Mice droppings everywhere Nice property but you need to do something about the mice.
Stayed 2 nights in May 2026
Response from VrboOwner on 18 May 2026
We take cleanliness and guest experience extremely seriously, which is why we were surprised by this review. The property is professionally cleaned and professionally inspected before every stay, including this stay, and there was absolutely no evidence of mice or mice droppings before, during, or after the guest’s visit. Because the claims made in this review do not align with the documented condition of the property or findings from our team, this matter has been reported for review as a potentially false and misleading claim. We encourage future guests to look at our long history of positive reviews that consistently mention the cleanliness, care, and quality of our property. We remain committed to providing every guest with an exceptional experience.

Property was as advertised

Overall a very good property. Everything worked as expected. Some minor items - Chairs in the dining area were a bit rickety. Bedroom we stayed in didn't have end tables.

Hello Siddharthan! Thank you again for staying at Hotel California! We agree with you and placed an order for new dining chairs! As for the end tables a prior guest must have moved furniture around, but all of our bedrooms either have nightstands or side tables. I will have the cleaning crew check the location of the furniture thanks for bringing this to our attention! We hope you stay again at Hotel California! Thanks Again!

A blessing under the stars

There were 34 of us and we all slept great, played great and ate great. This place is fabulous and allowed all of us to have time to spend together away from the busyness of life. The hot tub and pool were a place to gather and fellowship. The owners were quick to respond to any questions we had. Beds were all comfortable. The oak grove was beautiful. I can't say enough. We will definitely return.

The house was large which was nice to accomodate our large group.

House was nice overall. Property is beautiful. The large room upstairs with all the bunk beds is great for large groups but it stayed very hot even with the AC unit on. We had to go buy fans to sleep. Needs an additional unit on that room. Master bed abd bath are beautiful but there needs to be some sort of door on the bathroom or even a curtain. Some things just require a little privacy. The pool was an added bonus and was large. We had a great time and close to the river. Plenty of parking and beautiful deer at sunset. We had a great time. This is our 26th year and as our party grows this house can accomodate our party.

Thanks so much for spending your 26th year tradition with us, that’s really special, and we’re honored to be part of it! We’re glad you enjoyed the property, the pool, the deer at sunset, and all the space for your group to spread out and make memories. And we appreciate the honest feedback. The “upstairs bunk room sauna experience” definitely wasn’t what we’re going for 😄 — it turns out the AC unit was low on coolant, but that’s been fixed so it should be back to keeping things nice and cool. Your note on privacy in the master bath is also fair. Everyone designs differently, and we’re glad you came in with an open mindset while staying with us. We’d love to host you again for year 27, 28, 29 and 30th of the tradition!
