Charming lakefront cottage with private beach and boat dock.
Nestled in the trees overlooking Seneca Lake and next to a glen, you will love our beautiful lake and sunset views and falling asleep to the sound of trickling water. The large private beach and boat dock are a rarity in the area. There is lots of room to wade from the shore into the refreshing cool water – or jump from the dock, in unison, on the count of 3, like we do! Bring your boat or rent one from one of the several nearby marinas. There is also a company that will bring kayaks, canoes or paddleboards right to the cottage with all the necessary gear. Enjoy a BBQ on the beach at the picnic table or sitting around the fire bowl, late into the evening. It’s easy to stay in, making meals in the well-stocked kitchen but also fun to explore the many restaurants, breweries and wineries nearby. The Seneca Lake wine trail starts just up the road and Watkins Glen is less than 10 minutes away. Ithaca or Corning are both around 30 minutes and offer a wide variety of additional things to do; hiking trails, waterfalls, Corning glass museum, and of course, more wineries! Peak season occupancy is set for 7 nights minimum but ask about shorter trips. Especially Sun - Wed. I will try to accommodate you.
High speed wireless internet works well. Smart television and expanded cable provided. All Major cell phones carriers seem to work fine. No local land phone line.
MAX OCCUPANCY IS 4. Spacious primary bedroom with a king-size bed, full bathroom & second bedroom upstairs (double bed). Queen size bed and additional full bath on first floor. We find the Upstairs/downstairs a nice split for couples.
I provide high quality sheets, plenty of pillows all encased in breathable allergen covers, blankets and decorative quilts & shams for all beds. 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels and 2 washcloths left for each guest. Please bring your own beach towels.
Shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, dish soap, paper towels, cleaning supplies, trash bags and toilet paper provided. Various spices, oil, vinegar, condiments left but not guaranteed.

We loved our stay at the cottage! The location is perfect for exploring all the wonderful wineries and eateries along 414 -- and of course Watkins Glen and the gorge. The cottage itself is quaint and adorable with lots of smaller rooms to tuck into for reading and relaxing. The dock and private beach are amazing and make for a perfect spot to enjoy the lake and sunsets. We would definitely return.

Hi Holly,
Not sure how I missed your beautiful pictures before. They are really great. Really make me miss the place- Hope they hold many happy memories for you, too and you will come back again soon.
My Family and I loved our stay at this property! Great location only a few miles outside Watkins glen! My boys loved the dock and camp fires on the beach at night.
We had a great stay at this cute cottage, ideally located ten minutes from Watkins Glen and within easy reach of dozens of wineries and breweries. The ktchen was well-stocked, the bed was very comfortable and the porch overlooking the lake delightful.
The cottage was very cozy with a nice lake view from the veranda. Adrian took care of everything, the local wine for welcome, lots of wood, so we could spend long evenings by the fire pit. A very enjoyable vacation. Thank you Adrian for a great stay!
We really enjoyed staying in this cottage. The property is gorgeous and the cottage has wonderful nooks for relaxing and enjoying the weather. Our first night was chilly and listening to the creek outside with the windows open was magical. Adrian was a wonderful host and the neighbors were very welcoming and kind.
We spent the Memorial Day long weekend at this property and were beyond thrilled with the stay. We cannot wait to return with better weather to enjoy the outdoors and dock! The home had a perfect cabin-feel, the sound of the waterfall flowing outside the windows and views were just exquisite. While this is far from modern construction, the house provided all of the amenities we needed for our lake-front stay with endless charm. The proximity to the lake and on-site waterfall were the highlights, and what will keep us coming back. The location relative to local landmarks was perfect, we were able to get to Watkins Glen quickly for shopping and hiking the State Park, and we were also near wineries and breweries for a quick stop in or bite to eat.
The cottage is nice and very quaint! It has a lot of room and was well stocked. Access to the lake was easy as it was right out the door and down the stairs. The porch was great for coffee in the morning and wine at night. It will be a strong consideration if I am in the finger lakes area in the future!
Lovely space right on the lake. The house is a quintessential lake house and it’s really peaceful and relaxing. My favorite part was sitting on the porch and listening to the water. The access to the house and the stairs down to the lake are not a lot but they are steep and it wouldn’t be a great place for people with limited mobility or little kids. The owner is very sweet and is great with communication. There is a 4 person limit on the property which was clearly stated when I made the reservation and was still hard for me as local who would have liked to have two couple friends over at once. The dock and beach was perfect for the sunsets. I left feeling rejuvenated and ready to head back to a busy work season.
What a wonderful place for a relaxing vacation. The house is quaint and very comfortable. It is very much like visiting your favorite grandmother’s house. The house has a grand view of the lake with a wonderful porch to relax on. While we were there, we had a nice rain shower that filled the creek that runs along the house and we were able to sleep to the sound of a babbling brook. The home is well-appointed, and everything you need is easy to find. Adrian is a wonderful host and is very fast to answer any questions. I will definitely stay here again as well as recommend this to any friend planning to stay in the area.
Situated on the steep banks of Seneca Lake and right next to small cascade of water, the cottage provides a very peaceful place to spend some time. The sound of running water was zen-like and made for great sleep! Because of the slope, the views from the front porch and lake-facing windows makes you feel as if you are in a tree house. Great sunsets and a nice beach area and dock on the water - we only wish it was a bit warmer to want to take advantage of it more. The space was fine for our family of four adults, but larger groups might feel a little tight. The place had everything we needed and enjoyed cooking some meals at the cottage.Adrian was an amazing owner! Clear, responsive communications and went above and beyond when we forgot something at the house.
Loved the old cottage feel and very private! Plenty of sleeping options for our family of 4. The creek next to the house really added to the charm of the cottage. It rained during our last night, so we opened up windows on that side of the cottage and fell asleep to waterfall sounds. We spent most of our time at the cottage down at the beach and loved the dock. The water is very deep off the end of the dock - great for jumping! You will want water shoes for exiting the water and we brought our own inflatables for just relaxing in the water. We had a week of great sunsets on the dock and beach and a couple chillier nights to even have fires. There is an old, narrow dirt road that leads back to the cottage and parking is tight, but Adrian gave great instructions and ensured we had everything we needed. Also pretty cool to drive by Hector Falls every time we headed into Watkins Glen. Location was fantastic because while the cottage felt private, it was so close to restaurants and grocery shopping. Great place to stay!
Perfect location for exploring the Finger Lakes! We had a wonderful stay at this quaint cottage right on the shore of beautiful Seneca Lake. Very secluded and peaceful but easy access to all that the Finger Lakes region has to offer. Just a few minutes drive from Watkins Glen State Park where we enjoyed a beautiful hike and the town of Watkins Glen where you can grab some groceries or enjoy one of the restaurants. The house is very comfortable and stocked with everything you’ll need for a relaxing getaway. Sipping coffee on the porch overlooking the lake and beautiful fall foliage was magical. The host was fantastic. They responded very quickly to any questions and all of the directions/instructions were accurate and helpful. The house was VERY clean when we arrived, which is important to us. We definitely hope to return!
We had a lovely stay at Adrian’s cottage. As the description says, it’s an old fashioned lake cottage full of rustic charm- perfectly quaint and quirky-yet tastefully updated for everything you need to relax. Adrian was extremely attentive and checked in on us when we lost power due to some huge thunderstorms that went through the area. We had intentions of doing some excursions to nearby wineries or Ithaca but the call of the lakeside dock and shale beach were too enticing. We read in the Adirondack chairs and played games at the picnic table. At night, the area is softly lit with solar lights. Lots of windows open that allow lake cross breezes that keep the cottage comfortable even on warm days. We certainly felt recharged after our week.
We enjoyed our week so much. Location was great and we loved being right on the water and the dock was great for jumping I to throw water or just sitting and taking in the view.
We had a great time at the cottage. The house is right on the lake and very convenient to Watkins Glen. It was everything we wanted, and the car park was an added bonus since we had some rain the week we were up there. We'd definitely visit again!
Everything you need, plenty of space, privacy in the house and privacy outside too. Charming space and furnishings. Extremely convenient to the town, the lake, winery's and parks.
My sister and I loved our week at Adrian's house. A gorgeous little brook with waterfalls runs right beside the house and the sunsets looking west across the lake are spectacular! The house is a perfect location, so near Watkins Glen and is cozy and cute with nearly everything you need. I wish I had known that the water isn't potable and we had to exchange two 5 gallon jugs of water during our stay at the local Walmart.
Wonderful dealing with owner. House well equipped with wonderful back porch overlooking Seneca Lake. Very quiet and secluded. Well located to all attractions
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect...a short drive to Watkins Glen and great wineries with amazing views. The house Was comfortable and had everything we needed. The neighboring creek provided relaxing background sounds for a soothing nights sleep. Property manager was easy to get in touch with. Will look to stay here again in the future.
Although it rained most of the time we visited it was still great. The location is amazing. The waterfall right outside the back door was awesome and relaxing. The lake was a little cold because of the nasty weather but we definitely enjoyed ourselves!!!

Why they chose this property
This cottage and the one next door have been in the family since the early 1900's. As are many of the older cottages , it is a true conglomeration of the many generations who have loved it over the years. It is quirky and the complete antithesis of "HGTV" but offers a unique and tranquil setting with a fantastic private beach and dock hard to find along the lake today.
What makes this property unique
The cottage was originally built 1910 as a bunk room for a larger family cottage next door and over the years several additions /improvements have been added, though the vintage charm remains. The oldest part, we now call the front living room, opens onto a covered porch overlooking the lake. The original bunks were made of logs like the porch railings and were replaced years ago. We just can’t bring ourselves to eliminate them altogether. The kitchen with its wrap around windows, and small upstairs bedroom were added in the 30’s. The larger living/dining room in the back, added in the 70’s.
