Based on authentic 19th-century designs, our temperature-controlled the Conestoga Family Wagons ate Welcome Valley Village offer a unique experience for adults and kids alike.
Enjoy roasting marshmallows over a campfire, sleeping under the stars, and waking up to a stunning sunrise just like the pioneers of old–except you'll have electricity, Wi-Fi, a private bathroom, and plush bedding. Old Copper Wagon at Welcome Valley Village sleeps up to four between a luxurious King bed and twin bunks.
The Space:
Welcome Valley Village, a Timberroot Rustic Retreat, consists of six beautiful cabins and three glamping wagons on a 17-acre gated property, surrounded by lush forests, winding trails, and over 900 feet of private riverfront on the world-famous Ocoee River. This property is owned and operated by Timberroot, a small, family-owned business that specializes in creating rustic spaces that allow you to relax, recharge, and reconnect with nature.
All three of our Conestoga Wagons are corralled around a fire pit to provide the most authentic portrayal of pioneer life. While we want you to feel like you are traveling down the Oregon trail, our wagon experience includes all the modern amenities of a feature-rich glamping experience.
Old Copper comfortably sleeps a family of 4 between the memory foam king bed and comfy twin bunks. The wagon's kitchenette includes a microwave, mini fridge, coffeemaker, and rustic washbasin sink with hot & cold running water.
You'll have private access to the ¾ bath assigned to your wagon in our custom-built bathhouse. In addition, you will have access to a shared utility room with a washer and dryer.
Enjoy the wonders of nature by sharing a meal with your family at your private dining pavilion or lounging around the shared fire pit and enjoying the crackle of a good campfire.
For a more private experience, rent all three wagons and have the shared amenities to yourself.
Please Note: We have a strict 4 person maximum, and are not able to accommodate more than 4 guests per wagon including children and infants.
NO PETS are allowed in the wagons under any circumstances. Welcome Valley Village offers several pet-friendly accommodations if you'd like to bring your four-legged friends.
Guest Access:
Your wagon features a lock box at the door for easy, self-service check-in. Your code to the box will arrive as check-in approaches.
Beyond your wagon, Welcome Valley Village is yours to explore. Wander 17 forested acres bordered by the Ocoee River along beautifully landscaped trails and shared common areas. Head down to the riverside dock to swim, fish, or drop in a tube, SUP, or kayak. The Riverside Pavilion is open to all guests except when reserved for private events. We just ask that you be respectful of fellow guests as you enjoy the property.
The Neighborhood:
Welcome Valley Village sits in the heart of Tennessee's Ocoee River corridor — where the Cherokee National Forest meets world-class whitewater. The Ocoee River hosted the 1996 Olympic kayak and canoe events, and today it's one of the best places in the Southeast for rafting, tubing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Beyond the river, there's no shortage of adventure. Hike to Benton Falls, mountain bike the Tanasi and Chilhowee trail systems, go horseback riding through the forest, or soar through the treetops on a zipline course. Parksville Lake is just down the road for swimming, fishing, and boating. For a scenic day trip, drive the Cherohala Skyway or head to the charming twin towns of Copperhill, TN and McCaysville, GA. Chattanooga and its attractions — Rock City, Ruby Falls, the Tennessee Aquarium — are about an hour away. Out here, the adventure doesn't stop at the front door.
Getting Around:
Welcome Valley Village is located approximately three miles from the town of Benton, Tennessee, and 20 minutes from Cleveland, Tennessee.
Travel in this area typically requires access to an automobile and the property is ideally situated to reach dozens of Tennessee attractions by car.
The property is roughly 20 minutes from the Ocoee Whitewater Center, 50 minutes from Chattanooga, 90 minutes from Knoxville, and 2 hours from both entrances to Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge.

Other Things to Note:
Bathroom:
Your wagon includes access to a private, full bathroom located in the nearby bathhouse. You'll receive your own key — it's all yours. Shower included.
Pet Policy:
This unit does not allow pets. If you're looking to bring your furry adventurer along, Welcome Valley Village offers several pet-friendly accommodations. Any evidence of a pet during your stay will result in a minimum $100 fine.
No Smoking:
To keep things fresh for every guest, all Timberroot properties are smoke-free indoors. This includes cigarettes, vapes, and e-cigarettes. Please refer to your rental agreement for full details, including any fees associated with this policy.
Firewood:
Only firewood purchased from Timberroot may be burned in indoor fireplaces. No firewood is supplied to the Conestoga Wagons. For outdoor fire pits, guests may bring their own wood — but it must be certified, heat-treated, and properly labeled per Tennessee state law. Out-of-state firewood that isn't certified is prohibited. Need to purchase firewood? Add it through your boarding pass or contact Guest Services at least 48 hours before check-in. Please note there are no vendors on-site at Welcome Valley Village.
Pests:
Our properties are nestled in the woods — which is part of the magic. We invest in regular professional pest treatments and our team works hard to keep critters where they belong: outside. That said, the occasional insect or curious woodland visitor can make an appearance. If that happens, give our Guest Services team a call and we'll send our grounds crew out promptly. We do ask guests to help out by keeping doors shut, screens closed, and tidying up as you go. By booking with us, you acknowledge that nature may occasionally pop in to say hello, and these encounters are not eligible for refunds.
Surveillance Cameras:
For your safety, cameras are located at the front gate (facing in and out), the firewood kiosk, the pavilion overlooking the river, and the front of the bathhouse facing the road.
Most Importantly:
Get out there and make some memories. That's what you're here for.
Interaction with Guests:
Welcome Valley Village is pleased to offer contactless check-in and check-out. The gate code for the property and your individual cabin lockbox code as well as detailed check-in instructions will be emailed to you approximately 24 hours prior to your check in time.
If you have any questions, comments, or experience any difficulties during your stay, our team of dedicated, locally based Guest Services representatives are on-call and available to help from 8 am to 11 pm every day.

What a dreamy little nature getaway! This unique stay was everything we'd hoped for and more. It's new, beautiful & well-cared for. The wagons have everything you need with high quality design & details. The fire-pit was a great hangout, the private tables are perfect for each family, and the bathrooms were very clean. Great to have a washer/dryer on site after rafting the Ocoee. Loved jumping off the dock at the pavilion & resting in the hammock after a long day. Loved waking up to the sounds of nature & sunlight coming through the trees. This was the perfect place to unplug & relax-- a special stay we'll never forget & can't wait to come back to!
