Would Stay Here Again
This is a great location for visiting all of the major spots in and around Banner Elk. Grandfather Mountain, Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain, Linville Falls, Linville Caverns. The house was clean with only dust in the corners and on the lights and fans. The oscillating fans could use a could dusting, we did not turn them on. We are a bit of a clean freak family and would not have stayed if we did not feel the home was clean enough to our standards. The upstairs rooms were a good size and the upstairs bathroom was relatively large with 3 females sharing the same space and not feeling crowded. We did not utilize the hot tub even though we checked it out and it appeared clean and maintained. Uncertain if the chemical levels would be adequate. Quite to our surprise, the pool guy knocked on our door during our stay to test the water and treat it which was reassuring. Would definitely recommend staying here as we would stay here again if we return.

Perfect Mountain Retreat
The property is set in a beer community. The house itself is very well maintained; there was nothing that we needed upon arrival which is very nice. The icing on top was that they already had the hot tub on and a Christmas tree up lite when we arrived making it that much cozier. All the rooms were clean and there was plenty of space for everyone. We would recommend this home to our family and friends for a relaxing getaway.

Disappointed
No fault of the homeowners, but our stay was a disappointment. The house was fine! Comfortable and nicely appointed for the holidays! If you’re taller than 5’5” stay downstairs, the A frame ceilings make for right living corridors. Dishes were questionable and needed washing before use, but we didn’t mind. The main floor bathroom had tank problems and needed to be filled manually. The biggest problem was that we were told that the hot tub was in working order just 24 hours before check in. Unfortunately we arrived to a 66 degree tub. We contacted Vacasa immediately and we’re told to wait for a response from their local team. We requested updates throughout the day, only to be given the same response. At one point we were told someone would be checking on the issue that day. But to no avail. No one came. So, for 48 hours we sat with no hot tub and no detailed information about a resolution, just more “fluff”… “We will let you know when he hear back from the “local team”. It turns out that Vacasa knew lol along that the hot tub was broken and the needed heating element would not arrive for several days (after checkout). So, we went our entire 3 day stay with a 66 degree hot tub. They have offered us a $45 refund. LOL! We rented the home FOR THE HOT TUB. Sure, things happen. But they knew it was non-operational before our stay and misled us to believe it was working. NC Vacasa needs to be held accountable for quality control before telling customers all is good. Beware.
