About this property
Peakside Retreat with Chefs Kitchen, Theater, Game, Kids Rooms by Design
Chefs kitchen with Wolf appliances, Sub-Zero fridge & pot filler.
Over 3000 SQ ft, theater Room, air hockey table and master bathrooms to die for.
3 bedrooms upstairs, one downstairs, large 3 car garage, covered decks, large yard, beautiful laundry room. The kids beds are 2 comfy twin beds in a fishing-themed room. There is a full mattress airbed you can blow up for use in the kids room, as well there are toys in the closet.
The kitchen bar seats 3 more & we have a bench for additional seating.
The modern, quiet house is in a very private setting for outdoor fun as well. There is a large gas grill on the covered back porch. After grilling, the theater seats 5 comfortably, for winding down the day.
Great base to visit Denali.
Hatcher Pass has some great trails along with visiting Historical Independence Mine.
In Palmer, the butte is a great short hike. There is a steep side and a more family friendly side but it offers a great view of the Palmer area. Hiking either side will bring you to the same area at the top.
I’d recommend the Matanuska Glacier but if you were to go to Seward they also have an excellent hike (Exit Glacier) that is not too difficult and you will be able to see part of the the glacier from there. You are able to hike on the Matanuska Glacier - MICA or NOVA can offer a great guided tour experience to walk on it.
If you head out to Seward, there is the Wildlife Conservation Center the Anchorage side.
The drive to Denali is about 3.5 hours there, 3.5 hours back. Talkeetna offers tours that will fly you through Denali National Park (Talkeenta Air Taxi) and some excursions may land on the glacier. Talkeetna is only about and hour and half away from Wasilla.
Talkeetna also has boating excursions. This house offers great access to Talkeetna- it really offers a lot of things in the summer!
Alaska Backcountry Adventure Tour offers a wide variety of ATV tours based in Palmer. I've heard nothing but great things about them.

This home is everything it advertised and was a great location for us to explore nearby Alaska. Interaction with the host was so easy, as was accessing the home. We would gladly stay here again.
This was the perfect house for our family vacation to spend Christmas with our Alaskan family. The house was warm and welcoming and had tons of space for ever to spread out and enjoy. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay!
Great house for a family. Our 3 and 4 year old enjoyed all of the extras for kids! The property manager was so helpful. Wonderful quiet setting close to shopping and attractions.
Beautiful house, everything we needed. As the weather was rainy we thoroughly enjoyed the fireplace. Were here 5 days and the sun arrived the last two.
Wow, what a great place!
Loved the open kitchen, dining and living area. Was perfect for our large group to hang out together.
The theatre room and air hockey were perfect entertainment for us and the kids.
Very communicative hosts! Thank you for a wonferful place for the weekend!

Thank you for being such wonderful guests and letting us host you. Happy to hear you enjoy the house as much as we do when we get to come and stay with our family. Appreciate you.
A great place for us to meet a new member of our family. The place is beautiful and lots of space for kids to run around. The location was far enough for privacy, but stores were less than a 10 minutes drive away. Enjoyed cooking, watching movies, and hanging out in this home.
This property is beautiful, and I am surprised you can rent such a nice house. We spent four nights there. It is large and has top of the line everything. You won't be disappointed.
Beautiful home. Very clean and bright. Well maintained home and well stocked kitchen. We had everything we needed (pots/pans, utensils, knives, etc) to cook our meals. Quiet, peaceful setting for our church elder planning retreat. Will definitely rent again.
We were in Alaska for a mini family reunion and this beautiful home was a great meeting place! Lots of space. High end appliances and finishes. All the kitchen appliances and accessories we could possibly need. Would definitely return!
All good. Would suggest another bed since there is room. Also a bench in bedrooms for luggage would be helpful

Thank you so much!
All good suggestions. Planning on adding furniture to the rooms, and changing beds in the kids room. Will look into the bench idea. Appreciate your feedback, experience.
The house was actually BETTER than the pictures show, which is very unusual. Everything is newer and very clean. That is huge to me! Communication with the property manager was always fast and she was super helpful! We can't say enough good about our stay! Our family vacation was WONDERFUL & so much of that is due to this GREAT place to stay. Thank you so very much!
We were just up for the weekend from Anchorage, for my niece’s wedding. This home was relatively close to the wedding venue and looked nice online, so we decided to try it out. I am BEYOND happy we stayed at this property! It was spacious, it was beautiful, everything was clean and new, the beds were comfy, the fixtures and details were amazing, and the Hosts were very accommodating. I could have lived in the master suite! We loved every minute we had together, sitting and chatting around the gorgeous dining table, and having morning coffee out on the covered deck. It was calm and peaceful, and just what we needed. THANKS FOR A GREAT STAY!
Our youth group attended a conference and it ended up that our group grew to more than the max number in the listing. I communicated to Shanna and we were going to rent a camper to park in the driveway, but she was more than accommodating and allowed us all to stay in the house. We had plenty of room and an amazing show of the auroras (surely planned by our host 😊). Our crew felt spoiled and really enjoyed a place to actually rest between conference sessions. Thank you!
We had an amazing time at the house! So glad I made my brother cancel his previous reservations when I found this place! It was just what we were looking for plus some! My daughter immediately ran to the little ones room that was set up with a few toys that she played with almost immediately. The house was very clean and well decorated. Had every thing we needed and I could not have been happier. The owners of the property were also extremely nice and very responsive in answering our questions and zero issues the entire trip.
Would highly recommend and will probably be back ourselves! So glad we opted for this house over those in Anchorage. Totally worth the drive and plenty to do in the area!

Thank you so much, we were delighted to have you and your family be our first guests! You are very kind and always welcome.
We visited Alaska for an entire week in July 2023. Absolute perfect location outside of the busy Anchorage area. Close to stores, restaurants, and breweries. Also not far from Palmer, Talkeetna, and we even went to Seward which was about 3 hours away.
The house itself is absolutely gorgeous! Lots of space in the living room and kitchen area, huge master bedroom and bathroom, other bedrooms great size, and the house had everything we needed.
I had asked the owner questions prior to booking the house, and she was very helpful and friendly. The check-in and check-out procedure was super easy too.
We loved staying at this house and highly recommend it! If we ever visit from Virginia again -- this is the place we will definitely rent! :)
This home was so incredibly nice. We have traveled a lot and this is by far the best house we have stayed in. The house was in a great location and easy to find. All the amenities were great. I do wish maybe the back deck was screened in as I have about a hundred mosquito bites “yes I wore bug spray :)” I’m sad to say we didn’t get to actually spend much time in the house as we drove hundreds of miles each day and came back exhausted. We cooked in the house every day and the kitchen was very nice for entertaining. There were not many utensils for cooking so that presented a challenge at times. Over all we had an amazing stay in a home that felt like a dream. We did not want to leave!

Thank you for the great review, Sydney.
It's been an unusually wet summer summer here, making the mosquitos in Wasilla a bit much. I'm sorry, they've been a problem for all of us this year.
Would be happy to stock-up on more utensils in the kitchen. If you wouldn't mind letting me know what you needed, I can take care of that.
Thank you so much for staying with us. So glad you all made good use of the kitchen. Please come back any time! Hopefully in a less rainy late summer!
We had a most comfortable stay. Our families gathered from across the state to attend a memorial. The most appealing part of this house was our ability to host events. We kept Shanna informed and because of this home we were able to gain opportunities with family and friends during our short stay.
This home has: comfortable beds for a good nights rest; blackout curtains to keep the midnight sun out; and soft towels after a hot shower. Three Bears grocery store is a quick five minutes away, they had all the groceries we needed to host dinners and brunch. The kitchen had all the cookware and dishes to keep up with serving 25 people. We had a minor hiccup with the garbage disposal, but Shanna was quick to respond and we were able to get it resolved. The spacious living area allowed us to spread out and relax. There was plenty of driveway space to park 8 vehicles. The outside seating allowed some fresh air with our morning coffee. We wished we had one more evening to enjoy the fire pit and the grill, but I guess we'll have to come back another time.
Back in Alaska for a wedding… stay with grandparents!
Loved this house! Very comfortable and great location for our family who was near a North Wasilla location.
(Would be a great location for any Settlers Bay events!)
Kitchen was amazing, plenty of space and our kids enjoyed the movie room.
Beds were comfortable, lush new towels, and great, kind, communication with the owner. Would stay here again! Thank you!
