Jerry, thank you for coming... you and your lovely wife were perfect guests (I wish I could have made the weather as perfect) It was so nice to have guests as considerate you were.
Looking forward to having you come back... you were a delight.
We rented this VRBO as a little staycation and to be near the lake. It was just that - cute, quiet, and the perfect relaxing getaway. Will definitely be back later this summer / early fall.

Mindie,
I enjoyed meeting each member of your family. It was interesting to visit with all of you. I'd love to have you come back to the cottage, you were the perfect guests.

Sunny was a wonderful host, so friendly and accomodating. Location was beautiful. Lake living but close enough to town. Was able to completely disconnect and relax, enjoy the lake, and deer in the yard. It was wonderful. Wish we were still there!

Great location. Our hostess "Sunny" was a delight. She went our of her way to make our stay wonderful. She had everything stocked. Only needed to bring our coffee. The deck is a great place for family time.

The cottage is probably best for a couple. Just 3 minutes from public fishing and picnic area and marina. Sunny couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. If you have concerns she will take care of it.

Just a short stay
That area had 6- tornado 2- weeks prior to our arrival . Lots of damage , we still stayed and enjoyed our stay . Was it the best stay ever ? No !
Was it the worst stay ever? No .
Nothing we couldn’t live with .
We had a great time there! Thank you Sunny for your cute cotrage!
The cottage is a cute 2 bedroom place with an amazing deck! It’s smallish, but was fine for 3 adults. We ate our meals on the deck, watched the deer run around, relaxed & had some time to read, too. We kayaked on Beaver Lake & can’t wait to go back. Sunny was a great host. Her place had everything we needed to make our meals and it is was close to town (if we didn’t want to cook). Thanks again!

Cristina, I appreciate having 5 star guests choosing Cute Little Cottage for their stay. It was a delight to shre the cottage with your family! thank you for coming.
To start off. One of the reviews had me think a bit. But all the others were great so I knew this was someone that’s not a lake person for sure. The house was perfect. Very very clean. My wife and I and 3 boys 20 years old. My other son and his wife here just for the day on the lake. We stayed 2 nights. The boys absolutely loved the monopoly game till like 4 in the morning. The lake cove was just awesome. The pontoon boat swim deck was the bomb. 15 feet deep right off the back of the deck. Water clear enough to see your feet. We were on the swim deck from 9 am till dark Saturday. Just my family. No one else allowed down there. Was very private. Just awesome if y’all like the water and cold beer.
Sonny was the best host ever. She came over Saturday night just to see if all was going well and than back on Sunday to see if our stay was what we expected. That’s a great host. To take her time out to see if all was well. I told her we will be back for sure. We live close by so yes we will be going back to swim boat many more times. Thanks Sonny for a great stay. Liked: Communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Nice deck. Great cove. But…
VERY small house. Kitchen needs a good deep clean, all linens need to be replaced, and AC doesn't work great. It said it slept six so we were going to have our adult children and possibly a cousin stay too but it was soooo small that we had to send them somewhere else (luckily we had some family in NWA so they went there). The guest beds were too small for anyone that is not petite or a child. It might sleep two adults and four children, but you CANNOT put 6 adults in that house. The front window had a big crack and there was a sliding glass door that had been totally shattered (had not fallen out but one touch and it probably would have given way). Two of the bedroom blinds broke when we tried to close them (ugh). The house needs a lot of work. Some updating and replacing kitchen accessories would be a huge improvement. Kitchen was grungy, had grease build up on a lot of areas, and I had to wash everything before using it. Sunny, the host, is a lovely and hospitable person, so I sent detailed feedback privately but didn't get a response. The deck is great (spent most time out there, luckily it wasn't unbearably hot that weekend), and the cove with the deck boat is great!
The house was very nice and Sunny was friendly and accommodating. Her communication was excellent. Lots of amenities and comfortable spaces. We loved the deck!
The kids loved walking down to the cove to fish/play. The neighborhood was quiet and the deck added to the usable space. We ended up with two kids on the couches and two kids in the twin beds. The pullout was fine, but the youngest didn’t want to share a bed. Overall, accessibility to the lake was very easy and the setting was quiet and peaceful.
I appreciate all my guests... sometime they are such good memories. Your family (each one) hold a special spot as my favorite guests. Please come visit again... you make my hard work worth while. I so enjoyed meeting you and sharing the Cottage with you!

I'm pleased that the cottage worked well for your stay. Is it justified to leave a 3 star review because you did not look at the photos before you rented the cottage?
Cute LITTLE Cottage says it all.
Everything is shown in the photos. You will find what is shown in the pictures. It is not outdated... It is decorated in retro style. If you don't like retro decor... choose another rental. Don't leave a review like this due to your taste in decor.

Dirty and outdated.
The owner was really nice. The place was not really cute. It was last decorated in the 1980s. The cottage was dirty from 5’ 6” up. The owner came in and repaired several things after we arrived. The air conditioning was came from two loud window units. One of them is located inches from the bedside. The lake side where access was available was trashy and steep. Available appliances were either incomplete or ancient. We left earlier. However the owner was very kind to allow my husband to return for the night after he found himself to far from home to return that night.

I guess I need to clarify the statements made in this review.
After 10 years of hosting guests, I know immediately when a guest is going to be a problem. There will be nothing I can do to please them. It’s particularly hard when one guest is very pleasant and the other arrives riding a broom.
MY PAST GUEST chose “Cute Little Cottage” as the best descriptive name for the Cottage. It was 1st opened Nov 2009 not 1980.
The Photos show the decor, they are NOT edited. I’m sorry you’re not familiar with Retro Decor & can’t appreciate it’s charm.
The AC is shown in the Photos as are the appliances. Its a fully applianced cottage. A part for the washer was ordered & on it’s way. In the meantime I offered to do any laundry that you needed done. Rather than waiting 3 days for a service call, I installed myself, while you were out. Ancient appliances? The frig was bought in Feb & the microwave the day you came. The dishwasher & range are in perfect condition. It's not a glass-top, as guests don’t want to learn to learn proper care for those.
LOOK at the pics... all this is available for all to see ahead of time.
As for being Dirty 5’6” & up? That’s is 2’6” are being the ceiling, lights, top of doors. Really?
A little about lakes:
What you see above the water is what you’ll have under the water.
Flat access = shallow water… Steep access = deep water.
I installed very nice steps on my property which are wide, solid & clean.
Please contact the Corp Of Engineers if you don’t approve of the lake conditions. I am not allowed to touch anything below the take line. Not a rock ...not a limb.
You told me you had a very nice time, but had to return early because the kids had a school activity. When your husband called wanting to come back, it was quite late. I felt so sorry for him. He was so nice. He returned alone. He remarked that you all went to the river and had an awful time. I had already cleaned the cottage, which meant I had to do the cleaning & laundry again.
This review has nothing to do with the cottage or the lake.

Mr. & Mrs.E
We had a wonderful stay at Sunny's cottage. It was so peaceful & quiet. It was just what we needed. We especially enjoyed the huge deck and watching all the wildlife preparing for spring. The cottage is the perfect place for a relaxing get-away, while close enough for dinner & a movie. Can't thank Sunny enough for the tip about the Chicken Inn. It was delicious & a unique dining experience. Being less than 5 minutes from the cottage was a bonus! It was a great weekend!

Scenic and Peaceful!
Sunny was very accommodating on scheduling our last minute search for a place to reunite with our grandson and his family. We found the accommodations are very clean, homey and comfortable. Everything you'd expect to be there is there, so you'll find everything you'll need for a relaxing stay. The expansive and fully furnished deck is a real plus! We spent most of our time there playing board games, dining, and just reuniting with family. There's a basketball hoop for the kids along with games and plenty of reading materials. We never got the time to use the outside fire pit, but Sunny had it all ready with plenty of firewood already in place.
Speaking of plenty, we lost count on the number of deer on this property!! Lots of chipmunks too. And take Sunny's recommendation on some of the best family style fried chicken you will ever have at the Monte Ne Inn restaurant...not to be missed!
Thanks for a great stay.

Quiet nice spot, easy and comfortable.
Sunny was such a great host, she is just terrific. The cottage was clean and comfortable and well supplied with cookware dishes and everything you might need, except for food and drink. We cooked most days and got take out a few times. Sunny was kind to bring us fresh eggs. The scenery in the area is beautiful. The Cottage is about 15--20 minutes from shopping etc. in Rogers, AR, which has a really nice downtown. We were also right near the Park and Marina at Horseshoe Bend.
We were able to see wildlife, including deer and birds in the area near the cottage and at the parks (we went to Prairie Creek as well). We made day trips out to the Crystal Bridges museum for the Chihuly glass exhibit, Eureka Springs, Beaver Dam, drove the Scenic 7 and several other scenic drives, and did some shopping (Cabela's) and dining (PF Chang) at the mall. The weather cooperated most days. We fished but nothing was biting. It was June Bug season during our stay, which got bit annoying, other than that, things were very pleasant.

About the host
Hosted by Sunny
Hi! I'd like to introduce myself! I'm Sunny Lewis, the owner, architect, builder, decorator, repair woman, maid and Inn Keeper at Cute Little Cottage. …. a builder by trade, by compulsion and by God given gift; …. a lover of all living things both plant and animal; …. in awe of the beauty and wonder I see in this world. After 39 years' I still can’t believe I live here! In 2002 I lost my high school sweetheart to cancer. I continue to live in my home here at Horseshoe Bend because the beauty found in the Ozark Mountain’s, Beaver Lake, and the great neighbors I have here…. (that includes the wildlife) gives me peace beyond words! I fish, swim, kayake, bike, hike, boat, and garden daily.... then when I choose.... I clean up, change turn back into a lady and with a 15-minute drive, it all changes into the world of shopping, dining, theater, museums, concerts, and the long list of entertainments. It is a life lived in two worlds! Cute little Cottage was built for my son, daughter-in-law and my grandson. Now I have the opportunity to share it with some new friends. Life does not get any better than living where you love, loving your work, and having new friends to share it with. Really .... Come on out, sit on the deck and rock awhile! What are you waiting for? You know you want to.... See you soon, Sunny Lewis
Why they chose this property
In 1985, I moved to this property from Enid, Oklahoma with my late husband Dan, and our three children. We already knew Horseshoe Bend and Beaver Lake as the vacation spot we loved. It was quite different then. The options of things to do in no way resembles what we have at our fingertips now! What has not changed in the Horseshoe Bend Area is the same quaint, serene, almost pristine outdoor life. We really seem to have it all here.... Our Christmas Cards that year summed it up pretty well........
“We've found the rainbow’s end ... our new home is at Horseshoe Bend!”
What makes this property unique
What makes Cute Little Cottage unique is that it was built on three acres with a location having a huge diversity of activities. And yet still allows for the privacy and solitude that we need to rewind on our vacations. Here is a sampling of the activities I'm talking about and the Distances
