Overall would we stay again, yes.We had 9 people and had plenty of room.Driveway fit a king cab truck and car.Everything worked as it should.Very peacefull and a quick 10-15min drive to the parkway. The street that it is on is a steep hill but any vehicle could make it and take your time on streets around there, there is alot of sharp curves.
It was a great mountain cabin experience! We will talk about the steep drive up and down to the property for years to come, (our 2 wheel-drive suv handled it fine in the lovely weather) The linens were fresh, the kids loved the arcade toys, we loved the newer deck with the outdoor furniture and sauna. Sure, the hot tub and bathrooms could use an update but it was all part of a cabin experience.
By far, the best thing about this stay was how easy it was to communicate with the hosts. They were very responsive and helpful. The property was fine. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean, the air-conditioning worked, the TVs worked… The hot tub worked, though the lid did smell a little musty and the knobs were broken. The only thing that was a little off was the pictures were a little inaccurate as to how remote the property was. We all thought we were gonna be a little bit more out in the country, but we were definitely surrounded by houses. There was a picture of some water, but we could not access or see the water at all from our property. You had to walk down the hill and then enter somebody else’s private property to see the actual water. The house is very much in the trees, so no real views of the mountains from the house. Lots of privacy, though.
We had a great stay! Location is not far from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Cabin had everything we needed and kids loved the game room. Will definitely book again.
Loved staying here. Everything felt cozy and inviting. Excellent communication between the host to help and organize our free ticket per day of stay. That alone saves money. I definitely would stay here again if I'm coming back to the area.
I was looking for a space that would give the grandchildren something to do without being home all the time, and some fun family time. The pool table, Jacuzzi games for the kids, were perfect to keep us busy and we had a great time. Wish the sauna had been up and running, but maybe next time. Great family spot.

The property was lovely and the service was great. The hill leading to this property is very steep and very narrow. There is also limited parking. The decor is beautiful and the house is clean. Overall it was a really good stay.

So happy that you had a great stay please come back
We decided to do an early Christmas with family. The cabin was great and had all the amenities we needed. One thing we noticed was the “water” smelt like rotten eggs..Could be the area or the plumbing. We would definitely stay again

Hi Jennifer, thanks for the review. We recently noticed the sulfur smell with the hot water as well, and have taken care of the issue. Hope you stay with us again.
We enjoyed the cabin. It was a bit scary driving in the mountains especially at night with no lights but it was all part of the experience! Thanks for letting us enjoy your home! It was fun!

We love living in the Smoky Mountains but yes sometimes some of these roads up here can get a little scary at night but it is part of the experience of staying and living in the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains
The cabin was very nice, but the floors and showers could have been a little cleaner. We could not find the access to the fishing spot, but overall, we had a good time.

We are so happy to hear you had a really nice vacation at Hide A Way . I wish you had called me as I do live here in the Smoky Mountains I would have sent my cleaner in to clean the floors and shower .
I was hunting a cabin for a weekend. What I found was more than I thought. Easy listing, excellent cabin! 10 min drive outside pigeon forge. Also alot to do between the cabin and the main road!

I live here in Pigeon Forge and would love to have my guest call me with any maintenance issues that may arise .

Overall the stay was great! We really enjoyed it. The cabin was beautiful and clean and well maintained. The property manager was on top of responding back to questions and concerns. We were a little disappointed when we got there as we thought our cabin overlooked the pond and that swimming was included in the stay at the pool. Wasn't too bad tho as it was only $5 pp and the kids had a great time. The owner paid for a day of swimming for my son's birthday which was very nice of them. We had a blast. I'd definitely rent it again if we go back to Tennessee
Nice wood cabin. Beds were comfortable. Festive Christmas decor was nice. Maintenance needed. Many things did not work adequately and a few things were broken and run down. Spoke with owner who said he would be addressing issues promptly. Had one issue which he had fixed that day. Access to pond was difficult from the cabin
In general it was a nice property with a few issues—broken dining room chair; main level shower too hot to use( everyone used the one upstairs); broken trundle bed (top portion); parking very tight for 3 cars—pictures seemed to show more space. Otherwise everything was good
Great area, secure and safe. Many activities to engage in short distances away. Local convenience stores all around to purchase last minute necessities and food. Property was clean and tidy. Beds were comfortable. Game room was great for adults and children alike!! Enough linen and towels for family of 7. Also grill outside is awesome. Everything we needed was readily available! The only con, was the pool. There was a lovely pool just a 4 minute drive away, but we did not have access. Instwad we had to drive an extra 6 minutes to Bear Crossing to a smaller, crowded outdoor pool. Access to the Hidden Mountain Resort Pool would have been more convenient and they had umbrella tables for people who weren’t swimming to sit under. Hopefully a suggestion that will be considered in the future!
This was the worst VRBO experience I have ever had. When we arrived, the front door did not work, leaving us completely locked out of the property. I contacted the host immediately, but he did not respond for more than two hours. Because he failed to communicate, VRBO had no choice but to cancel the reservation.Only after the cancellation did the host finally reply. He eventually allowed us inside, but then demanded that we Zelle him additional money, which was more than the original booking cost, in order for us to stay. This felt like extortion and was incredibly unprofessional.During the brief time we were inside, we also noticed mold in the upstairs shower, which raised serious concerns about cleanliness and maintenance. This entire situation was stressful, unacceptable, and completely preventable. I strongly warn future guests to stay away from this property until the host improves communication, honesty, and basic upkeep.
Everything was perfect. Very roomy. Hot tub was great. Close to everywhere we wanted to go. Host was very easy to communicate with. Had trouble the 1st time Durham the door just had to pull it to you but no problems. Would definitely try to get this cabin if we come back to the area.
The check in and check out was very easy. Communication was also easy. There was not alot of yard space for the kids and dog but we made it work. Otherwise it was a great stay. Thank you for having us.
1> Hosts were great, very responsive, good communications.
2> Convenient location.
3> Good amenities, beautiful area.
4> Very quiet location.
5> Check in/out was easy.
6> Would definitely stay there again.
7> Everyone had a great time.

SMELLS OF DOG URINE AND DIRTY!
I would never stay at this cabin again! we walk in and there was a strong smell of animal urine, every time we walked in, I would light candles and spray the whole cabin with Lysol, there were no working remotes to the TVs, I had to go buy batteries, to only find out that there is no cable! you had to sign into your own account to watch on the one tv in the livingroom! Then I wake up the first morning there and go down to make coffee and my pajama pant got caught on a nail sticking out of the floor on the steps and I fell all the way down the steps! bruising both arms and hurting my shoulder! It says a non-smoking, but the toilet seat had a cigarette burn on it! the bedrooms are not private, you have to go through one bedroom to get to the other bedroom and then you have to go through a bedroom to get to the Gameroom. The cabin was very dusty, the floors were dirty, and I don't think the bedsheets were clean there was hair in 2 of the beds! I sent the owner a message and he never even ask how I was or if I'm ok, the only thing he said was Thanks for letting me know!

About the host

My husband and I love traveling, exploring new places, and visiting national parks. We love the smoky mountains and fell in love with this charming log cabin. We have two boys who are growing up to be just like mom and dad and love exploring the outdoors.
Why they chose this property
We chose Smoky Hideaway Cabin over other cabins in the area because we love the location- close to many attractions, the peace and quiet, and the privacy the cabin provides. It also has 3 king sized bedrooms that can accommodate a large group.
What makes this property unique
