**New Listing** Location, location, location!! Welcome to our home on the (East) Mesa! Santa Barbara's premier beach neighborhood.
This home is a short walk to the ocean, beach and Shoreline Park in one direction, and short walk to the local neighborhood restaurants, coffee shops and grocery the other direction.
The space
This cozy, beachy house will be your place to relax, unwind and enjoy life! 4 bedrooms, 2 baths. Use the brand new BBQ Grill, then enjoy eating dinner out on the patio overlooking the grassy backyard, while enjoying the ocean breeze.
All new bedding, beds, towels, pillows, etc... Excellent Wi-fi. Quiet neighborhood.
Guest access
Entire home and yard. We offer self check in. The address and your personal door code will be messaged to you the day prior to your arrival and it will be texted to you the morning of your arrival as well.

We will provide information and directions to our favorite restaurants, beaches, bars, grocery stores, adult activities, kids activities, and even some other fun neighborhoods (even though we are partial to the Mesa!)

In addition to the other amenities, we provide 4 beach chairs, 8 beach towels, a beach umbrella and a beach "cabana" canopy (8' x 8'), as well as sand toys for the little ones.
Other things to note
We do not allow parties or loud music. After 8pm there should be minimal outdoor noise to be respectful of our neighbors. We have security cameras in the front and back for your safety and protection, and we have noise meters for the same reason (noise meters are non recording).

8 minute walk (0.4 miles) to the Mesa Center on Cliff where you will find Lazy Acres Grocery (local favorite high end grocery), Lighthouse Coffee, Mesa Cafe, Rose Cafe (Mexican), Mesa Burger, Blenders in the Grass and so much more!
8 minute walk along Shoreline Drive to 1000 steps beach (it's not actually 1000 steps!...maybe just 100 or so!)
10 minute walk (0.5 miles) to Shoreline Park, a long 15-acre (about half a mile long) park along the bluff overlooking the ocean...arguably Santa Barbara's most popular park.
1.3 miles to Ledbetter Beach and Shoreline Cafe (a fantastic beachside cafe where you can eat with your toes in the sand)
1.7 miles to Santa Barbara Harbor
2.3 miles to downtown (lower) State Street
2.4 miles to Stearns Wharf
2.4 miles to the Funk Zone (filled with bars, restaurants, wineries)

Great house in the neighborhood

The location is awesome as you are close to the beach with Parks within walking distance and a 5-minute drive from Downtown. The house had enough space for us and our twin 7-year-old boys and the Ping-Pong table in the backyard was a big hit. Scott was really communitive before, during and after our stay. Would definitely stay at the house again on our next visit.

Perfect Getaway

We booked a last minute getaway and were pleasantly surprised by our choice. Our teenagers enjoyed the modern amenities and the ping pong table, while my husband and I enjoyed the calm of the neighborhood and cleanliness. Thank you Scott, we’ll be back soon. V

Warning: Owner did not follow through on refund offer and violated Vrbo's extortion policy

Positive: Great neighborhood & city; accurate listing re: # bedrooms/baths, nice TV, refrigerator, hardwood floors, outside area, and outside grill (we didn’t use). Professionally cleaned & the handyman was great. Negative: No noise allowed outside after 8pm (even coming/going); surprisingly old appliances (oven circa 1960); multiple carpet stains in ALL 4 bedrooms; jagged broken shower tile; significant stains on couches and some chairs; rips along back of one couch; filthy kitchen throw rug; missing ping-pong table (the reason we booked the house); old doors; & a very loud alarm with flashing red lights in multiple bedrooms came on at 5am Christmas day when we opened a smoke detector we thought had low battery (turned out to be a different beeping monoxide detector, but no batteries anywhere). There are 3 visible control panels throughout the house - luckily we figured out how to turn the alarm off by inputting a code inside one of them. Later, the homeowner & the handyman seemed confused that the house alarm is operational. These & other issues cause an imbalance between the price and the home’s condition, but it’s livable. My warning is that the homeowner immediately (day 2) offered a discount/refund, mentioning it frequently. Before check out he tried to extort a positive review for the “promised” discount. Almost two months later the discount never materialized despite multiple outreach efforts. Vrbo has a “firm” extortion policy, but has done nothing for over a month

Michelle, I am sorry that you had a less than 5-star experience. I don't want to use this message system as a he said/she said forum. For the sake of future guests who are reading this, I would point to every other review. Every single other review on VRBO is a 5-star review. Elsewhere, we have 88 reviews with a 4.91 rating.
