The Space:
Thunder Lodge is a stately mountain retreat boasting nearly 4,000 sq/ft of awesomeness! The new owners have put their hearts into updating this gorgeous property for their family and our guests to enjoy.

The property sits level to the street for easy access with paved driveway and parking for up to 4 vehicles. Just a couple steps up to the covered front porch and 1 step into the home. Your immediately greeted by beautiful spaces as you enter. The huge great room features vaulted pines ceiling and windows with views of the mountain range as the backdrop. The living room features comfy overstuffed leather furnishings that surround the big screen TV. You'll love firing up the gas fireplace on chilly nights to complete that postcard setting! Just to the right of the living space is a formal dining with plenty of seating.

The natural flow of the space takes you to the gourmet kitchen complete with updated stainless steel appliances including gas range with oven, huge side by side refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and plenty of pantry storage. The kitchen peninsula features a huge double sink, RO water filtration system w/ tap at the sink, and tons of counter space for prep. The kitchen is stocked with a Keurig and drip coffee maker and just about everything you'll need to prepare meals, just bring the groceries! There's also a dry bar area for mixes tasty adult beverages! Beyond the kitchen is the breakfast area with huge table with plenty of seating.

The door from the dining area leads out to a huge covered back patio where you'll be wowed by the incredible views and lush forest of the Ruidoso Valley. Kick back on the comfy seating or the porch swing and watch the puffy white clouds roll by. During monsoon season, you can smell the mountain rain and be amazed at the sound of the rolling thunder across the valley! Mealtime is a pleasure out there with outside dining table, bistro table and a propane gas grill ready for burgers and steaks!

Back inside you'll find the Primary Ensuite bedroom to the left of the living room. This completely updated space features a king size bed with all new furnishings and linens, SmartTV, and sliding glass door that brings in tree and mountain views and also leads out to the back deck. The private bath features a walk-in shower, soaking tub, split vanity sinks with lots of storage and connects to a huge walk-in closet!

There's also a guest bedroom on the other side of the house with king bed, lots of storage, windows with tree views, and all new bedding and furnishings. A hallway connects to the full bath w/ shower/ tub combo and single vanity sink and functions as a convenient powder bath. To the right down the hallway is the laundry room with two washers and a dryer for your convenience.

Head down the stairs from the living room and you'll find a fantastic gathering space for the family complete with pool table, big screen TV and plenty of seating. A great setting for the gang to hang out and watch the big game! Windows and sliding glass door bring the views of the forest and Sierra Blanca Peak! Step out onto the covered deck to the private hot tub. The perfect space to unwind after a busy day or to soothe achy muscles after a day of hiking or family Après Ski!

The lower level also boasts 3 additional ensuite bedrooms! To the left is a huge, updated space with tree views, king size bed, sitting area and features all new linens and furnishings. This bedroom is perfect for a couple with a little one you need to keep an eye on! The walk-in closet is huge and functions a playroom and set up w/ a pack-n-play.

Another ensuite bedroom is just on the other side of the game room. Featuring king size bed and huge windows that bring in the views of the forest and mountains! The attached private bath is complete with single sink, shower/tub combo, tons of storage and counterspace, and connects to a huge walk-in closet.

As you pass down the hallway, you'll find the 5th bedroom. The connected full bath features a single vanity with great storage and counterspace, walk-in closet and works great as a powder bath when guests are enjoying the game room. Just past the bathroom is a cozy bedroom complete with two double beds, all new bedding and furnishings, and wonderful windows with tree views.

Thunder Lodge is equipped with central heat and A/C for your comfort and a gas fireplace is in the main living room. Ceiling fans are in the bedrooms and all main spaces. Free Wi-Fi & all TVs are Smart TVs w/ TDS cable service. Guests can stream their favorite shows on Netflix, Hulu, and more! NO SMOKING & NO PETS. HOST FEE COVERS CLEANING, DAMAGE PROTECTION, AND 24/7 LOCAL SUPPORT.

Guest Access:
SELF CHECK IN: Access codes for the remote lock are EMAILED to the reservation holder w/in 48 hours of arrival. Be sure to complete your guest check in form after booking and provide your email address and contact phone.

DIRECTIONS AND CHECK IN INSTRUCTIONS: For the privacy of any staying guest, physical addresses are provided after booking and confirmation is complete.

DIGITAL GUESTBOOK: Directions, check in instructions, and everything you will need to know are available provided in the digital guestbook! The link is sent via email after booking and completing your check in form. We will also send via SMS text message prior to arrival.

ACCESSING THE HOUSE: There is a paved driveway and parking area. Limited to 4 vehicles. Keypad at the front door to access the house. There are 2 steps up to the covered front porch. All other exterior doors can only be unlocked from the inside of the house. Sorry the garage and any locked doors or cabinets which are for owner's access only.

The Neighborhood:
Nestled in Ruidoso's most desired White Mountain Meadows neighborhood, Thunder Lodge offers the absolute best in mountain lodging for you and your family. Amazingly, you are only 7 minutes from Ruidoso's bustling Midtown and 9 minutes from Grindstone Lake. Just 3.5 miles to Ski Run Rd, the turn off to Ski Apache. The neighborhood is a quiet residential area, perfect for listening to the mountain breeze in the tall pines or star gazing at night from the hot tub!

Ruidoso is a picturesque alpine village nestled in the Lincoln National Forest of Lincoln County, boasting some of the greatest areas for outdoor adventure. Over 10 miles of hiking and biking trails in town, 3 area lakes, championship golf, and more. A day trip can be filled with amazing natural wonders at White Sands National Monument or Valley of Fire State Park. History buffs will enjoy a short drive to Fort Stanton and even Old Lincoln, the town where Billy the Kid made his famous escape! Head to Ruidoso Downs and watch the world-famous quarter horse races live! In the winter months hit the slopes at Ski Apache or tubing fun at Winter Park. Packed with fun and adventure, Thunder Lodge provides the perfect vacation home to create lasting memories.

Getting Around:
Access to the house is easy with a paved, level driveway and motor court. *Please note: Thunder Lodge is in the gated community of White Mountain Meadows. The only guest access is through the main gate on GAVILAN CANYON RD. Please do not use any other GPS routes, they will lead you to the back gate which is accessed by property owners only.
After hours, the gates into the neighborhood close. A 4-digit code is provided with arrival information.
All roads are easy to moderate in this neighborhood with hills. Streets are paved. Some areas around Ruidoso and Alto are hilly to mountainous but easy to get around year-round. During winter months, guests are encouraged to have access to 4-wheel drive and/or snow chains in the event of a major winter weather. For extended stays, travel insurance is recommended.
