What a wonderful stay at the perfect little house!! Everything was exactly as listed and honestly, even better than described. It was easy to find, accessible to everything we needed, and overall, our favorite place we have ever stayed in the Keys. Lena was so easy to work with and went above and beyond to make our stay for my 50th birthday the very BEST! I will definitely book here again and will recommend staying here to everyone I know.

The property is everything promised. A very clean, well supplied rental, that shows the hosts pride, and the attention to detail reenforces the desire to provide a top notch rental. Marathon is in the Heart of the Keys, providing everything a vacationer could hope for, and this rental has everything needed to make that happen.

Property was perfect for our needs especially for our dog. The fence provided a safe space for her to explore. The house was very clean and well stocked with all of the essentials. The location was also very convenient being close to the beach, restaurants and shopping. I would highly recommend it.

Very nice little place to stay. Marathon Key is a great mid way point to visit the keys. I enjoyed the pool on hot days and the back porch to lounge around. Beds were comfy and the kitchen well stocked for making meals.

Great location and comfortable stay

We loved the location of the property and having a small, private pool. After communicating with the owner, we had everything we needed by the second night. Check in and check out was super easy and convenient. We would stay here again.

Good location - Fenced back area.

House was as advertised. Nice to have a small yard for the dogs. Good location - just 1.5 hours to downtown Key West.

Perfect Spot

This was perfect for our stay. The closed in back yard was great for my dogs and the location was central to everything. The house was so cute and had everything we needed. Lena the host was very communicative. I highly recommend this place.

This is definitely a cute little house that is the perfect spot to call base camp while you explore the Keys! The host was very responsive when it came to the pool having a couple issues. She contacted the pool company and they were there the next day to get the pool fixed. Our son was very happy! A couple small things to point out that we did not realize: this house is next to a VERY BUSY CARWASH. The amount of people that wash their car between midnight and 5am is more than you realize. Also, the airport is right down the road and this house is at the end of the runway. So you will get lots of overhead plane traffic. It’s cool to track them with a flight app to see where they are going. But again, more planes than one may realize out of a private airport. A fenced in backyard makes it very private for the family. Only other thing I wish we had was water access. I would recommend this house again!

The house is cute. There is no yard maintenance at all. It was hard to walk out the door because of the smell of rotting fish in the garbage cans and all over the back porch. The pool was discussing and took 3 days to clean it, hair pluggung the filter so water could not even pump thr. The host said the pool guy comes every week but showed up after i had already cleaned the pool and. I cleaned the whole back yard with bleach water just to kill the smell and to get rid of the fly problem. I could not get ahold of the host so the neighbor was calling and texting the owner and no response either. I was told it was like that for 3 weeks before i arrived and nothing was done about it and was bad enough that 2 neighbors had called code enforcement on the property. I would not stay there again. The neibors were cool though

Response from VrboOwner on 31 August 2025
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that parts of your stay didn’t meet expectations, this is not the level of comfort or service we want for our guests. As a gesture of goodwill, we refunded $200 for the inconvenience, knowing it doesn’t resolve the problem but hoping it showed we take your concerns seriously. Unfortunately, we weren’t informed of the garbage issue until checkout, though our phone number is always listed in both the house rules and on VRBO for direct contact. The trash contamination was a one-time issue caused by the previous guests leaving bait in the bins, and it has since been fully resolved. We also have a weekly pool service that comes to the property to ensure the pool is maintained, and we’ve reinforced procedures to make sure everything is ready for each arrival. We’re glad you enjoyed the charm of the home and the friendly neighbors, and we look forward to welcoming future guests for a clean, comfortable stay.
