We didnt stay in the house very long but it was an amazing place just big enough for my husband and i to stay in. We loved the atmosphere and the property manager was very nice and easy to talk to.

Thank you for the positive review! It was wonderful having you stay in our little cottage.
Cottage is conveniently locate in Montrose. Grocery store near by. The furnishings are dated but did have a cottage feel. I had everything I needed for my three day stay.

Thank you for taking the time to add a review. We inherited this little cottage that was already furnished so do plan on doing some updates in the future. 🙂
The check in was a little confusing. Once I met the property manager the stay was fantastic. Very cute little place right in town. I’d definitely stay there again.
This was a lovely, simple, clean and quiet place to stay. My husband and I thought the location was great to explore the Black Canyon and area golf course.

Thanks for this nice review, and so glad you enjoyed your stay at our Cottage. Ella
A quaint quiet small cottage to stay at with amenities within walking distance. Unfortunately, it was hot 95 in Montrose while there requiring use of the window air conditioner which was noisy and struggled to maintain a comfortable temperature.

Thank you for the review. So sorry the little air conditioner didn't keep you cool. It normally does a pretty good job but it was an unusually hot summer this year.
I met the housekeeper when I arrived, and it turned out that she had not been informed that there was going to be a guest (me) over the next few days. She was very sweet and apologetic. I went out to dinner with some friends, while she got the house ready for me.

Thank you for your review. I felt so bad about forgetting your reservation. First time I’ve done that and hopefully the last! So thankful for our manager/caretaker for making arrangements to get you in. We hope you enjoyed your stay and will visit again.
About the host
Hosted by Jeanett Marolf
Everett and Ella Marolf lived in the mountains west of Montrose. They raised two daughters and have three grandsons who have continued to use the property as a vacation destination. Everett was a rancher and heavy equipment operator and Ella was an artist and well known in the area for her sculptures which you can find around town including Montrose’ Botanical Gardens. Both grew up in the area. Ella from Montrose and Everett from nearby Sanborn Park. Their children and grandchildren reside in the Colorado Springs area.
Why they chose this property
Ella and Everett completely restored this little house. Everything is chosen to be cheery and easy to care of. There is a tiny Patio, that is cool in the evening. It was created especially to be a home away from home for our guest. We hope you will come and stay, and enjoy our beautiful area. We have made it a complete home on a small scale. We are sorry we could not squeeze in a washer and dryer into our tiny space, but there are Laundromats close by.
What makes this property unique
Rose Haven Cottage is in a quiet neighborhood, and is close to many of Montrose's attractions and businesses. The Hospital and Cancer Center are only 5 blocks away. It is only 8 blocks from downtown. The library, college and city pool are close by as well. One Movie theater and Local drive-in theater (summer only) are in the area as well. The Cottage has Hardwood floors and tile. Trash service every Thursday. You are only less than an hour from the Colorful towns of Telluride and Ouray and the Scenic San Juan Mountains. Day trips can be included to Black Canyon, Silverton and Durango and Mesa Verde, as well as the Colorado National Monument in Grand Junction. There is wonderful mountain biking, and a club in town who organizes trips and a bike train on our block. You can stay in the winter to ski, go ice climbing, fishing and hiking or just sight seeing. Montrose also has a wonderful recreation center too. There are Golf courses nearby and a walking and bike path. Don’t forget the Hot Springs Pool in Ouray.
