About this property
Olympic Forager House on the water with hot tub and kayaks
A waterfront home we built our life around — hot tub on the deck, kayaks at the shore, and the whole Olympic Peninsula out the front door. We're Michael & Echo, and this is our place. Watch for seals and otters in the bay, enjoy morning coffee with sunrise from the deck, and use us as basecamp for Olympic National Park and the rest of the Olympic Peninsula.
Downstairs there's a queen and a twin in one bedroom; climb up to the loft and you've got a king bed of your own, sun-drenched most mornings. Two full baths (one down, one at the loft) plus a half bath downstairs, so nobody's waiting in line.
The kitchen's fully stocked with a gas range for real cooking, not just reheating, and there's a French press and a coffee machine in the breakfast nook for whichever your morning calls for. Cooking with a view of the bay is any chef's dream.
The hot tub looks out over the water and runs all year, so it's just as good for warming up after a winter walk as it is for a summer evening. Come spring through fall, the deck opens up further — dining table, hammock, gas grill, room for yoga — and the kayaks and paddle boards come out for launching straight off our private shoreline. The kayaks and paddle boards come out for launching straight off our private shoreline: three single kayaks, one double, and two paddle boards, so everyone in your group can be on the water at the same time. When the weather turns, the indoor fireplace and the spacious living and dining space keep things easy.
A few things worth knowing before you book:
This is our real home, not a 24-hour serviced resort. Like anywhere, occasional things need attention — and being rural means getting a repair technician out can sometimes take a little extra time.
There's a cliff down to the water, reached by a steep staircase — please keep a close eye on kids and pets.
Dogs are welcome. Please clean up after them, and keep them on the designated lawn area rather than the rest of the yard — we're restoring native plants on the property.
Drive times to nearby attractions:
Hurricane Ridge / Lake Crescent — ~40 mi, 1 hr Rialto Beach — ~90 mi, 2 hr Hoh River Rainforest — ~110 mi, 2.5 hr Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge — 15 mi, 25 min
Sequim (Costco, Walmart, Safeway, QFC) — 6 mi, 10 min Port Townsend — 26 mi, 40 min Port Angeles (Black Ball Ferry to Victoria) — 22 mi, 30 min
Olympic National Park is huge — wherever you're staying, expect real driving. We recommend one or two stops a day so there's time to actually enjoy the scenery.

The place was very nice. Enjoyed our stay. Weather was very wet coming and going, but it is mid-March and expected. Owner was attentive and helped fix an issue with the oven during our stay. Very peaceful and serene in Sequim, I love it there. We w
Great house in a great location. Staying right off of an incredible bicycle trail is amazing. The house is well equipped and has excellent views, we will be back.
Lovely property, both inside and outside. So well appointed and hosts are very generous. And the location is relaxing and beautiful. A wrap around deck right on Sequim Bay was enjoyable from sunrise to sunset. We spent a lot of time there and in the hot tub, as well.
I searched for a property with a view and hot tub. This home did not disappoint! Very clean and owner had great communication. My husband and I loved our stay! Highly recommend!
Great place to relax and enjoying breath taking views of the Puget Sound. Hot tub is ready upon arrival and the hosts have clear instructions on how things work. Dog friendly too! Pretty sure we heard a bobcat growling on our first night here and there’s lots of other wildlife around to see.
This property was very well equipped, clean and had a great view. It was very quiet and relaxing. The hot tub on the deck was very nice. Note that the property owners are in a house on the same property. Their house open to the water and the house you are renting.
This property worked out perfectly for us. The bay views are perfect to wake up to and enjoy during a sunset soak in the hot tub. I believe the property owners live in another dwelling on the property but we never saw them so we felt like we had it to ourselves.
We enjoyed our stay. We were able to view a variety of wildlife, bald eagles and sea otters were close by each day.
The house had nice touches of wildlife and nature books with posters of local wildlife on the walls. The owners responded promptly when we had a question.
We would visit again.

We are glad to hear that Charlie and his group enjoyed their stay from the review but we are not clear why it was marked it as one-star. We are unable to get in touch with Charlie nor Vrbo can help in this case. Just want to let future guests reading the reviews know. We are looking forward to providing you a great experience as always.
We travel a lot and have stayed at a lot of short term rentals.. this property probably is our favorite. The house is stocked, but the host has gone above and beyond to provide additional activities to do on the property- kayaking, paddle boarding, watching wildlife, or hanging out on the deck or in the hot tub and maybe even eating some berries from the property. Can't wait to return! 100% would recommend
This house provided us with such a beautiful, comfortable, and serene place to rest and reconnect. The views are gorgeous, the house pristine, the beds comfortable, the hot tub, deck, and on-suite bathtub excellent places to relax, and the kitchen is a dream. We even loved the dishes! So thankful for such a wonderful place to get away and relax. Everything was excellent. We would love to go back!
This is a lovely house with stunning views. Michal and Echo are wonderful hosts and the house is well-stocked (including fixings for s'mores.) Only complaint is that the soaking tub was out of order during our stay but we very much enjoyed soaking in the hot tub.
We were visiting local relatives and wanted to stay by the water in a quiet setting. This home was perfect in every way - beautiful view, great deck and outside amenities. If you like to cook, the kitchen has everything you could possibly need, including a spectacular view. Great hiking trail starts close to the house, and fun on the water is a staircase away. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect location! Michael is a great host - his family is adorable.
This was our first time in Sequim or the Olympic Peninsula but wanted to be on the water in case we didn’t make it out for a hike. This home was perfect for our quick weekend getaway as a family! The views each morning were beautiful. The kitchen has everything we could think of. My son loved the loft and bath tub, and we’re hoping to come back when it’s a bit warmer to use the jacuzzi. We will definitely be back this spring!
We had a wonderful stay. The house has a fantastic view, hot tub, kayaks, and board games. Convenient to get to Sequim, Port Townsend, Port Angeles, and Olympic NP. The owner Michael was very nice and flexible. We brought our dog and unfortunately, he barks a lot when we were out. But Michael let us know and we worked out a solution. Spend 5 nights and had a great time.
This is a nice waterfront getaway that has walking trails right out the front door. It’s a new listing, with the basis on amenities covered, though some room to grow with more comfortable lounging furniture and bed. Also, the home may be more suitable for warmer months as colder weather requires noisy wall heaters to be ON to heat rooms. A bit of a distraction with such a quiet and peaceful view.

About the host

We moved from the California Bay Area to here mid June 2022 for the unmatched natural beauty of the Olympics. We both work in tech and are fortunate to be able to work remotely. We live just down the path in the smaller cabin, so you'll have full privacy in the main house — but we're close enough to help fast if you need anything.
