Great little cabin with a nice view of the lake. We enjoyed the stay. Only downside is, we couldn’t play in the beach because the lake shore was too rocky.

We had a wonderful time! A great little house sitting right on Lake Huron. Clean, well stocked, great location to so many things to see and do but just relaxing on the beach watching freighters floating by was AWESOME! You can even see the Mackinaw bridge! Location, location, location. It was everything we needed and wanted for our vacation and more. We would DEFINITELY stay here again.

One of the best rental properties I've stayed in. The house was stocked with all the necessities, which is unusual, I've always had to supply soap, paper towels, toilet paper etc. in other places, but not here. It is well maintained and clean. The view is just stunning. I would definitely stay here again.
The home was beautiful. Plenty of games and things to do in the house. The beach was nice. The neighbors were close. I loved the upstairs bedroom by the lake. It was nice to leave the window open and listen to the waves.

The house was the perfect size for our family since we travel with our elderly Mother. It was convenient to have 2 main floor bedrooms and a bathroom. The house was very clean, decorated nicely and was a comfortable fit for us. It provided everything we needed (kitchen & bathroom supplies, pans, spices, washer/dryer etc). The beach access is very close and the view is amazing. We enjoyed watching the freighters passing by and local wildlife. We had to contact VRBO for a quick fix on a Sunday and were very appreciative for the immediate response and service they provided. I highly recommend this rental as its close enough to town to make a quick trip if you need something, or plan a day trip to sight see, yet far enough away to feel secluded in a very quiet neighborhood. We look forward to booking again at this location.

It’s great to know you enjoyed the beach access, views, and peaceful neighborhood, as well as all the amenities provided. You were truly fantastic guests, and we’d be more than happy to welcome you back anytime! -Van FVR
Absolutely beautiful, clean cottage! It was a perfect getaway for me and my husband. Our 2 night stay wasn't long enough! We loved how close the beach was, and how we could see the water from the bonfire pit and the house. You get to enjoy a beautiful sunrise and sunset and stargazing on the beach on the clear nights. It's amazing how many stars you can see. We didn't get to see any freighters the few days we were there, but on the last foggy morning we could hear the fog horns blow as they went by. We will definitely be returning with our family! One thing to note, the shower downstairs is very slippery. I had to be a little cautious while showering and being 28 weeks pregnant, but that was just a very minor thing - everything else was perfect!

Thank you so much for the kind words! We're so glad to hear you and your husband had a relaxing getaway and enjoyed the views, beach, and stargazing. We appreciate the heads-up about the downstairs shower and will take a look to make sure it’s as safe as possible for future guests. You were wonderful guests, and we’d be absolutely happy to host you again, especially with your family next time! Wishing you all the best as you prepare to welcome your little one! -Van FVR
We had a fantastic family vacation! The house is very clean and was enough space for our family of 5. While the weather the week we stayed was on the cooler side, our kids still enjoyed playing on the beach and in the water. Gorgeous sunsets every night often from the fire pit! Quiet, relaxing - highly recommend!

We had an amazing vacation at Freighter View! The property itself was perfect for our family with children that wanted to play in the water and play with all the rocks on the beach. Definitely pack your water shoes for a more comfortable walk into the water. We enjoyed watching the freighters and sailboats pass by. And a beautiful sunset every evening. The cabin was so clean (and I’m picky) and is stocked with many things that you forgot you needed and that will make your stay more comfortable. The entire cabin was newly updated and was great to return to after long days exploring the “tip of the mitt”. If you are on the fence about this vacation rental - just book it! You will not regret it!

What a beautifully renovated, clean, comfortable, well stocked home just steps from Lake Huron. Our extended family spent Labor Day week relaxing by the fire pit enjoying the beautiful sunsets each evening. During the day we rock hunted, fished (not much luck) walked the beach, visited Mackinac Island and enjoyed the beautiful and peaceful property. I would definitely return and high recommend this property when visiting the area.

The property was very clean and in great condition. Pretty sure it’s very new. The view was absolutely amazing. Loved the patio and fire pit located right out the back door with a beautiful view of Lake Huron! We plan to make this a yearly getaway! Only downside was a million mayflies but not the fault of the property, just May in northern Michigan. Loved it!!

We're so glad you enjoyed the stunning view, patio, and fire pit right by Lake Huron , William. . We’re thrilled to hear you plan to make it a yearly tradition! Yes, those Mayflies are a part of northern Michigan in spring, but we're glad they didn’t detract from your stay. You were wonderful guests, and we can’t wait to welcome you back next year! -Van FVR
Property was exactly what we were expecting. There was an issue with the grill upon our arrival but a new grill was brought to us shortly. Loved the beautiful house and the amazing biew of the lake! Firepit helped us stay warm on cool summer nights

The property was beautiful. Location was amazing. However, our first evening we were sitting out by the fire and the neighbor came over to tell us the house is in a home association and quiet time was 10:00. We were never told the home was in an association and there was a “quiet time”. We are all adults and weren’t being loud by any means … just enjoying the evening fire after our long trip to get there. We thought that was all a little odd. The next day, we all took a trip to the island and when we came back there was a bunch of sticks etc in our fire pit that we didn’t leave. I messaged the office and they were going to see if the owner had been there. We were all a little concerned someone had been in our house. I messaged the office 2xs about this with no response. I called on the day we left and she said the owner wasn’t there and it was probably the neighbor cleaning up the yard. I then asked about the home association and quiet time we were told about by the neighbor. Management said they were not aware of any of that. So I’m not really sure what happened, but it all seemed a little shady. Regardless, we did enjoy our time and the amazing views and the private-ish beach area!

I'm glad you could see the beauty in the Freighter View property, plus the Cheboygan location, so close to Mackinac Island! I'm happy to hear you had a good time overall.
I'm sorry you experienced a neighbor giving you directions about the community. You are right. That is a bit odd, when it wasn't requested. Based on previous guest experiences, I can only hope he was trying to be helpful.
The property owner is unaware of any home association. We were not aware here at Freshwater Vacation Rentals either. Still, our general rule is a 10p quiet time when neighbors are nearby.
Andrew, from our office immediately returned your call when we received your message. We sent you an email as well. At one point, you spoke with Claire in our office and then you and Andrew connected about the kindling being left in the fire pit. I'm sorry those conversations didn't ease your mind.
We confirmed that the owner had not been to the property during your stay. There was no indication that anyone had been inside the house, yet in small communities, property lines are aren't as defined, especially without fences.
I'm sorry this experience with the neighbor left you unsettled about your privacy. It is a challenge with an unfenced yard, yet this is the first time we have ever experienced a guest complaint about the neighbor here.
We wish you all the best in your future travels.
Sincerely,
Cara
