Escape to Highclere, a luxury beachfront home with stunning bay views. You'll feel right at home in this comfortable almost 2,000 s.f., 4-bedroom, 3-bath home with a well-equipped kitchen and wood-burning fireplace. We recently refurnished Highclere with quality, high-end furniture.

We are located in Pajaro Dunes on Monterey Bay with an abundance of sea life; otters, dolphins, whales, sea lions, and many different bird species. The gated community of Pajaro Dunes amenities include three pickleball courts, five tennis courts, sand volleyball, basketball, and horseshoes. Highclere is a few minutes walk from beautiful Palm Beach. We provide several beach chairs, boogie boards, and beach towels for your use and enjoyment. We are conveniently located on Monterey Bay near world-class golf and charming seaside towns. Santa Cruz, Capitola, Monterey, and Carmel-by-the-Sea are all within 20 miles of this hidden gem.

Highclere comfortably sleeps eight with two en-suite primary king bedrooms on the upper, main level and two queen beds sharing a bath on the lower level; there are TVs in every bedroom Unfortunately, with our sweeping entry stairway and internal spiral stairway to the lower level, this is not an ideal home for those with mobility issues or young children.

The kitchen is well-appointed with double ovens, an induction cooktop, a bottom freezer fridge, and a microwave. We keep ample dishes and glassware on hand to adequately service your group. We supply plenty of paper products, coffee, firewood/starter logs, shampoo/conditioner, and body wash.

Beautiful Property with Attentive Onsite Management

We recently enjoyed a stay at this beautiful property, complete with great amenities. The setting was perfect for our gathering, as we stayed with another family on the property and coordinated with two other families staying nearby homes. The kitchen was well-stocked, and the rooms were comfortable, ensuring a pleasant stay for all of us. It was quite convenient having the property manager onsite - she even greeted us on the beach. We appreciated her prompt responses to our inquiries. We did encounter a hiccup with the house instructions, but she was very understanding of our confusion and very responsive & gracious. We suggested a rewording of the instructions to make them clearer for future guests & the property manager was very open to our suggestion. One thing to note for future renters: there are cameras from neighboring properties that overlook this property, which can feel a bit intrusive. However, this didn't significantly impact our overall experience. Overall, we appreciated the attentive service and the stunning setting of the property.

No need to go anywhere else

High end house with better furnishings and supplies than any place I’ve rented ( 30-40 other houses). Great view, and can walk steps outside to dunes and beach. Only thing not perfect was that we couldn’t bring our dogs. Management (Carol) was super helpful and on top of any minor issue that we had. The kitchen, bbq, chairs on the dunes, and comfortable furnishings spell out that there really is no need to go anywhere else while you are here!!

Perfect house for multi-generational vacay

Highclere was a great house for our annual family vacation that now includes grandpa and young adult kids. The kitchen was well appointed and the dining table comfortably accommodated 7! Comfy bed linens and extra beach towels. The property manager was super responsive to a few small questions. After years of renting in Aptos, I think we've found a new favorite in Pajaro Dunes.

Pajaro Dunes

We had an incredible stay in Pajaro Dunes. The house is absolutely amazing. Right on a beautiful beach. Adirondack chairs overlooking. Sea otters playing in the surf. Beautiful sunsets. This place is everything you want for a beach trip in this location.

I thoroughly enjoy the process of hosting. It's personally very satisfying when people share their stories of special times at Highclere. Whether they are making memories, here for rest and relaxation, or secluding themselves for quiet time and work, the serenity and comfort of this home and Pajaro Dunes are hard to beat. My home is just over a dozen houses down the beach. We love it so much we've made it our primary home.

Why they chose this property

Conveniently located in the middle of Santa Cruz and Monterey, California on the beautiful Monterey Bay. This home is in a community we all feel is a hidden gem. Just 3 1/2 miles from Highway 1 at the end of some of California's fantastic agriculture fields where you may see strawberries, lettuce, kale, or Brussels sprouts getting ready for your supermarket.

What makes this property unique

Beautiful oceanfront, well-maintained, and appointed home. Our beach is flat, long (10 miles or more to the north), and clean! If you want the ocean but don't want to stroll down to the beach, you may enjoy it from the deck or Adirondack chairs at the edge of the dune. This home was furnished for the owner's personal use, not as a rental. You will see and experience the difference.
