Our Happy Place

We want "Our Happy Place" to feel like your home away from home. We are close to town with a secluded mountain feel. With a 10 min. drive to Tweetsie RR, less than 10 min to downtown and less than a 40 min drive to Grandfather; we are convenient to lots of hiking trails and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Don't miss spring in the high country! Our home is a great 'base camp' for your outdoor activities, whether those adventures are hiking, biking, shopping or sightseeing.

Great place for family time- fully stocked!

This fully stocked house (I am picky about my kitchens) was perfect for our family get away--will be renting again!

Great place, but quirky doorknobs

House was as described. Perfect location. Very convenient to App State, downtown, the Parkway. Kitchen was well stocked. Beds were comfortable. Front porch and back deck were lovely. The exterior doorknobs were difficult to open. Saturday morning two of the three doors couldn’t be opened from the inside. I went outside via the garage to open the front door and found myself unable to open any exterior door to get back in. My family finally realized I was outside and couldn’t get in. You have to jiggle the doorknobs.

Not great/not awful

Great house. Spacious. Not enough toilet paper, pillows or blankets. (Thankfully we brought some of our own). One bed had a big dip in middle that you rolled into. Very dusty. Fans, baseboards, ledges, furniture nit dusted in a while. Items in cupboards..expired. Old food items left in fridge. Under furniture needs vacuumed. Host was very nice and let us get in earlier than check in time. Also, personal family pictures made it a little weird. Not used of that when staying in Airbnbs.
