Note: Although we are relative newcomers on VRBO, we have 100+ five star reviews and a 4.98 rating on that other travel website... Please feel free to message us prior to booking and we would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

The Palm Springs Desert Star (ID#1875) is a classic Hacienda style 4 BR home in the heart of desirable South Palm Springs. It features a resort-like yard with a saltwater pool, spa, fire pit and outdoor grill -- as well as magnificent mountain views . The perfect destination for your gathering with friends and family or just a quiet retreat, the home exudes charm and glamour, relaxation and celebration. The many amenities include a pool table, fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, outdoor bar + grill, W/D, and 5 TVs.

The house has wonderful indoor/outdoor flow. Each of the four bedrooms of this spacious 4 bedroom home has a comfortable king size bed with high count cotton linens and its own TV. One of the bedrooms is a separate casita across the pool, with its own mini fridge and an additional daybed. The indoor dining table can easily seat your entire group, and there is also a patio for outdoor mountain view dining that is truly spectacular.

We are also very close to downtown and all of the great food and entertainment venues that Palm Springs has to offer.


OTHER DETAILS TO NOTE:
The Palm Springs Desert Star is a licensed Vacation rental operating under Palm Springs City ID# 1875. All licensed vacation rentals in Palm Springs follow vacation rental laws to remain in business. These include occupancy limits, good neighbor policies, party-free homes, no outdoor music permitted, insuring renters are over the age of 25, and a rental contract signed by the responsible renter agreeing to the rules of the house. Since we have a 4BR home, our occupancy is limited to 8 guests (plus 2 children age 12 or under).

The City of Palm Springs adds an occupancy tax of 12.5% that is charged at the time of booking.

Pool heating is available for $60 per day. It is recommended between late October and early May. You will need to let us know in advance if you want pool heat, as it takes a day or so to get it up to temperature. We also have a pool chiller that is available for guests to use during the hot summer months to cool down the pool. No charge!

We have a Tesla EV charger that guests are welcome to use. The charger is compatible with Tesla vehicles and comes with a J1772 adapter which should allow it to charge non-Tesla EVs as well. Charging is only permitted for guests who are staying at the property.

Please inquire about pets. We typically allow one small dog (around 25lbs or less) that is house trained as long as we do not have a same day turnover. Please keep your furry fella off the furniture and out of the pool/spa. We charge a flat fee of $150 + 12.5% tax.

Our hosts were instantly responsive and courteous. Location was perfect, close in to downtown and still quiet, plenty of outdoor space and lovely pool. Absolute perfection! We were a group of 5 older ladies and we all found the property to be perfect in every way! Well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of towels and very comfortable living spaces. The pool was the perfect temperature and the outdoor fire pit was so great. Hosts were great, welcoming and efficient. Issues consisted of house was a bit more dated than pictures revealed. Home & casita had a musty odor. We were aware and agreed to the PS noise ordinance of no music, outside after 10 pm, however we were told absolutely no music or loud noise outside whatsoever anytime of day. We had hoped to play music poolside before 10 pm. We paid extra for pool heat and never used the pool, the pool temp did not heat up enough. Proximity to downtown and our outings was very good. Thank you we had a great trip. PS: the golf in your city is beyond wonderful!

Great spot and great location

The property accommodated our family very well. The pool and outdoor space was fantastic. The location was great. Enough room for everyone and the kitchen had all the essentials. We rode the bikes that were provided as well. We would definitely stay here again.

Getaway Weekend

This house was such a fun spot. Location for the home is great! Backyard was the winner for the weekend! It was super private, well manicured and has a great view of the mountain side! Pool and spa were great as well! Dinners on the patio with the lights and lush bougainvillea was magical. Tons of space for everyone with the casita on top of it all! Had a blast! Glenn was super helpful and so kind to us! Owners were honestly the best we’ve rented from!

A month in Palm Springs

We booked a month stay to break up the winter months in February. Everything about our stay in the house was wonderful. From the mountain views from the back yard to the sweet quiet neighborhood, from the lovely hot tub and pool to the cozy living space inside, all our needs were met. The kitchen was stocked with utensils to cook most our meals at home, and whenever we had an inquiry to restaurants to go to if we did go out, Dan and Susan were available to recommend. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms were stocked with good linens and shower amenities. We were able to feel right at home. I would highly recommend this house due to its space, its location, and most of all its kind and help owners. My only observation worth mentioning because it applied to one in our group with mobility issues is that there is a step down to the living room from the pool room, and a step up into the kitchen. The bikes were so fun to ride into town, returning with the basket full of treasures. Dan and Susan were so helpful at every turn, truly a lovely stay, even during the atmospheric river in the desert! The hiking trail a few blocks away, South Lykken Trail, brought us up to incredible views of the valley.

Good Vibes!

We have rented vacation homes in every price category and found this moderately priced rental exceeded our expectations in many ways. It boasts classic Spanish Palm Springs architecture with features from time gone by. I liked the exterior and interior designs because they are different from other more modern (new) dwellings. However, with age comes some patina and that can be said for this home too. I embrace the vintage feel but others may want updates not found here. We loved the outdoor area and spent all of our waking hours pool side. The recreation area of the yard gets great sun each day. We paid extra for a heated pool in February and that was a smart move. We valued the separate Casita for guest privacy and extra space. We had our dog with us and he was super happy to have a fully fenced yard to roam at will. There were cabinets and cupboards that could have been cleaner and better organized but nothing serious to deter a renter. The house manager was efficient, timely, and friendly. All interactions with the owner were professional and customer service friendly. We had issues with the dishwasher and it was replaced with a new one the next day. All in all, this is a fabulous sweet getaway close to everything PS has to offer. We recommend for those looking to relax and enjoy the beautiful mountain views poolside!
