Excellent property. Description was 100% accurate. Cabin was spotlessly clean and appointed with everything you need for nice getaway. Tom the host was fantastic to deal with. Excellent communication. We had an outstanding long weekend getaway. Would definitely book again.

It was absolutely a beautiful cabin equipped with everything to have fun on the river! Or just relax with the camp fire!! The chef’s kitchen was also so well equipped! The decor was beautifully decorated! Tom the host was so friendly and helpful! We’ll definitely be staying again!! If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!

An excellent choice for family vacation. Arrival was without issues, and our first walk-through made us smile. By the time the rest of our family arrived, we were already on the observation deck watching the river. We cooked out on the grill or fire pit every day, and made breakfast in the kitchen every morning. The kitchen is well stocked with stainless and glass cookware/bakeware. Above everything else, it is quiet, which is exactly what we wanted. Loved the kayaks and the tubes for the river. The screened in porch was fantastic for relaxing when the day was winding down. You couldn't ask for a better location for kayaking or for better hosts. We definitely recommend and will be back!

Clarion River Retreat

Great time on the Clarion River. We have stayed at 7 different beach houses at the North Carolina seashore, this vacation rental is very well stocked. Owner has put in a lot of thoughtfulness. Entire family enjoyed our time there.

Relaxation in the Woods

We had a great time relaxing at this peaceful retreat on the river in the woods. The tranquility, coupled with the ability to be out on the water, was a welcome chance to unplug. The retreat was clean and had everything needed for a week of relaxation and family time.

Annual Cook Forest Vacation

Just a great place to vacation. We had several days of rain and my grandkids had plenty to do inside while watching the storms. Access to the river was easy and convenient, fishing, swimming and rafting was really nice. The Owner had bikes, canoes, kayaks, games, fishing gear and much more for entertaining the family. We had a great time.

Fun Summer Place

Loved the place! It literally had everything you would need for outdoor activities and even kitchen supplies. Perfectly set up and we all had a great time and will definitely be back. The only surprise was the pictures make it seem the fire pit and river access is part of the property but you do have to cross the road to access these amenities.

Peaceful cabin on the river

Spotlessly clean cabin in the middle of a peaceful and beautiful forest. Perfect in every way! So many extras. We were able to have my senior citizen mom enjoy Cook Forest with this comfortable place to stay. Wonderful memories created. Looking forward to visiting again.

My Mom's Roots

My husband, children and my 88 year old Mom returned to Cook's Forest after staying many summers as a child. My Mom grew up in Western PA and has many relatives and roots nearby. This house was PERFECT as it accommodated us all comfortably and we lacked for nothing. Highly recommend and we may return in the future.

Great House

The house was amazing. It was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. The kitchen had every appliance you could think of. We enjoyed having the canoes, tubes, and kayaks to use on the river. The porches were phenomenal spaces to use for relaxing. The owner is super friendly, helpful, and easy to communicate with. Our trip couldn’t have been better.

Wonderful!

The Clarion River Retreat is all that is advertised...and more! The house is spacious, clean and provides tons of amenities. The front screened in porch is great for breakfast and sitting in the evening --no bugs! The kitchen is large and extremely well stocked. There is a living room for watching TV, the bar area in the back for quiet reading (or a different TV watching experience), and there are multiple other areas, inside and out, with tables to eat or play cards. The firepit area by the river is lovely and we loved the fact that we could borrow inner tubes and bikes and play croquet on the lawn. All in all this place is great and we loved every minute of it!

Tom and Mary’s cabin was everything we had hoped for! Our grandchildren even said they just wanted to stay!I had reservations when I read in one of the reviews that the fire pit and the access to the river were across a road especially with little children, but it was not a busy road at all and the river access and the fire pit felt so private like an extension of the front yard. We hiked the trail up the hill right behind the cabin to the most wonderful little clearing and the children built a tp out of sticks against one of the beach trees. The whole experience outside was just delightful. From the mist on the river in the morning with coffee and yoga, to the full moon, meteors! otters!! deer, sun sets, talks around the fire and karaoke in the evening. The cabin itself was immaculate and yet very homey. There was plenty of everything a kitchen needs. We even made waffles! We couldn’t find an electric hand mixer (we made a little cake while we were there) but there was a plethora of flashlights and marshmallow sticks and towels and blankets and rooms and spaces for everyone to spread out and be. It was everything we needed. It was perfect. Thank you for this lovely weekend…. and the thoughtful hoodie you left for Stephen. He put it on right away!

This vacation rental is amazing! This is the third time we have stayed here and each time we have been 100% satisfied. Our family travels the world and have stayed in dozens of vacation homes and this is one of the best equipped homes we have ever encountered. There are kayaks, canoes, float tubes, fishing gear, life vests, bikes, cornhole and other yard games - and that's just some of the items in the storage shed. Inside the house, every time we thought of something we "needed" it was there. Just some of the "extras" - first aid kits, tons of towels, a battery case, headlamps and flashlights, waterproof cases for your phone on the river, coolers, grill with extra propane, games, air fryer, tons of camp chairs and three separate outdoor seating areas. And that's just some of the amenities. The location is just perfect to enjoy all that Cook Forest has to offer. Your own private firepit and seating area by the river, a great yard to play games and a house that has two living rooms and two full bathrooms. Everything was clean and well prepared for our arrival. Entry was easy and communication with Tom was excellent. If this place is available for your dates - grab it right away. You will NOT be disappointed!

Location location location!!!

The views, river, wildlife and house were amazing. Tom was fantastic and was easy to get a hold of. You can take his canoe and kayaks right to the river.
