About this property

2 Cabins, 100 Mile Views, Hot Tub, 2½ miles to BR

Enjoy the best of both worlds with TWO cabins and 20 acres of privacy, just 2.5 miles from the charming town of Blowing Rock. Hike down to our private pond, then spend the afternoon shopping and dining in the picturesque town. The larger cabin has been updated to include a kids' loft area, a luxurious master suite with balcony, and a separate living area on the lower level. The smaller cabin has been converted into a cozy one bedroom studio.

You’re only 2.5 miles from Main Street in Blowing Rock. These cabins have a rich history in the area and were built by and eventually gifted to a caretaker of the Cone Family Apple Orchard. We’ve been hard at work updating and remodeling these beauties so that they maintain the rich history but include the modern luxuries that you’re used to.

The larger cabin includes a main level with interior steps that lead the kids loft as well as a completely separate lower level that is accessed by way of the deck, allowing the opportunity for two master suites (one on the main level and another on the lower level). The main level sleeps nine (king bed, queen bed, three twin beds and a couch that converts to another queen bed), while the lower level sleeps three (one queen bed and one convertible sofa that converts to a full size bed). From the main level master, you’ll look out over Blackberry Gorge toward Charlotte and see until the earth makes its curve. If you’re not taking in the view with a cup of coffee from the luxurious king bed, you’ll be sipping on some sweet goodness out on the private master balcony.

They Tiny Cabin was a Studio for a well known High Country artist and has been remodeled to include a full bathroom with tile shower and well equipped kitchenette. Sleep in a luxurious queen bed with 100 mile views or sit on the nook by the window overlooking Blackberry Gorge toward Charlotte. The tiny cabin features tongue and groove spruce ceilings and walls as well as a sleeper sofa in the living area.

Hands down, the best feature are the views, they are outstanding. Both cabins have 100 mile views from almost every room. In the evenings, take your time enjoying the 700 square foot deck complete with swinging egg chairs, charming gas fire pit or lounge in one of many Adirondack chairs.

While you’re enjoying some of that sweet solitude, you’ll take comfort in knowing that the kids are resting well or playing games in the kids loft complete with sleeping cubbies and more fun than you can fit in a basket. Oh, and we put a huge queen bed up there too…

Spend your days exploring the twenty plus acres. Strap your boots on for a hike down the mountain to the private pond or take a leisurely stroll down the gravel road. Whether you adventure down the mountain or stroll up top, you’ll find more fun than you can shake a stick at.

Appalachian Ski Mountain is 5½ miles, Tweetsie Railroad is only 6 miles away and ASU and Boone are 10 miles. Downtown Blowing Rock is just a 2.5 miles away. Banner Elk is just 25 minutes from the cabin and Grandfather Mountain is a quick jaunt on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

You’ll have private access to the entire property (i.e. two cabins, master balcony, hot tub patio, 700sqft deck with swinging egg chairs, fire pit, Adirondack chairs and hammock).

Our property is meant to be a place of refuge and retreat from the normal day to day hustle. While you’re here make sure that you spend time around the fire pit, swing in the hanging egg chairs and make your way through the trails throughout the property.

You’ll also have access to the two acre, spring fed private pond at the bottom of the mountain. It’s perfect for that late afternoon picnic or pond side lounge or leisurely fishing. Make your way up the stream to the top of the spring and find that the water comes right up out of the ground.

I’m always available to help with any questions that may come up. Feel free to reach out through the messages inbox, phone or text at any time.

This cabin sits on 20 acres off of a private gravel road immediately off of 321 in Blowing Rock. We don’t have many neighbors, but the ones that we do have are very friendly and you’ll likely see them driving by as they come and go throughout the day. The cabin sits at the very top of the only road that goes in and out of the community, so please be sure that you do not block the road in any way that might impede our neighbors from driving by.

You’ll be less than a five minute drive to Main Street Blowing rock where you can stroll, dine and shop the picturesque town. Blowing Rock has been a central part of life in the High Country since the late 1800’s and many of the stone structures that were formed in the early 1900’s remain until today. In fact, the mason that built the fireplace in our larger cabin was the “go-to” stone mason of the day. Many of the stone structures that you’ll see throughout town were crafted by the same stone mason that built our larger cabin.

Highway 321 will be cleared appropriately in winter months. As for the road off of 321 to this cabin, it is paved but in the event of inclement weather - 4WD or AWD is suggested in winter months.

While the road to the house does melt quickly, it can be tricky with snow.

If you’re headed further into the High Country, we’d encourage you to take a drive. We highly recommend taking the longer route on the Blue Ridge Parkway to get from where you are to where you’re going. If you’re looking for another scenic route, be sure to take Shull’s Mill road if you’re headed toward Banner Elk or Valle Crucis.

While you stay, there will be plenty of room to park. Feel free to park on the concrete next to the garage or on the gravel.

The main and lower levels of the larger cabin are not connected by interior stairs and both have separate entrances. The lower level can only be accessed by the lower deck.

There is plenty to do in and around the property and we encourage you to take a stroll down the private gravel road past the cabin as well as the 4x4 paved road down the mountain. Please do not attempt to drive down the mountain on the asphalt path unless your vehicle is equipped with four wheel drive (we’re not responsible for any stuck or damaged vehicles that may come from driving down to the pond)). It is VERY steep…perhaps a hike might be a better fit?

Appalachian Graduation with family

Stay was very comfortable. Oversized wagon was awesome to help unload car to house. Very easy. Talked to the owner a few times leading up to and during the stay. Very accommodating. The deck is better in person than the pictures. Awesome view. Kitchen supplies and bedroom configurations were perfect for our large group!!!
