The house was clean and comfortable, just as described, and the host was helpful and responsive. The beds were comfortable. The house is very old, rather dark, and on a busy road near a train. The towels were not set out, and there was no coffee to use in the coffee maker.
it was very convenient for us as we were close to the convention center. the house was cos and welcoming. the bathroom and kitchen were small but adequate. thanks
This home was easy to find, check in and access. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was small so room to get ready for a big event would have to be managed but the shower was nice and the water hot. It is near restaurants and shops. Our only complaint was the road noise was very loud at night. We stayed over SIU graduation weekend.

Liked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities, communication
First time I’ve stayed somewhere other than a motel. Very nice quiet would recommend.
Rented this property for a sister weekend, very clean, good location, owner very prompt at responding to questions during our stay. We rent this one again!
House was so welcoming and beautiful. Stay was a delightful. Didn’t have to worry about anything, many things provided. Exceeded expectations. Highly recommend.
It was a clean house. Plenty of space. Kitchen was stocked with everything you need.
Friendly owner. Close to restaurants and stores. Casey's is right next door.
This was perfect for my little trip! Everything was clean and the rooms were good size! It was just me so i didnt need alot of space. The kitchen area was small but perfect if you dont need many hands or are not planning on cooking big meals however there was a full size stove fridge and microwave and washer and dryer available. Will definitely stay again!
The place fit the bill nicely. Centrally located. Clean, cool(ac in excellent working order...an absolute must for the summer), comfortable. Will need some basic staples in the kitchen if you're planning a longer stay. Bathroom small but clean. Comfortable beds and furniture. Keep in mind that the place is right on DeYoung street, a major thoroughfare so there can be street noise at times. Overall, worked out great !!!
The mattress was wore out. the toilet ran constantly.the noise was bad. the worst was poor lighting we like to read and unless the sun was shining it was notvery easy to do. Most all light fixtures were missing bulbs. All in all it was ok the lady seemed nice.

Disliked: Check-in, location, listing accuracy
Rented for three nights in December. Pre-communication was not as expected. We had to contact the host to receive an email for the “unlock code” and the wifi. Arrived at dusk and saw a MasterLock keybox on the side of the wall but could not unlock the box to get the keys. Call to the host rolled to voicemail with a full mailbox. Called VRBO who patched us through to the host. She explained the code was for a keypad on the door not the lockbox. We couldn’t see that because the outside light was not working properly. She said she would have maintenance fix that. Light was useless during our three nights.Safety Issue: house has two bedrooms - and a storage area off one of the rooms that I believe used to be a back porch. Storage area had an exit door that was padlocked from the inside. We had no secondary means of egress in case of a fire short of breaking out a window - which was my plan if needed. The WiFi did not work on Thursday. Texted the host who promised to take care of that on Friday. She followed through and delivered a new Router as that was the WiFi problem. Small ice storm during our stay - no ice melt available.Tiny kitchen. Washer dryer is where ‘fridge was. Handle on clothes dryer is broken. Fridge, toaster and coffee pot share a plug. All three cannot be used at one time. Two burners on gas stove needed to be lit with a match. No bathroom fan. House is OK for two to four people if you like quirky. We will stay elsewhere.
