About this property

Quiet Cabin with Mountain Views

22-Zone3201
Isolated enough for peace & quiet, but close enough to Rocky Mountain National Park and Loveland.

Located on 4 acres, this cabin features 3 bedrooms (each with a queen bed), 2 bathrooms, living room with vaulted ceilings and a gas fireplace, a fully furnished kitchen, a wraparound deck with patio furniture and grill, washer/dryer, high speed internet, and more. Sorry the garage is not available to use.

This secluded cabin located on Storm Mountain in Drake, CO is a 33 minute drive to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park and a 30 minute drive to Loveland.

The Storm Mountain area is surrounded by Arapaho and Roosevelt National forests with several hiking trials near by and views of the mountains you don't typically see. Regular visits from elk and deer, rock climbing, and fishing on the Big Thompson river just minutes away.

The perfect place to unplug, get outside and get away from every thing. Cell service is unlikely, Wi-Fi is provided but may not reliable. Home is stocked with board games and books to help keep you entertained on a rainy day.

Home is accessed by 3 miles of dirt unpaved narrow road, you will need a All Wheel or 4 Wheel drive high clearance vehicle and from October-May tire chains will be needed to get up the mountain in the snow.

The home is on a well and septic system so we ask you to limit your water use during your stay.

This home is managed by Rocky Mountains Property Services, a family owned and operated business local to Estes Park.

Rocky Mountain National Park will implement another pilot temporary timed entry permit reservation system from May 24 through October 20, 2024. If you plan on visiting Rocky Mountain National Park during your stay please visit their website for details about reservations.

Due to the condition and steepness of the roads in this location and the subject property's driveway, the owner shall limit access to the property to All-Wheel (AWD) and/or 4-Wheel drive (4WD) vehicles.

Traction Law STATE LAW!
During winter storms, or when conditions require, CDOT will implement the Traction Law. During a Traction Law, all motorists are required to have EITHER:

4WD or AWD vehicle and 3/16” tread depth
Tires with a mud and snow designation (M+S icon) and 3/16” tread depth
Winter tires (mountain-snowflake icon) and 3/16” tread depth
Tires with an all-weather rating by the manufacturer and 3/16” tread depth
Chains or an approved alternative traction device

Comfortable Home
The house has newer, very comfortable furniture and a well-appointed kitchen with everything you need to prepare great meals. Sunrises and sunsets were awesome and a great deck to enjoy them from. The road to get there featured two miles of steep switchbacks, so be sure to take your 4WD or AWD, especially in inclement weather. Once you get there though, it's very comfy. We enjoyed our stay!

Our stay here was great! The house was spotless and welcoming. The location is pretty quiet and not too far from Estes.

Very pleased
This property was not as isolated as we thought it would be, but very nice and not a bad drive to Estes Park/Rocky Mountain park. We had lots of room to move about, it was very clean, modern amenities (except no air conditioning), very quiet and the views were absolutely beautiful. I would definitely recommend this home! We had a wonderful vacation.

Nice cabin!
Nice cabin, beautiful views! Very clean. Did not give 5 stars because one bath towel, one wash cloth per person and one hand towel per bathroom and staying 4 nights is not realistic. It would be much more laundry water efficient to be washing a full load of towels than two towels and two wash clothes a load. 6 of us do not all use our towels at the same time. I recommend taking towels and wash cloths if you stay here. Still a nice place to stay
