Perfect little spot next to the canal. Very peaceful and quiet. The location is a very quick walk to the main shops in town and easy walk to the New Hope side of the bridge. The kitchen and bathroom was well equipped. The couch was comfy. I would absolutely stay there again.
My husband and i have stayed here before, and each time is perfect. Great location, lovely neighbors, and clean and home like. We look forward to staying with them again.
Loved this property. It’s the perfect location with a beautiful short nature walk away from Lambertville shops and restaurants. This was our first time staying here and hopefully the first of many.
Beautiful location and fabulous home from home accommodation, highly recommend. Myself and daughter thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back when visiting the area again. Host was always quick to respond to any questions I had. Thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful property
Stayed to help celebrate with friends and family in New Hope. Very close to many great shops and it even snowed during our visit. House was very comfortable.
Enjoying the local charm and history of the area, especially Washington’s Crossing🇺🇸
I loved the location, and historical charm. The stairs were a bit treacherous, but we were careful and everything worked out. I’m happy we found your place on a trip that originated in Williamsburg and ended in NY.
The apartment was perfect in every way for a weekend getaway for a couple. It was quiet, well appointed, with a beautiful view of the canal, and a short walk to downtown Lambertsville and New Hope. We hope to stay there again sometime.
The home was perfect for my family of 3. Great communication with the host. Everything we needed was available and clean. A convenient location with a beautiful short walk into Lambertville/New Hope.
Quaint place...comfortable beds. Clean, great location, private.
(Kitchen and small bathroom had a strong odor of mold or damp odor. Maybe a dehumidifier would help) if i visit again i would stay here again.
Thank u.
Location, location, location!
This was a great place directly in the canal trail; tranquil, clean and had everything we needed. Walk along the beautiful trail and you're quickly in Lambertsville and steps from the bridge to New Hope. I plan to return next summer with my bike. Wonderful experience, clean, cozy beautiful home and a fantastic host.
The Canal House is a lovely and peaceful location. The access to Lambertville and New Hope, by the towpath, makes for a unique experience. It takes you back to a simpler time. Wonderful!
We had a great stay. There’s a path along the canal that we took walks on, and some restaurants and coffee shops are walkable. There is a really great playground walking distance to the house. We took our two-year-old to the nearby children’s museum and train ride as well (those were short drives). The house was a perfect set up for us, the stairs were just very steep so we had to make sure we were carefully watching the toddler at all times.
The property is so conveniently located in the right spot to enjoy a walking and biking path and just foot steps away from great restaurant and shops. It is a gem. Property clean and cozy and good feeling of home away from home. I would highly recommend this location if you don't want the hassle of driving and trying to find a parking because everything is located near this property. Loved every minute.
We absolutely loved our stay! It's literally on the canal path and a block from the playground and two blocks from the main road in Lambertville. We loved the house so much that we got takeout and ate on the back patio, front screened in porch and kitchen. The house overall was really fascinating with all the art and decor. We also had aloud two year old and he loved watching the ducks on the porch and walking to the playground. Thank you!
Perfect spot to relax for a few days. With the tow path and downtown areas of Lambertville and New Hope easily accessible by foot, this house is ideally situated for an easy getaway. We enjoyed staying in a house with a kitchen as opposed to an inn. The pots and pans and other utensils are nice. The backyard and second story deck are cozy outdoor spaces that made staying in fun, too! We like super firm beds, and would have preferred a firmer one, but if you don't like your bed super firm, you'll love theirs.
The day before I was to meet up with my sister to visit our family and friends in the area, we booked this wonderful place. Holiday travel can be hectic, but our experience while renting this property couldn't have been better. Our first morning waking up here, we were drawn out on a walk on the towpath and were instantly relaxed. The house was comfortable and accommodating. We loved the artwork and little touches that made it so welcoming! We used it as a home base for our visits to family members in the area. The location allowed us to be close to family and in a beautiful place: We walked and enjoyed the sweet town in the mornings and then did our visits in the afternoons. The trip to and from the Phila airport was really simple. It's a great place. We want to stay here again!
We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the canal house. The only caveat we have is that the staircase to the bedrooms is steep and narrow. If you have mobility issues, you might want to reconsider. However, that said, it was a lovely little, well furnished, clean, and quiet venue even though it was next to the Towpath, which has a number of walkers and cyclists. The location is an easy walk into Lambertville and New Hope, which my wife did a couple of times.
When I pulled up, I couldn’t believe how lucky I was to be staying in this beautiful historic home! Very clean and comfortable. Great AC and Wi-Fi- great kitchen, several unique places to sit and relax, read, etc. The host gave helpful written detailed instructions and was available when needed.
It is important to note that you must be able to walk up steep, narrow steps to get to the bedrooms. Also, the upstairs bathroom is located in the master bedroom so be prepared to share. There is also a nice 1/2 bath off the kitchen.
My partner and I ADORED this little house! It's ideally situated: tow path literally right outside the front door, walkable into town and great local restaurants/coffee shops. It also was scrupulously clean, and had the most comfortable pillows/mattress I've ever slept on--better than my own bed at home. If not for the scary steep staircase up to the second floor, which took a minute to get used to, I could have lived here permanently!
Although we had no problems or issues during out stay, the property owner was easily accessible and checked in on us with "extra" directions to the house, which sometimes doesn't show up on GPS.
We could not have had a better experience: THANK YOU.
We loved being right on the canal towpath, not only enjoying the idyllic nature of it all, but also having a fun way to bike/walk into town for pizza and across the bridge for more adventures. It was also fun to watch and greet the parade of dog walkers, and families strolling the towpath, all of which felt like a warm embrace from Lambertville. Elliott's home was spotless and cozy. Elliott, himself, was a welcoming host and responsive with any concerns or clarifications. A previous reviewer had mentioned the steepness of the steps and they are steep and could prove an issue for those renting with little ones or for those with compromised movement.
