Great accommodations in a fantastic location!

My wife and I stayed there with 2 other couples (Jan 31 - Feb 14, 2024) and absolutely loved it! The accommodations were great and the "central" location (Kihei) is a real benefit to visiting anywhere else on the island. In addition to being able to watch the whales "play" every day, having a bunch of giant sea turtles almost outside our patio door was really special! We highly recommend this place.....2 thumbs up!

Wonderful stay

Wonderful ocean front unit . The owners are great and we’re very helpful. The unit is very well equipped. We saw whales from the patio and swam with turtles daily. It was a great place to unwind and relax.

Retirement for the first week was here in Paradise

We had a great visit in Maui with this wonderful Vrbo paradise. We had 7 people from age 6 to 65 and it worked for us all. Plenty to do, easy access beach, pool, restaurant, laundry, lanai, you name it we loved it. Clean, comfortable and great views. Thank you for letting us stay in your families paradise home.

Good choice for us

Well-equipped condo in central location. Loved being so close to the water, you can sit on the Lanai and watch the turtles swimming while drinking morning coffee (or evening beverage of choice!). One small issue (refrigerator filter needed changed). Notifies owner and it was done same day - very responsive! Would not hesitate staying again.

Spectacular Stay in Kihei!

We had an absolutely wonderful time in Jim and Audrey’s Maui home. The view when we entered is breathtaking. Being on the first floor is perfect to access all the outdoor activities just a few short steps away. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and we found there wasn’t anything that we wished we had or needed. Jim was so easy to communicate with before our trip and even during when we had a couple questions. We will most definitely return!

The Vacation of a Lifetime!

The Speth's Hawaiian home on Maui doesn't disappoint. The first week of our 40 year-in-the-making Hawaiian vacation was everything we wanted and more. There was plenty of room for our six adults to spread out and never be on top of one another. We spents hours every day on the lanai enjoying the spectacular views. We could certainly tell the Speths actually use their home, as it was not missing anything our family needed all week. Jim's emails were packed full of info that was greatly appreciated. Thank you Jim and Aubrey for being such spectacular hosts.

Menehune Shores Condo- Keihei

The pictures on-line of this Condo are accurate-beautiful views and easy access to the water.it is centrally located and worked well for us to experience all parts of Maui. It was well equipped and is definitely set up to accommodate a large group. The closets are stocked with baby gear, beach toys, coolers and chairs. For our family of 4 the size was perfect, we utilized the well equipped kitchen,and our kids appreciated having their own bedrooms. If you like firm mattresses you will enjoy as they are in all 3 bedrooms. Make sure you visit the turtles right next door in front of the man-made rock barrier - really nice as you can walk around the calm water and get close up look at the fish and turtles.

Paradise at Your Fingertips

Jim & Audrey's place is well appointed, centrally located, and has the most beautiful views of the ocean with access to prime beaches, shops, food, and more! We wanted to explore as much of the island as we could during our 9 day stay but it was hard to leave the lanai of this wonderful condo where we could watch turtles, whales, and amazing sunsets. A short walk from the lanai and you had a long stretch of beach to walk or another smaller beach to play in the calmer waters of a protected rock cove.The community pool was also great on windier days and the rooftop access was wonderful to look out over the ocean and view Haleakala. Inside, the condo had everything we needed to make ourselves at home--whip up some pina coladas, keep up on laundry, and they even provide some basic beach essentials like snorkel equipment, sand toys, chairs, boogie boards, and more to use and enjoy.This oasis was perfect for our family of 4 and the grandparents. The adults loved the two king-sized beds in the primary ocean-facing rooms while the kids enjoyed the third room which was arranged into two twins perfect for our two young boys.Jim & Audrey checked in on us with such kindness and care before and after our arrival and even after our stay. They offered many recommendations and advice to make our stay the best vacation and we are so grateful. We hope to be back to enjoy their wonderful Hawaiian home again soon!

Spring Break vacation

We wanted to take our son to Maui on his senior spring break and the trip did not disappoint at all. The location of this property is great as there are a ton of beaches close by that are amazing for looking at wildlife. There are beaches right out the back door but it’s hard to snorkel as the water isn’t as clear BUT the number of turtles you will see on the rocks each morning is amazing!! We did have some issues with the water and the hot water heater had to get replaced when we were there but I will say Cindy, the local contact was fantastic. She answered within minutes, and found someone to fix that day which isn’t common when you are on island time. I was very grateful for her. She even checked on us the next day to make sure all was working correctly.

Great place to stay!

My family of 7 had plenty of room! The location was awesome!!! We saw turtles every morning on the beach. The pool was clean. The condo was everything the pictures show. Location in Kihei was nice. We walked downtown Lahaina and we all said that we were glad we didn’t stay there (too many people). I would recommend Costco and Safeway (sign up for the discount) to shop at for food. The only thing I would recommend is having some cleaning supplies (for the bathrooms). After spending 10 days there and 7 adults they could have used a little wiping down. Otherwise no complaints and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying here! Owners were great to work with and so was their house manager. We did have to contact her once about the sliding door and TV. They were there within a day and fixed the sliding door. Mahalo for sharing your home with my family!

Wonderful Stay in Kihei

Our family truly enjoyed our stay at Jim and Audrey’s home. Jim kindly welcomed us with very little notice, allowing us to relocate after the tragic Lahaina fire and West Maui power outages. We were grateful we could remain on Maui as respectful visitors, supporting local businesses and making donations to help the people of Maui. The condo is spacious, clean, comfortable and very well stocked. The A/C worked well when we needed it, but we preferred opening the slider and windows for the ocean breeze and listening to the surf. We absolutely loved the amazing view and the beautiful sunsets. We enjoyed swimming in the Kō‘ie‘ie Fishpond right in front of the condo. Every morning, we walked right off the lanai into the beach park to see the green sea turtles in their resting spots on the rock wall and sand. Friendly staff from the Marine Sanctuary Visitor Center (next door) told us all about the turtles and the local environment. The location in Kihei is central, making it easy to get to other areas of the island. It's also a short drive to supermarkets, great restaurants, shave ice, shopping and other beautiful beaches for snorkeling, etc. We would definitely stay in this condo again. Maui Ocean Front

Your first impression when you open the door is the priceless ocean view!! The condo itself is very spacious. We had 6 adults in our group and had plenty of room. The kitchen was well stocked and even had some staples to start with. The beds were all very comfortable and the rooms very clean. We stayed a full two weeks with a late check out. This way we didn't waste a single day on this beautiful island! We have stayed at Menehune Shores many times but this is absolutely our favorite unit. The rest of the grounds are immaculate and well maintained. You also have Maui's historical fishing pond 35 feet from your large lani with plenty of outdoor seating. The pool area is always clean and well maintained. This area also has three very large clean gas grills as does the rooftop seating and entertaining area. This property also has a great Indian restaurant and bar "The Monsoon" .My parents have been coming for years and their most favorite activity is watching all the whales, dolphins and turtle's. The weather in Kihei is always warm and has more sunny days than the West side of Maui. You may find newer and more posh places to stay, but this unit and resort, has been home to us many times. The very worst part of staying here is leaving 😪 to go home! The owners and on property managers are great people and easy and responsive to work with and the whole process is so simple. Everyone on Maui has the Aloha spirit, including all of us escaping the mainland sub artic temps!

We had a magnificent stay! Everything was perfect from the location to the amenities. Having coffee on the lanai each morning was one of the highlights of our trip. We had 4 kids from 6-11 years old and they were able to enjoy the pool and nearby beaches. We will be booking again when we return to Maui, which can’t happen soon enough!

Amazing stay

Our stay was nothing but amazing!! It was nice going out to the balcony and enjoy the sound of the waves and the sunset. The hosts were amazing and communicative. Check in was easy as well. Everything was about five to ten minute drive. Will definitely book again in the future.

Canadians in Kihei

This was a wonderful spring break for our Canadian grandkids, their parents and grandparents. The condo is very well equipped and is in a beautiful spot. We enjoyed every minute here.

Trip of a life time !

We stayed at this property in March 2025 for spring break - and let me tell you, the word “paradise” in the description is not accidental. This place was truly fantastic! We travelled with friends, 2 families with kids 4, 6, 8 years old. This condo was perfect size for us all. Important things that we wanted when searching for accommodations was balcony with access to backyard, beach in walking distance and of course - ocean views. This property met all of these requirements. Cherry on top was heated pool and grill ( after long day of exploring it was so nice to enjoy juicy steak or fish that we picked at a local market). Condo also has multiple sand toys, chairs, umbrellas etc - much needed in Maui as you are def going to explore many beaches. Location is fantastic as well - close to many shops, grocery stores, fruit stands and many cool beaches. Communication with the owner was easy as well- Jim was very responsive, answered all our questions and provided many recommendations. Can’t recommend this property enough, and when we go back to Maui we’ll definitely stay here again!

AMAZING property!

This condo is simply AMAZING! It is spacious for larger groups with terrific views. Great views from two of the bedrooms as well as the great room and kitchen. It is so peaceful to hear the ocean as you enjoy the space. The lanai opens up to the lawn, so it feels like you have this huge dedicated outdoor space as well. There is a rock wall that is short enough to not block the view, but high enough if you have a toddler to help keep away from danger. There is also a nice, protected swimming area in the ocean. The condo is close to the grocery store and the onsite restaurant is very good for a convenient meal. The managers are also very friendly and easy to work with. I can't say enough good things about this property. I would love to give it a bad review so there are more openings when we want to go back but it is too beautiful not to share. Don't hesitate - book this one - you won't regret it!

Kihei Paradise

We really enjoyed our stay at the Speth's Kihei home. Jim was very helpful throughout the rental process and in answering questions up until our stay. Their onsite person was equally supportive.    The ocean view from the living room and lanai is amazing. We enjoyed watching whales through binoculars (provided by the host) and checking out the sea turtles resting on the rocks. The unit’s location is quiet and peaceful excepting the gardening activity that keeps the grounds looking so pristine. The beds were comfy and the bedrooms had ample drawers and hangers for clothes. The ocean view is from two of the three bedrooms, too. It was a treat to hear waves breaking when it was quiet at night.    Though we didn't cook, the kitchen is well equipped for those who do, with a variety of appliances, cookware, and even basic spices.  We tried some new restaurants from the list of recommendations. Threes and Maui Brewing Co were both very good. They were worthy supplements to family favorites Mama's Fish House, Tommy Bahama, and Hali’imaile General Store.   One thing to note for people using canes or walkers is the curb transition from the parking lot to the ground floor walkway is rather steep. There are areas that are less steep, though you may need to walk a bit further for unit access.  We really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't mind returning for a repeat sisters' trip. We started to look at property all over the island during every visit. When we found Menehune Shores 114, we knew that we had found our own personal paradise! Why they chose this property

We found ourselves in Kihei on our first "family" trip to Maui. We really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere, the proximity to the airport and Kahului, as well as easy access to the whole island. Menehune Shores 114 is blessed with daily tropical breezes, beautiful views of Lanai, Kahoolawe and the Pacific Ocean (you can't get much closer!), and the relaxing sound of the ocean lulling you to sleep, all on a beautiful and well-maintained property. Just to be sure this was the best possible condo, we kept looking while we were in escrow (and even after - 21+ years now), but nothing else came close!
