Extremely comfortable and clean property. Enjoyed relaxing on the lenai every evening to watch the sunset. Kitchen had all the cooking equipment we needed, even a crockpot. Folks at Ali'i Resorts were very responsive to all our requests. Things to know: Kihei gets very windy in the afternoon. Very, very windy. We had to go elsewhere on the island to relax on the beach and avoid the wind starting around noon. Wind dies down in the early evening. There is a Safeway nearby for grocery shopping to stock up the kitchen. Five minute drive or a 20-minute walk. The Beach Club, a short walk up the street has a nice happy hour and a great patio for overlooking the water. Friendly service.

Family Christmas vacation

Perfect location. Loved the “quiet” side of the island but easy to get anywhere. Fireworks on New Year’s Eve we’re beautiful. Loved the Indian restaurant on site. We will come back!

Great Young Family Location

Lots of long beaches to walk plus a small wave-protected beach for young kids and a nice pool. Perfect for 4 adults (2 couples) and 2 young children. All with separate rooms. Well stocked with cooking appliances. Only drawback is being a long walk to local shopping and a selection eating places.

Beachfront breeze

This unit is in a central location. The oceanfront views and beach access were amazing. It was exactly what we had hoped for. Plenty of space for 5 adults to feel comfortable. Watching the turtles play in the water each morning, the whales playing about each day created memories of a lifetime.

Lovely Condo in Kihei on the ocean

We were a party of 6 and this condo was perfect for our stay! It was clean, spacious and a great location! Wailea was (15 mins away) and not too long of a drive to other parts of the island. We loved this property because everyone had a bedroom to sleep in and we loved waking up in the morning and sitting on the lanai drinking coffee. Condo is located on first floor which was very convenient and can’t beat the beautiful ocean. Will absolutely stay here again!

Wonderful condo for whale watching!

We loved this condo! First floor was perfect for sitting on patio and watching the whales or playing on the beach. Condo comes complete with everything needed from beach chairs to binoculars. We loved having the grassy area right off patio and would be great for young kids. The whole complex seemed well maintained and grounds crew kept everything beautiful (even gas grills were cleaned every day and looked brand new). We loved the proximity to food trucks and shops. We would definitely stay her again.

I completely agree with David A's review from May, 2018. Would just add that there are two great beaches in front of the unit. One is very sandy enclosed by a break water. Good place for playing in the sand. Saw sea turtles swimming around there. The other is much longer and is great for early morning jogging or walking.

Perfect condo. A Cook's kitchen. Saw whales and turtles everyday. Perfect protected area to play in the water. Condo beautifully furnished. Close to activities. Quiet area. We will go back. Oh yes,, washer and dryer in condo. We couldn't have been more pleased.

Outstanding value for the money!

This is an outstanding rental. We have stayed at 7 other condo's, and 3 others here at Menehune Shores. This is by far our favorite! Very clean! Well laid out with 2 master suites. The view is amazing. Beach access is right out the slider. Very well stocked, no need to buy extra's. Everything is beautiful! We will be staying no where else on Maui!

Loved seeing the turtles

Walking into the condo for the first time and seeing the amazing view of the ocean was breathtaking. It was so nice being on the bottom floor and just walking directly outside, and not having to take groceries upstairs. We were able to walk from the condo to see the turtles swimming and basking on the beach. The restaurant on the property was very good. We enjoyed having that view as well from the restaurant. I expected other places to eat and shop within walking distance from the condo, but there were none.

Great unit!

Really enjoyed our stay here. Beautiful unit with a fantastic kitchen with everything you could possibly need to cook gourmet meals. We really enjoyed being able to cook up a feast and sit out on the lanai with the ocean right there in front of us, in the warm evening breeze. Of course there were lots of good restaurants and coffee shops nearby that we had to try too. Loved having morning walks on the beach right from the unit, no shoes needed. Easy location to venture out in all directions and see all that Maui has to offer. Will definitely be returning and staying in this unit!

All-Around Amazing Condo Unit

We stayed in this beautifully decorated and appointed unit with our daughter and son-in-law, and 3 young children. Each of us continued to comment on the more than 5 star location, comfort, supplies beyond expectation, kid-friendly, artistic decorations, and thoughtfulness that went into equipping the unit. Turtles on the rocks thrilled the kids, and we saw whales spouting every day. Each contact with the owner that we needed to make was quick, helpful, and very friendly. We will recommend this unit to other families, and hope to return ourselves!

Stay here!

If you have kids, this is the best place to stay. You can’t beat the location. This was our second time at Menehune and we’re already planning our next vacation! The beach is perfect for kids to build confidence in the water plus there are turtles everyday! The pool is great for kids too! Skip the restaurant however, just cook in the kitchen which was well stocked! This was probably the best stocked rental we’ve ever been in. There was dishwasher pods, laundry soap, dryer balls, plus many kitchen food items such as oils, spices, and coconut cream. We also liked the small beverage fridge in the kitchen. Another thing we loved about this unit was being able to watch the sunset from the lanai every night. Stay here! You will love it!

This was a girls trip and my first to Maui. It could not have been better. The condo was just like it was described. It was beautifully decorated, very clean, well maintained and fully supplied. The complex was very quiet and the grounds were well maintained. IT FELT LIKE HOME! The location is perfect for exploring all of the island because of the central location. Just a short drive from the airport and two wonderful little historic towns ( Paia and Makaweo) where there is great shopping. Lunch at the Fish Market Restaurant in Paia was wonderful and very fresh. I wish we had had more time and I would certainly like to stay in this unit again. Thanks to Cheryl for giving us great tips of things to do and for always responding promptly. The sunset dinner sailing trip is a must!

So much fun in Kihei!

We had a wonderful vacation and Cheryl was great. The property is described accurately and being right there on the ocean was so much fun for our family. The pool was nice and heated which my kids loved, especially for the often windy afternoons. Cheryl communicated upon our arrival that the condo association would be spraying for bugs during our stay but it was a quick and painless process. We did find a couple of cockroaches but that's Hawaii?! I live where bugs die in the winter for a reason. :-) Ground floor was great fir the kids with easy access to the pool, beach and BBQ's for grilling out. The pan selection was limited for those who like to cook big meals so we picked up additional frying pans. Kitchen is small for more than one cook but the extra beverage fridge was super nice for the adult beverages. Overall a fantastic stay and you won't be disappointed with the ocean views!

Downshifting in Paradise - Nani Koki

The rental was perfection personified! The condo is beautifully decorated and well appointed - equipped with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Very clean, well stocked (beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkeling gear - a "beach all-inclusive!). The ground floor location made for easy access from the parking lot, and easy access to the beach from the lanai for leisurely walks on the un-crowded beach. Morning coffee on the lanai is a must! The roof top deck is also a must! Both the Lanai and the roof is the perfect place to unwind and take in the oceanfront view and the stunning sunsets. Great location - so easy to get to all the many sights that Maui has to offer (Road to Hana, Haleakala Crater, Paia, Lahaina, Alii Kula lavender farm, Nakalele Blowhole, etc) . I would highly recommend checking out Kai Kanani Sailing Charters for snorkeling & sunset cruises. The owner, Cheryl Peterson, was so easy to work with. She was the perfect hostess from the start to finish - from booking the unit, to calling upon our arrival to make sure everything was in order and to our satisfaction. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking to have an epic vacation.

For Family Vacation

We had a wonderful three generation family vacation at this beautiful property. Everything was exactly as described and pictured. The property was immaculate even though they did this in a 4 hour turnaround from one check out to our check in. We picked this unit because it opens onto a grassy area and has a shallow protected beach area. When we arrived and opened the door, we found ourselves looking directly out large windows to the ocean. A beautiful, welcoming sight. The grass is so well maintained it looks like astro turf. Be aware though that the birds visit each morning and leave their calling card so you will want to wear something on your feet. The beach towels, chairs, boogie boards, and child toys were nice to have available. Do take advantage of the talks at the Whale Center next door; currently on T/TR at 11am. The location is convenient to shopping but do not expect to walk along the road as it is busy and has practically no shoulder in some areas. If you are an auditory person, you may find the clanking of dishes from the Indian Restaurant in the building annoying. We kept the front door open (there is a great locking screen) for cross breeze and it could get very noisy for a time in the evenings.

Excellent Family Vacation Spot

This is an excellent vacation spot for families of all ages. Our family recently spent a fantastic week at Menehune Shores. The condo is beautifully decorated and was very comfortable for the seven adults in our party. Must see, must do suggestions...The Hana Highway is an all day trip, leave early so you can stop and spend some time at Keanae (huge waves breaking over the lava rocks); Waianapanapa State Park (Black Sand Beach); Oheo Gulch (Seven Pools) and don't forget to hike through the bamboo forest at Kipahula, Haleakala Nat'l Park. Snorkel at Molokini Crater or at any of the public beaches near Wailea. During our snorkeling we were able to hear whales sing under the water (we captured the audible on a GoPro underwater camera). Rise early and watch the sun come up from the condo's lanai with a cup of fresh ground homegrown coffee from Ka'anapali Coffee Farms; look for the Pioneer Mill Smokestack in Lahaina, check out the MauiGrown Coffee Company Store for free coffee sampling. While in Lahaina, check out the Banyan Tree which takes up an entire block, shop the many shops along Front Street ending at Bubba Gumps for dinner (be sure to sit close to the waterside for views of a beautiful evening sunset). Morning is the best time to see the turtles feeding along the fish pen walls out front of Menehune Shores; and the rooftop of Menehune Shores is the best place to see the sunset followed by a chorus of conch shells (or Pū) saying goodbye to the day and mahalo. You will not be disappointed...this is an awesome place to spend your vacation. Mahalo!

a whole lot of good but also some bad

Overall me and my family had a wonderful time at this condo. It's centrally located so nothing is too far of a drive. It's got a perfect beach for small children, there's a rock wall that extends out to break up waves so the children don't get tossed around. It's close to some awesome beaches, particularly Makena beach. The condo itself was nice and clean, beautiful furniture and had everything you would need. My one complaint is that it had no AC, so since it didn't we needed to keep the windows and sliding glass door open when we were home and that's where we ran into trouble. One night while we were sleeping someone broke into the condo and stole some cash and other items from the living room. The police came the next day and explained to us that this wasn't an isolated incident and that it has happened at this complex several times before. So as a word of advice, keep your patio door locked at night, if it's hard for you to sleep in a warm house without AC then this probably isn't the place for you. The owner seems genuinely concerned about the incident. If this never happened to us I'd give this place a higher rating but it did and until it upgrades it's security via better lighting, posted warnings about theft or getting a security company to patrol at night it would be hard to fully endorse this place

This was the perfect location, close to everything. The place was clean and adequate for our group of 6 adults. The quaint beach and turtles were a plus! And what a spectacular view. The check in process was so easy. It was great to have a washer dryer in the laundry room which is located in one of the front bedrooms. We would definitely stay here again.

We truly enjoyed our stay, and the price was great. The view from the condo was gorgeous, and my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the lanai with coffee every morning. The property location was also perfect for us, as it was central to all of the places and businesses we wanted to see. If you get a rental SUV, beware that the parking spots are teeny-tiny. We were able to make it work, but it was close! lol! The hosts/management team were WONDERFUL. We had severely delayed flights and they were so kind about letting our friends check in without us there yet.
