My family and I stayed for a week in July and the cabin was lovely. The owners were so attentive and kind that it made the vacation feel more like home. Beautiful setting and a beautiful lake!
Nice quiet lake cabin with everything you need. Beautiful red pines, clear water, and space to spread out. Bring a boat if you have one to explore further.
The hosts were very cooperative and the location is beautiful with a perfect view of the lake. The cabin has plenty of beds to accommodate a family and the kitchen was well stocked with essentIals.
Larry and Wendy were wonderful hosts, This is a great place for anyone who wants to unplug, as there is no Wi-Fi and cell service is limited.
Families stayed together for local wedding in Longville. Cool weather, not able to access lake. Nice hosts. Very clean home and property. No shoes permitted inside cabin.
Stayed 4 days and docked the boat for fishing every day. Right in the middle of the fishing action, easy to come home for lunch, boat lifts and battery charging power provide peace of mind overnight.
Every view of the house is of the lake. Owners are very personable and are right next door for help if needed. New driveway and air conditioner show the care that the owners have for their perfect location and setup.
Gorgeous property. Felt like I was staying in a wildlife sanctuary. Watched 4 bald eagles one afternoon and the next morning while drinking coffee I watched one in a tree so close to me it took my breath away.
We fell asleep to the loons and found great places to hike and bike right from the cabin.
Will definitely return.
Our family had a great time at this cabin. We had 3 adults and 3 children and had plenty of room. It is old, but updated and clean. The owners live nearby and made sure we had everything we needed. You can't beat the view of the lake... what a beautiful setting! We enjoyed bird watching, campfires, and of course fishing. We loved being able to park our boat in the lift. The only downside is the bugs, but that is MN for you. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks!
This is the second summer we’ve stayed here. We liked it and Woman lake so much we came back this summer!
Wendy and Larry are great hosts. You can tell they really care for the place as they are always looking to improve the experience and cabin. The drive way has been paved and AC added to the cabin since last year.
Another bonus is their neighbor no longer has a rooster.
One thing we did change from last summer was to make sure to be around on a Wednesday for the turtle races in Longville. Fun time and we would recommend trying to fit it into any stay in the area.
Boys annual fishing getaway. Grandpa, two sons and grandson. Cabin is comfortable and clean. Slope to lake is steep but stairs are well designed and very easy up and down. Lake homes on right and left are well spaced apart so cabin is really isolated and quiet. Only issue we had was with the boat lifts. We had a Ranger 2080 which is very heavy with a deep V design and would not fit on any of the two boat lifts available on the two docks. However most fishing boats would be just fine. Shoreline does get hit with W and NW wind waves. Women Lake is a great fishery and we were not disappointed. Most of the walleyes and smallmouth bass were caught at dusk/dark up and down the cabin shoreline. Even caught a walleye right off the dock. Great cabin for a fishing outing or just solitude and relaxing. Hosts Larry and Wendy were next door and very accommodating.
Larry & Wendy are a very sweet couple. They just want your stay to be comfortable and peaceful. They have a very impressive piece of property. Larry will give you a quick tour. So, you have a good understanding of the full property.
Its a clean cabin that is large enough for any family visit.
A doc at the bottom of the hill that gives way to a full view of Womans Lake. Loons, bald eagles and other water fowl not seen much in the T.C...Its a very clear lake. We struggled finding or getting fish to bite. There is nothing bad to say.
Enjoy,
Steve
The cabin is perfect for anyone wanting to be on a beautiful lake with multiple other lakes very near. Wendy and Larry are very friendly, reply promptly to messages and even gave us a tour of the area when we arrived. Inside the cabin is very spacious with all the tools needed for making meals during your stay. Plenty of beds for everyone and even toys that our 3 year old started playing with immediately. Outside the cabin is beautiful and we enjoyed the lovely deck and fire pit. Make sure to get the homemade donuts at Woman Lake resort just down the road and if you drive just a little bit further you can go to the town of Walker which has great shopping, restaurants and is right on Leech lake which is a very large lake. Overall we had an amazing trip and only wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you Wendy and Larry and we hope to return soon!
Our party of five really enjoyed the cabin and lake. The lake itself is very clear, with a rock and sandy bottom and very few weeds. There is a nice flat area by the dock with a fire pit, so you can make a base camp down there to enjoy the lake. The lower area is accessed by a long staircase climb from the beach to the house, but there is a nice resting area built in halfway up. There is a large deck with table and a gas grill.
The cabin itself is nice. One end (rooster side!) has a master bedroom with large bed, and then a bunk room with three beds. Then it is the living room with wood burning fireplace, a couch, a love seat, a few chairs and a large table that could easily fit 8. Adjacent and open to the living room is a small but functional kitchen, and then the bathroom. Continuing on there is another bunk room and then the screen porch. Sleepers by the porch did not hear the rooster, or the neighbor's bell chimes, so light sleepers should aim for that part of the cabin.
Ceiling fans throughout kept it quite cool when needed. The owners have made many quality improvements. This is a nice place!
I cannot say enough about Larry and Wendy's cabin on Woman Lake! They are super friendly and kind hosts and we loved the view of the lake from every room in the cabin, the deck, and the cozy fireplace near the shore. Larry even provided us with firewood which was really nice.
After booking I got a message and a phone call from Wendy to go over details and make sure we had everything we might need.
Once we arrived, Larry walked us through the cabin and showed us how to use everything, then he took me on a tour of the area in his Gator / Side by Side. He wanted to make sure we were very comfortable with our surroundings. I did not feel that was necessary at first, but it was actually pretty helpful.
We spent time exploring the lake and enjoyed the magnificinent views all the way up to the connecting Girl Lake in Longville.
Wendy and Larry warned us about the rooster next door, but we LOVE all the sounds of nature and to us, that just adds to the charm of this wonderful spot on the lake.
We woke up every morning to a nice cup of coffee and fresh pine air, while listening to the waves on the rocks, the breeze in the tress and the occational sounds from the loons, the chipmunks, and yes, the rooster saying rise and shine, its going to be a wonderful day.
The cabin was cozy, clean, and pretty well stocked. We did enjoy watching a movie from their DVD collection.
Enjoy Fresh dounuts at the General Store - Yum!
Out of room to say more - 5 stars all the way!
Larry and Wendy were very acommodating hosts, Larry met us on the road on the way in showed where to park the boats/ trailers. And helped us haul gear down to the cabin with the four wheeler.
Cabins was very clean and well suplied..
Enjoyed our stay very much!!!
