The residence itself was great. The only downside is the location. Multiple Uber drivers asked if we were in the right location… otherwise, you get what you payed for.
Came in town for football. Very comfortable, quiet and spacious. Check in and out was easy. Only thing, at night it is hard to find parking, but overall this was a great stay. 10/10
We were in town with our rowing team for a regatta, and this was a perfect spot to stay! Amenities were perfect for our needs, the living room is super spacious for some morning yoga, and the owners were responsive to any questions we had. Will definitely be saving this location for our trip here next year?
This rental is exactly what it says, Clean and Cozy! The property was absolutely perfect for our stay in Chicago. Would highly recommend and would choose this place again.
Everything was very nice inside. Great place to stay if you are planning events in Chicago. Host Alma was was extremely quick to respond and very helpful.
Apartment was clean and wonderfully furnished. Hosts were gracious and friendly. Location was convenient for quick trips into downtown. Would highly recommend!!
The unit is as expected. Three bedrooms and 1 bath. Large kitchen with a table that fits a family comfortably. I heard parking was an issue but we had no trouble at all Beds were ok but linens seemed very worn. Unit was not as clean as other VRBOs we have stated at. Crumbs on the table and counters and the toilet had dried urine on the edge of the bowl and looked like someone had sprinkled comet in the bowl but never scrubbed. The two biggest concerns: the neighborhood, West Green Park/South Austin, was not ideal. We had a man yelling at us as we arrived Friday night about our daughters. We had our teenaged daughters with us and we were not comfortable letting them go to the car by themselves. It was not a place I would walk around aloneThe owner was not responsive. I reached out about two very minor issues and only got a brief and rather unhelpful response As we were leaving the unit’s deadbolt would not lock due to low batteries I could not get a response from the owner so had to leave with just the front door of the building lockedI would not book this vrbo again. I would have chosen differently if I realized how bad the neighborhood was. I am not familiar with Chicago and didn’t know
I had a very disappointing experience with this VRBO reservation and would strongly encourage others to carefully research the location before booking. The property was advertised as being “near the United Center,” which led me to reasonably expect it was located within the immediate surrounding area. After booking, I discovered the property was actually about 10 minutes west, in the Austin neighborhood, a significant difference from how the listing was presented.Once I looked further into the area, I found numerous comments and reviews from others raising safety concerns about the neighborhood. As someone traveling for an event and expecting to safely navigate the area, this immediately became a major concern. The listing did not accurately communicate the true location context or set appropriate expectations.Because of this, I no longer felt comfortable staying at the property and requested to cancel the reservation promptly. Despite the misleading presentation and legitimate safety concerns, I only received a partial refund, which was extremely frustrating.I understand cancellation policies exist, but transparency matters. Guests should not feel financially penalized for prioritizing their safety and making alternate accommodations when a listing does not align with reasonable expectations.
Very cozy, had everything we needed for by our family of 6. Convenient location, 17 min to downtown
We had a very pleasant stay , it was clean , comfy beds for everyone and the tvs on each room were a plus. It really felt like vacation! There was always a parking spot for the van outside the building and the location is fairly close to downtown. It had everything we needed and more.
Overall great stay! Neighborhood was a little unwelcoming and limited kitchen supplies but the unit was large and spavious for all of us. Alma was such a great host and very quick to respond 😊
It was the perfect place for us to stay for a long weekend. The neighborhood was a true city area and not as quiet as the suburbs but we knew that going in. No one bothered us and people were helpful. Super close to everything.

Let me just, you get what you pay for. The space itself was accommodating enough for me and my sisters. We were able to make it work for our stay. However, there were a few downsides that are worth mentioning. The bathroom wasn’t very clean upon arrival, which was very disappointing for a group of women. The two twin beds were uncomfortable. Parking was also a major issue. One night we came back and spent nearly an hour driving around trying to find a spot. Because of that, we ended up taking an Uber the next day just to avoid losing the parking we finally found.Late at night, there were groups of guys hanging out on the corners when we returned around 1am. No one bothered us at all, and we didn’t feel frightened or threatened—just something to be aware of.The Pro of this property is that it was centrally located, took us 15 minutes to get everywhere.I tried not to rely too heavily on the mixed reviews when booking, but in hindsight, some of those concerns were valid. Overall, it’s a decent option if you’re on a budget and don’t mind a few inconveniences but we wouldn’t stay again.
