Welcome to The Branch at Afton Mountain Retreat in the heart of Brewery Trail/Route 151, Vineyard country and the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Branch is located 1/8th mile from Veritas Vineyard. It is within 10 minutes to every brewery, vineyard, distillery and cidery along Route 151 & Crozet, 1 mile from the newly opened Blue Ridge Tunnel and 20 minutes to Wintergreen Resort for winter fun! Completely remodeled and ready to spoil the best guests who simply want to unwind.

Hi there! My husband, Damond and I built our forever home on one acre in the lovely town of Crozet! We met while attending the University of Virginia and we got married and lived in Charlottesville after graduating. We love Charlottesville but just needed more space for our kids to run so we built our home in Crozet. We spend a lot of time in the nearby area of Afton along Route 151 going on hikes, visiting the local breweries and vineyards - all the things we recommend to our guests to do! We not only own the spaces that we rent out to our amazing guests but we spend time in those spaces as a family. I am a Realtor at Nest Realty and being a super host has been an avenue of real estate that I enjoy. We built and remodeled our properties and take a lot of pride in them to attract our guests to our little slice of heaven in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The area is rural with homes spaced out on 2-10 acres. Most homes are lived in by the owners so please be respectful of noise as they live here full time. Veritas Vineyard is 200 meters down the road and Afton Mountain Vineyard is about 1 mile away. They are located among residential homes all on larger parcels of land. The neighbors behind us own cattle that sometimes graze along the wire fence in the back yard.

There is a very large U shaped driveway with plenty of off street parking for every guest if they drive themselves. It can easily accommodate very large vehicles with no issues.

There is a large U Shaped driveway that can accommodate vehicles if every guest were to drive as well as a large tour bus if you decide to hire vehicle transportation during your stay. If you are touring vineyards and breweries, many guests will contact local transportation companies that specialize in these tours and pickup/drop off from The Branch.

The house fit our needs wonderfully. We did not spend much time at the house as we had a family event for the weekend, but the house could very easily support an entertaining family weekend away.

This was our 3rd trip to The Branch at Afton Mountain. We love this home because it is close to many wineries and breweries, but also very kid friendly. Our daughter did not want to leave she was having so much fun in the basement. Dawn and Damond are very responsive hosts. We can’t wait to return!

Lovely Mountain House

Great Week!

The house was absolutely lovely—well-stocked and thoughtfully put together. We especially appreciated the extra fridge downstairs and all the small details. We spent a relaxing week there with visits from our kids and grandkids. It was a great place to gather, and the grandkids loved playing in the basement. We also enjoyed exploring the nearby wineries and breweries—so many great spots nearby! Dawn and Damond were wonderful hosts and made communication easy. We would definitely stay here again.— C.W.

Such a pretty house in a beautiful setting across the road from Veritas Winery. We enjoyed our weekend exploring Afton and Charlottesville. This house was perfect. Very nicely decorated, comfortable beds and great location.

Great Property

Our stay at this property was so enjoyable. The house is attractively furnished with anything you could possibly need for a great stay and is immaculate. Location is also a plus. Wonderful home in Afton

Looks fresh inside and out, very well outfitted with everything you need. Very thoughtfully done with families with kids in mind. Plenty of glassware, towels, and the basics so no need to go shopping. Nice tips in advance of the stay as well. Will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful House

We had such a great time on our stay. There were so many extra touches in this house that made this stay even better. Everything was super clean. Beautiful location and close to many breweries and wineries. Basement area would be excellent for kids although we didn’t bring ours along on this trip. Both nights we stayed, we sat in the screened in porch area at night with a fire going and it was so cozy. Definitely recommend!!

Beautiful, spotless, and well-equipped home!

This property is beautiful, well-located, and most importantly (for me), very clean! So tastefully decorated with fun touches for the kids like a porch swing and air hockey table in the basement. We enjoyed our stay and hope to come back soon. It was the perfect spot to visit wineries (and a polo match), head into Charlottesville, and go apple picking.

Perfect Spot in Afton

Great house that has everything you could want, especially if you're the type to go out all day exploring agritourism and come back to a cozy house to make and enjoy dinner in. We definitely enjoyed the screened in porch with fireplace the most. Bedrooms and bathrooms are nice. It was an adult-only trip so while we did not use the basement play area, I was able to escape to do some work...no rest for the weary! If you like Afton wineries, this is the ABnB for you.

Beautiful Home Close to All Sorts of Ammenities

The Branch far and away exceeded our expectations! Our friend group traveled to the area for a spontaneous ski weekend and Wintergreen resort, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dawn's property. The house is only about 20 minutes from the slopes, and 3-5 minutes from a wide array of breweries and wineries! Everything within the property was meticulously cleaned and you could tell that a lot of love and care went into the design of the house. We will for sure be back again - this time for much longer!
