been cleaned up a bit.
We were a group of ladies on a road trip. Stayed two nights. Lots of room. Comfortable beds. We did not use the kitchen so not sure about supplies or appliances. Check in was a breeze. The instruction book seemed to have some pages missing. There was no instructions about removing linen from beds. I emailed but we had already left the property when I was able to pull up the response (phone had poor service). Be aware there are no washcloths. So will need to bring your own. We tried to find a dollar store to purchase some but no luck with that. Also, trash is taken off site to a community dumpster. We could not open the dumpster. After 15 minutes trying to decide what to do, someone else came with his trash and a KEY to unlock it. I did not see a key in the unit but most likely overlooked it. We had already vacated the home so did not return to look for a key. Despite the little glitches would stay here again.
Property had fire pit with fire which we took advantage of. There was also a snow shovel and salt if needed. Check in was contactless and seamless. There was a notebook with instructions for the house along with suggestions for activities and dining out which was nice to have. The furniture was a little tired but got the job done. TV was cumbersome to figure out but instructions were in the notebook. One suggestion would be to message the Wi-Fi logins ahead of time in case there's a problem checking in and the individual does not have service at the house. This would allow someone to hook up to Wi-Fi and message through the platform. Overall everything was adequate.
Heads up on the light above the stove did not work and we never did get the tv working but that was OK we just watched some of the movies that were there.

Great Location, Not the Cleanest
This property was in the most amazing location for StoryLand! There’s a local grocery store and plenty of restaurants.
If you want that clean feeling, this house is not for you. Parts of the house (and 1 bedroom in particular) wreaked of cat urine. We couldn’t use that room. The comforters on all beds needed to be washed prior to sleeping because they looked and smelled dirty. The bathrooms were clean. All the rooms had much-needed heaters since the bedrooms are subterranean and were quite chilly at night. The outside deck was great. The kitchen had all you needed to cook, but the microwave was burnt or damaged on the outside, had no light, and there was very little light in the kitchen and even less over the stove or on the counters.
The owners were nice enough to let us switch our stay dates when we got Covid, but while we were there, a rain storm took down a tree near the house and pulled down the power lines. The power went out and the loud boom scared us and our 2 year old. Since it was a dark day anyway, the house was hard to be in without power…so we had to cut our stay by 1 day and head home early in the morning. Unfortunately, after hearing about our rushed exodus to safety, the hosts did not agree to our request to refund us for that day we missed and only refunded half our daily fee. They kind of gave us a hard time and felt thief were generous, however, we did not feel that way. We ended up paying for a day that we were not there and could not be there.
That’s our story…decent home, but nothing really great except for the location.
Attended a wedding so we weren't there full time. Very nice letting that needs a bit updating. The downstairs had a peculiar order especially in the closets. Other then that we enjoyed our stay. Just 20 minutes of arriving a momma bear & 2 cubs came wandering into the yard so we felt best not to use the firepit area. It also would have been very nice if the hot tub had been up & running. Could tell it hadn't been used for awhile.
Wonderful home, super convenient proximity to attractions!
While the easiest reason to stay here was the proximity to Story Land, Echo Lake, the Saco river, and Diana's Baths, it was certainly not the only one! We were very lucky to have great weather for the entirety of our stay, but the grand entertaining space on the main floor made for a relaxing way to enjoy company at the beginning and end of each day.
We enjoyed our stay here. The location is very convenient. It is ideal for a family on vacation with everything provided that you could need. The beds were very comfortable. The upstairs has a nice open living space with a balcony and great natural lighting. There is a good selection of games and movies. It is a very clean space.
That being said, it is in definite need of some updates. Towels are frayed and torn. Throw blankets are stained. Several kitchen floor tiles are cracked. The couch is worn and stained. Additionally, several smoke detectors were pulled from the ceilings and do not appear to be in working order.
The three of us are best friends / youth hockey teammates who grew up together in Rochester, NY. We now all live in the Greater Boston area with our better halves. We are sport fanatics, avid vacationers, suckers for 80's wedding music, and whiskey aficionado's (just ask us). We look forward to speaking with you!
