James' place is clean, comfortable and in a great location. The neighborhood is quiet and conveniently located near Carytown and downtown Richmond. We would definitely stay here again.
This is a great spot! Convenient to the whole Richmond area and great walkable neighborhood with local spots nearby. I especially loved the beautiful Forest Hill Park for walking with my dog.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The home was comfortable, clean, and allowed us space to spread out. Communication with the owner was prompt and professional.

Your review made our day! We're thankful for your stay and are excited about the prospect of hosting you again.
This apartment was perfect for us, ideal location near coffee shops and the people we came to visit. Even cooked dinner for 5 one night, space for everyone. Loved it!

Thank you so much for your kind review! We're thrilled to hear the apartment worked so well for your visit and that you enjoyed the location and space. It's great that you were able to cook dinner for everyone—sounds like a wonderful time! We'd love to have you back anytime.
Super cute residential area, with an adorable restaurant with craft cocktails that's super walkable only 2 blocks away. Someone a year or so ago in reviews had mentioned they felt unsafe and it almost made me not book but I'm glad I bypassed that review. The only way someone could not feel safe here is if they were raised in the Hamptoms for crying out loud! Neighbors sit on their porches and greet you when passing by. The only "bar" closeby is a local lbgtqb/nerd bar which I visited and it too has pretty excellent drinks and decent pub food- and STAR WARS memorabilia so I was in general love with the establishment. Stayed here for just over 2 weeks with my boyfriend and dog, and had everything I needed and more. I was able to work remotely using the wifi with no issues at all and the air conditioning was ON POINT which is important in the summer- kudos to the HVAC guy haha. The only small con was indeed that - as noted in the listing to be fair- you are going to hear your neighbors. I'd recommend bringing ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. 100% would rent again- thanks for having us!

We are so grateful for your honesty and understanding! We are also thrilled to have hosted you and glad you gave us a shot. Thank you for giving a nod to our transparency as well.
Everything was as advertised. Nice, cozy, and very clean. Older two-story home. Thin walls so lower level hears all loud noises from upstairs. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.
I came to Richmond for a personal retreat and to do some long-range planning for work. Rental was well appointed, conveniently located to many nearby amenities, and met my needs. It would have been perfect if it had been a stand-alone unit. I did not realize that there would be tenants above me and unfortunately, my first night had some pretty rowdy kids and adults. Will give James props for addressing this immediately once notified of inconvenience.

Thank you for your thoughtful review! We’re glad to hear that the apartment met your needs and was conveniently located near many amenities. We appreciate your understanding regarding the noise from the tenants above. We want to clarify that our listing notes in multiple areas that it is an apartment, and the home is located on the lower level of the house. We’re always here to address any concerns, and we’re happy that we could respond quickly to your feedback. Your experience is important to us, and we hope to welcome you back for another stay in the future!
Pros:
Communication- the property manager was extremely responsive leading up to our stay and after. He sent a few notes before hand explaining some local eateries and favorite nearby places. Emailed when we arrived to check on us and the night before to wish us safe travels.
Home- the home was well stocked and comfortable. There were even some kid friendly plates and cups that I thought was a nice touch.
Decor- The home was well decorated with a travel theme. I think it is relatively new and everything was clean and well done.
Security- There were security cameras in the front and the back, a lock key pad in the front and back.
Cons:
The location: Mom traveling solo with two little kids and I was very uncomfortable with the location. This is in no way the fault of the owner, the house has been flipped and done so well but the area was rough. I never had an issue but driving in upon arrival… I’m glad I did so in the daylight. The home is located in South Richmond and, as in most big cities, being near a downtown can be seedy. Again, I was traveling with two kids under 3 to see family so we did not need to be near bars or restaurants. If you’re a bachelor coming to be near restaurants and bars- this is the place for you! As a newer listing, there was not mention of the location in the other reviews so I was unaware that the location might be less than desirable as a single female with babies.
Thin walls: we could very easily here the neighbors in this duplex. However, I actually did not count this as a big con because it made me feel more secure confirming there were people right next door albeit I could hear most of their movements and tv at night.
Overall this is a nice property, and will probably be great for some travelers- just wasn’t the right for our family due to the location.

Emily, we truly thank you for your time and business with us. We appreciate any and all feedback, as we strive for all of our guests to experience amazing times at our properties. We're really sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the location of the property. We have never had a safety issue at this property (or any of our 40+ properties), as we would not be at the host status that we are at, if we supplied properties in unsafe locations for our dear guests. The city of Richmond is a very urban and diverse city with a ton of unique attributes. We suggest researching a little bit more on the area, if you have concerns about staying in an urban area or city. Regardless of traveling with children or not, most people tend to visit local restaurants while staying at our properties - it's a part of the experience, for most! Richmond has a TON of fun, neat and one-of-a-kind restaurants with unique experiences. The Richmond Region is home to more than 30 craft breweries, distilleries and cideries and hundreds of restaurants. We aim to provide all kinds of information that would appeal to any traveler - singles, couples, families, friends, etc. A lot of properties in Richmond are historic, therefore, there is the possibility of hearing your neighbors when staying in a duplex or apartment, as well as a first-floor apartment (that can go for any property, really); it just depends on how noisy the neighbors are. We're always here for you in the event a neighbor is ever too noisy, as we manage the upstairs property, as well, and are more than happy to communicate on your behalf to the other party. We sincerely appreciate and respect your opinion. It was a pleasure to host you and we hope we can host you again at another property of ours in the future. Take care!
This was such a cute little spot. Such a nice place for my son and I to land while he attended a football camp at Richmond. Property is about 20 minutes from Richmond and it is an easy drive. Cute neighborhood. It is decorated so nicely and it is very comfortable - we loved it. You can hear the neighbors a bit upstairs but it did not bother us much. We will be back :-)
