Clean, clean, clean! We had a sibling reunion at Whale Watch with three couples, and the home was perfect for us. Everything we needed was already stocked—from a pantry full of spices and essentials to plenty of dishes, serving bowls, and cookware. The ocean facing living room overlooking the large deck, and the large deck, quickly became our favorite places. We watched the changing surf, a pair of seals lounging on the rocks below and several distant whale spouts, even in late August. (We couldn’t figure out why they were moving north, though.) Binoculars and a telescope were provided to make the experience even better. The neighborhood was peaceful and quiet with no traffic. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. It was just a short drive to both Mendocino and Fort Bragg. All of our dealings with the owners were excellent.

Started off poorly- never received the check in materials- cell service poor, finally called Jackie. Had to drive into town to read the instructions then back to house, finally got in. The house and view were amazing. The TV in the den was ancient, couldn’t get it on until Jackie sent neighbor/repair guy to help. House fairly clean but lots of cobwebs. Kitchen great with lots of spices. Oven new but baking iffy due to big temperature variation from front versus back inside. Coffee maker leaked, coffee leaking from underneath the burner. Lots of china, flatware. Sliding barn door in master derailed, fell onto my wife’s back almost pinning her on the bed- she was not hurt. Overall good house with good location and amazing views. We would return.

Great host, real easy to contact and deal with. Took our Lab Jax and she loved the location, close to a beach for her to swim. House was very comfortable and neighborhood is quiet and nice to walk. Great restaurants in Mendocino, Loved Luna Trattoria. Money well spent on a great relaxing week. Thanks to Jackie, Harvey and Denice.

Whale Watch house was enjoyed by all in our party. On the property we saw a fox and lots of deer. From the house deck with the naked eye we saw a pilot whale and then 5 pacific harbor seals (white w dark spots) camped out on the rocks in front of us all day and entertained us. Montgomery woods is a great area to see the really old redwoods. And unless you hv kids that want a train ride skip the Skunk Train as it’s not much to see. We highly rec the Whale Watch house!

This was our 2nd time at the Whale Watch, first time was 10 years ago. We love the view and the nice neighborhood. The house is set up perfectly for guests. It’s very close to town. We will definitely be going back!

Beautiful views and peaceful area.

The views at Whale Watch are absolutely amazing. And it lives up to its name, we were able to see whales and sea lions. It was perfect for our family of 5 as a home base while we explored the area.

We were there for our 20th Anniversary. Stayed for a week. The view was amazing! Pictures do not do it justice. We saw many deer on the property. Sea lions swimming by, a few whale spouts and seals that were sleeping on the rocks right outside the property. We had every meal at the house, kitchen had everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable. We had our 3 little fur babies with us, there is a little dog run on the side of the house that was perfect for them. We were sad to leave but know we will be back again!!!
