Just Perfect

Perfect home with lots of space right on coast with great shared pool with only 3 other homes. Perfect location for us as we only spent a day in Georgetown. Rum Point and Kaibo perfect areas for catching boat trips and spending time with great restaurants. Local convenience store nearby. Perfectly peaceful. Would definitely stay here again.

We take pride in providing a spacious and peaceful environment, and it’s great to know that you enjoyed the shared pool and the beautiful coastal location. We’re glad you were able to explore Rum Point and Kaibo, as they truly offer some of the best experiences on the island. Having a local convenience store nearby is definitely a plus for our guests. Loved it!

We loved the house. It was right in the water. Beautiful breeze kept it comfortable. Pool was nice. My husband and I liked the quiet, less crowded atmosphere. We went to 7 mile beach which was wonderful but the area was busier. I liked that the house was close to Rum Point. Thank you for an awesome trip!

This was our second stay at the property, first at 2013. Although a little older, the property worked well for our group of 4 adults, 3 kids. The house was clean and fairly well equipped. We tended to eat dinner at the house and found the kitchen equipment satisfactory but missing a few desired things. Management was very friendly and responsive. The pool was well maintained and used heavily by our group. Due to the winter storm in the northeast we extended our stay a few days, necessitating a move to a different house. The transfer was seamless. We now have stayed in 3 of the 5 houses. Ocean Paradise was certainly that for our travels this year. Thanks again!

Beautiful views

Our family stayed here for 3 nights and we arrived to a spotlessly clean home that had plenty of fresh linens and supplies. The house had more than enough space for our family of four. We loved relaxing in the hammocks watching the waves roll into the beach. The quick and easy drive to Starfish Point, Crystal Caves and nearby restaurants was perfect. If you are looking for a quiet getaway with beautiful views - this is the place for you.

Paradise at your doorstep

We (family of 5) had an outstanding stay. The listing and reviews pegged the place perfectly. The house is extremely spacious and well maintained. The pool and grounds were lovely and large enough that sharing common space with 4 other houses was easy. The water there at the house can be pretty rough so it’s hard for snorkeling at least with little ones and water shoes are an absolute must. There’s plenty of great snorkeling though nearby that is easy to get to. Can’t wait to get back.

Great view and clean home

This is our first time in Cayman, the overall experience was good. The view of this house is great, but the builder didn’t take advantage of the location, the master bedroom doesn’t have ocean view, we ended up staying in the guest room which has the incredible view. Just a friendly reminder, if you are staying at this location, MAKE SURE to rent a car, this location is far from everything! We made the mistake of thinking there would be taxi everywhere, but no, not the North side. And from George Town downtown to this house is $125USD, the rental car is $28 per day. The check in experience was very poor, we requested an early check-in right after we booked, but we didn’t hear anything from the management. We were supposed to receive an email regarding the access code and our staying a day before our arrival, but there was nothing, so we thought probably there would be a staff on duty to give us a key. After we arrived, we couldn’t get in the house, and we couldn’t reach Sean the property manager. Our friendly neighbor actually got in contact with Sean before we did. The overall experience was great, we were only frustrated on the first day. And remember to get a car if you’re staying here!

Hi Edward, Thank you again for staying with us and I apologize for the issue with accessing the house. The HomeAway Hospitality program that is supposed to provide guests with access instructions prior to arrival has been giving us issues and not automating this process the way it should do so we have now began duplicating this effort and sending emails directly to guests to ensure that our guests have received all the correct information for check in. All of our listings at Ocean Paradise have Car Recommended selected under the location. As mentioned, taxis and public transport are not a feasible option for every day travel in our location. Most things are 3 to 5 minutes by car. If you plan to visit Cayman again to stay please note that we provide past guests with a discount but will do something extra for you for the issue you experienced. Update: Further to discussions with our account manager at VRBO we can confirm that the Hospitality app doesn't automate notifications to Travelers regarding crucial updates such as changes to access codes. Although new updates soon to be released by VRBO may address this, in the meantime notifications for changes of this nature will be sent directly to guests from Ocean Paradise management. We apologize again for any inconvenience caused.

Family week on the reef

The house was exactly as described and was a perfect fit for our family/needs. The day we arrived we'd had a number of delays and it was after 9 at night, we were worn out. The air had been turned down for us and everything was ready, huge relief. We chose to be on Rum Point knowing it would be out of the more commercialized area and that we'd have to drive to the big grocery stores but the access to the beach/reef/tidal pools (and chickens and lizards!) was what we wanted for the kids. We were aware of the rocky bottom at the water's edge, packed our water shoes and actually loved all of the nature it provided. The kids were playing in the tidal pools every night, they found small lobster, crabs, small eels, and a variety of fish! We spent a day lounging by the water's edge at Rum Point Club (minutes down the road and home of the mudslide!) They were very hospitable and only require to purchase all food and drink from them (i did have water bottles and apples with us, we were just discrete and purchased our lunch and a few drinks from them). They have direct access to a more shallow reef, chairs under the trees or in the sun, and the kids loved snorkeling under their dock, tons of fish. We also did a kayak trip to see the bioluminescence just around the corner from the club one night. Kaibo is close by, dressier upstairs seating or super casual downstairs (corn hole games for antsy kids or adults) and we actually found a big starfish at their water's edge (starfish point is very close by). The early mornings watching the sunrise, listening to the roosters and watching the surf was a beautiful start to the day. Kids loved lounging in the hammocks. We live in Florida 10 minutes from white sandy beaches so that wasn't something we were in search of (i saw other complaints about that) but we'd researched and knew exactly what we were getting and were quite happy with it. There were some reviews commenting on the trash that washes up but that is all over the island and my daughter makes a routine of picking up a bag of trash every time she goes to the beach to 'do her part' so she continued with that effort while we were there. There was some of the sargassum the last few days of our trip but it wasn't a big deal for us (Ive seen a number of people concerned by it). Do bring your bug spray, dawn and dusk you will need it, although by the water where the breeze is wasn't as buggy. I was glad we chose one of the houses by the water, pretty breezy**

Many maintenance issues were not addressed

Property itself and location fine. The beach was littered with trash and totally inaccessible to enter or safely snorkel.

Thank you again for staying with us. We are very sorry that the maintenance issues were not addressed in a timely manner. As discussed, we requested for the repair to be made immediately but our typical handyman was not available due to a death in his family. Unfortunately we were unable to source an alternative service provider before you left however the issue with the leaky faucet and the defective GFI have now been addressed and we have also secured an additional service provider should our regular provider not be available. Regarding plastic on the beach, several times each week members of our staff remove plastic that washes up on the beach directly in front of our property. We also arrange for beach cleanups further down the beach several times a year but unfortunately plastic pollution in the world's oceans is a problem that gets worst every year and it sometimes feels like our efforts to keep the beaches of our beautiful island clean and plastic free are futile. We will continue to do our best to provide a quality experience for our guests but ask that guests assist where possible by even picking up one or two pieces of plastic if seen on the beach. Your help would be greatly appreciated and perhaps together we can keep our beaches clean for all to enjoy.

Overall a very nice property

The house was as advertised & very comfortable. The grounds and pool were very nice. The beach was not what I was hoping for since it was mostly too rough to spend much time in and a definite must for water shoes. The distance to town or any stores or attractions was a drawback for us. We did not rent a car, so we tried to use the public buses, but being off season, they mostly did not run. Any transportation we did hire was very expensive. Probably the only downside to the house would be not enough living area furniture to comfortably accommodate 6 adults.

Response from VrboOwner on 7 September 2023
Thank you for staying with us and for providing a review. For future guests, we highly recommend renting a vehicle as most things are 3-5 mins away by car, and as mentioned, public transport is not the best in the North Side/Rum Point area. Regarding furniture, there is a love seat and sofa in the downstairs living area that can accommodate 5-6 people in total. There are also 8 single seater chairs in the dinning and kitchen area however we will see if it possible to perhaps include another single seater in the living area. There is also a futon in the upstairs den/tv area that accommodate another 2-3 persons who may want to watch something different from the guests downstairs.

Beautiful property and view!! Ultimate relaxation would be an understatement!

The property is beautiful and relaxing! Homes and property are well kept and very clean. Beach is not a real swim Beach because it is shallow and rocky. Bonus though is that Rum point with a beautiful sand beach to swim and snorkel. Enjoyed our stay! Great property and would definitely come back again!

Beautiful,clean, perfect

Check in was simple, the owner was accessible at all times if needed. The property was gorgeous and so put together. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you will need, the bathrooms had toiletries and beach towels folded into designs. The owner provided a detailed description of surrounding places to go or to rent from. My family had an amazing time swimming in the pool and meeting other guests from the 4 other homes on the property. If you are trying to decide where to stay look no further this is the place. We will be back for sure

“Beautiful building, beautiful location, be prepared for lots of driving.”

My wife, daughter and myself reserved this 3 bedroom, 3 bath for a weeks vacation just before Christmas. We absolutely loved the first class accomodations. It was nice for all three of us to be able to shower at the same time after a long day at the beach. The building is so close to the water that I developed a routine of washing the salt spray off the windows every morning with the garden hose. Be prepared to drive 20 minutes to the restaurants on the east end of the island, and 45 minutes to the restaurants and beaches on the west side of the island. We were not impressed with Rum point so cannot offer suggestions for restaurants or beaches there. As far as the rental unit itself, we have never had better. Super nice, roomy, well appointed and comfortable.

Great place and location

The 5 of us loved staying at this house! It was right on the ocean, and the manager was around nearly every other day on case we needed anything. I would highly recommend it to others if you want to be 4 mins from Rum Point which has restaurants and other attractions. We went to see Stingray city(a must see) and also went deep sea fishing from the pier at Rum Point. The fishing was excellent as well!!! Had fresh fish several nights because of it! I.also want to say that the person who.i was im comtact woth through VRBO (Sean Scott) was very responsive to emails and whatever questions we had as well. Thanks for everything! We will be back for sure :)
