About this property
Riverhouse- 1 Hr From Nyc- 2br /deck/ Hike/bike Trail/canoe/kyack
A unique opportunity to sleep and relax overlooking the majestic Hudson River only one hour from the great cultural center of New York City. Located on a quiet street that ends at an entrance to the Palisades State Park with a 5 mile bike/hiking trail along the Hudson. Very unique location with spectacular river views. You can visit the museums and theater of NYC and come home to hike and relax and listen to the sound of the river. There are stairs down to the Hudson River with a shared beach area with a patio and the use of a canoe and kayak. The river has strong currents so you must use provided life jackets for any swimming or boating activities. The house is a 5 minute drive from the Village of Haverstraw and 15 minutes from Nyack, with its charming shops and restaurants. Bear Mountain & Harriman State Park are within a half hour drive with a myriad of amazing hiking trails.

About the host
Hosted by Joan Harmon

My husband, Jim & I both grew up in the midwest- he by a lake & me on a farm but we are both artists and professors and work in Manhattan- this property made it possible for us to have it all.
Why they chose this property
The proximity to the cultural center of NYC with a State Park trail along the Hudson and a private deck and hot tub with magnificent river views- this is unique and very special. The addition of a ferry service to the Metro North makes country/city living a dream.
What makes this property unique
The majestic views of the Hudson and the sound of the water as you sleep at night and the chance to walk by the river made me fall in love- its all about the magic of the riverand having a State Park trail along the river at the end of our block.
