A lovely spot and a lovely host! Couldn't have been better. I told Dee that we'd be walking to a conference each day and she plotted the best walking route for us and even offered to drive us through it so we'd be sure not to get lost!
This is a wonderful property with outstanding & attentive hosts, Dee & Kevin. The home is beautifully decorated with comfortable furnishings & all the necessities of feeling “at home”. My absolute favorite feature are the views of our hosts lovely back yard garden & the city view of the bay from the back windows & deck. We’ve booked several stays at this property now, but I never tire of watching the dark early morning twinkling lights of the city & Bay Bridge transition to the shimmering details of the Oakland & San Francisco skylines. Dee appropriately mentioned that view “can’t accurately be captured with a camera” & I so agree! Let’s not forget to mention the sunsets behind the SF skyline are also equally beautiful. We highly recommend this “peaceful, comfortable Oakland retreat”.
Home was clean, and the host was very communicative. The views from the back deck are gorgeous!!! We enjoyed our stay, and when in the area, we would love to stay here again!
This is an excellent property for extended stays with full amenities & an awesome view of the Oakland & San Francisco skylines! The neighborhood is safe, quiet & walkable (if you can manage some hill work)!
Lovely home. It is very clean and feels spacious. Comfy beds, nice neighborhood and incredible views of San Francisco. Dee is a wonderful host and we hope to stay here again!
We cannot say enough good things about the house. It truly was like a home away from home. Dee thought of everything. Example, night lights, paper products, fully stocked with kitchen equipment, lovely towels and the nicest sheets. The beds are comfortable. Plenty of closet space. I just loved the little sitting area in main bedroom. Also, the sweet scent of the flowers from the beautiful gardens outback. I could go on and on.The house was so spacious and SPOTLESS. I'd like to know her secret to her streakless windows. The washer and dryer worked great. The fridge with ice maker was very cold. The view is spectacular. We spent most nights out there while cooking on the grill and relaxing on the comfortable furniture. Parking was no problem.Dee was extremely friendly and answered questions within minutes. We will certainly try to book this lovely home if we return to Oakland.
Exceeded expectations in terms of home, amenities and check-in. Stunning views, comfortable beds and sweet residential neighborhood. Host thought of everything! Truly a home away from home. Easy access to highway for travel all around the Bay Area, too!
We really enjoyed this rental. It was very well stocked with everything we needed. The view was magnificent!I also have to say the quality of paper products was exceptional! See - Thanks for all your help during our stay! We hope to be able to stay here again during a future visit to Oakland.
Unbeatable Views, Retro Charm, and Exceptional Comfort
This place has the best view of San Francisco—absolutely stunning! The retro vibe is really cool, and the beds are super comfy. Everything was clean and well cared for. Big thank you to Dee, the manager—she was awesome and made everything easy. Would definitely stay here again!
We really enjoyed our visit to this charming home over Christmas. It had everything we needed, plus amazing views of Oakland and beyond. Even though it rained much of the time, it was great!
This is the perfect property for us when we visit family in the area. The home provides all the necessary accommodations & features to make you feel welcome & comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet, safe & friendly. The hosts, Dee & Kevin are the absolute best in ensuring you have pretty much everything you need to feel at home away from home! You won’t be disappointed!
Dee and Kevin’s property was so enjoyable . It was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the view was amazing. The balcony was a great place to relax after a busy day of sightseeing, and Dee was so helpful in suggesting places to see and modes of transportation. The retro kitchen was really well done and provided all that we needed. If ever we’re back in the San Francisco area again, we’ll definitely stay here again.
This is a cozy, charming, well maintained VRBO. It accurately met its description. It was comfortable and well equipped. I'd definitely stay here again if the need arose.
We keep coming back! This is our 4th visit, it’s become an annual delight. Perfectly located, charming, well appointed, ultra comfy beds and the deck…heaven!5 stars all around.Thank you!

I grew up in western NC. UCLA brought me to California, and I've lived in Oakland since 1987. I love Oakland and the San Francisco Bay Area. My husband and I travel frequently and whenever possible we rent a vacation home rather than stay in a hotel. We value comfort and convenience and keep in mind our own expectations and preferences when furnishing and managing our rental. After a day of touring and sight seeing, we enjoy sitting on a beautiful deck enjoying each other and a glass of wine. We want to provide you with the best possible lodging experience to complement your enjoyment of this beautiful geography. We are huge fans of the Bay Area and enjoy its offerings of bountiful nature and urban delights as though we are constant tourists here. My husband was a frequent Bay Area visitor (from New England) when I met him through mutual friends 22 years ago. After I spent two cold north eastern winters with him, he came to his senses and moved to the temperate climate of the Bay Area. We married in 2005, and he has no regrets about relocating!
