About this property
Lovely Chalet Home on Quiet Bay with Sandy Beach
Enjoy Our Charming Sandy Shores Beach House . . . A Perfect Relaxing Spot for Couples, Family and Friends
If you’ve been looking for a beautifully furnished cottage in a small tranquil neighborhood with your own private beach on Lake Huron, then Sandy Shores Beach House is perfect for you. Located just a mile from Cheboygan, you’ll be enjoying the amazing beauty of everyday life on Duncan Bay. From breathtaking sunsets, to passing ships, to Trumpeter Swans, eagles, cranes, and the nearby nesting osprey, you’ll be mesmerized by all that surrounds you.
This listing is a chalet style cottage, over 1,800 square feet with four spacious bedrooms and two full baths. The main level has a king bedroom and a queen bedroom with a shared full bath. Upstairs is a queen bedroom with a panoramic view of the lake, complete with its own private balcony. The second upstairs bedroom is furnished with a full-sized captain’s bed and a twin bed, perfect for kids. There is a full bathroom between the bedrooms. All bedrooms have plenty of closet space plus dressers and drawers. Bed linens, blankets and bath towels are provided.
On the main level you will find a fully furnished galley-style kitchen (including refrigerator, stove with full-sized oven, microwave, dishwasher, counter-top appliances and all the utensils, pots, pans and dishware you will need). Other areas on the main level include a kitchen counter and stools, an adjoining dining area with oak table that can seat up to eight (including a 24” leaf if needed), a high top “pub” table area that seats four (perfect for sunset drinks and games), a cozy family room area with reclining sofa and chair, a new 50” TV with streaming services, secure high speed internet connection, a laundry area with new washer and dryer, and two large sliding glass doors that open to a large back deck and lawn that overlook the beach and out to the bay. Beautiful views of the bay can be seen from all the common areas on the main level.
We also provide contact-less check-in, ample on-site parking, an outdoor grill, two kayaks, beach chairs, patio furniture, fire pit, games, and some basic laundry, kitchen and bathroom supplies. The City of Cheboygan is just a few minutes away with plenty of options for grocery stores, restaurants, shops, marinas/boat launches, movie theater, brewhouse, etc. to meet your needs and stocking supplies. Our professional housekeeper follows strict cleaning and laundering procedures prior to every check-in.
When it comes to things to do and places to go that are located nearby, where do we start? There are so many fun and enjoyable options which is why so many people choose the “Tip of the Mitt” as their favorite place to vacation and recreate. It truly is the outdoorsman’s paradise. There are miles of hiking and biking trails as well as many nearby lakes and rivers for boating and fishing adventures. Cheboygan is blessed to be on the northern end of an extensive inland waterway that flows for forty miles through three rivers and three large lakes. There are marinas located all along the waterway offering pontoon boat and jet ski rentals. Cheboygan Golf and Country Club, a five mile drive, is a beautiful public 18-hole course. There are many other fine golfing venues in the area. Mackinaw City is an easy 30 minute drive where you can catch a ferry to the famous Mackinac Island, or tour the historic Fort Michilimackinac or browse through the many unique shops that line the streets. Take the breathtaking drive across the Mackinac Bridge and visit the quaint city of St. Ignace and other sites in the Upper Peninsula. The Headlands International Dark Park is a favorite destination for star gazers. Or simply kick back and relax on your own private sandy swimming beach on the bay. The list goes on and on so check out our “Welcome Book” and collection of pamphlets we maintain at the house for more complete information about all the local attractions nearby.
Your hosts, Jean and Patrick Linton, have made many improvements since acquiring this special property and furnishing it with new beds, furniture, appliances and other features. About the host
Hosted by Jean and Patrick Linton

We are a retired couple who reside in the same neighborhood on this lovely bay as the beach house. We are far enough away to always respect your privacy, but close enough to respond in a timely manner to any questions or needs you might have. Patrick's career was in hospital and health care administration. Jean's career was in residential mortgage lending and insurance. We enjoy Cheboygan and the surrounding area of Northern Michigan. We are an active couple enjoying golf, pickle ball, bowling, skiing, kayaking and singing in a local choral group.
Why they chose this property
We enjoy living year round on this beautiful and quiet bay ourselves. When we purchased the beach house just down the road, we knew it would be a perfect location as a vacation rental. It's well suited for families and friends in small, intimate groups to gather and enjoy their time together. Children especially will enjoy playing on the sandy beach. The neighborhood is quiet with friendly neighbors. And it's located only a mile outside of Cheboygan making it a rural, waterfront property with easy access to stores, services and recreational activities. All the venues and activities that make Northern Michigan such an attractive vacation destination are within short driving distance.
