Worse for Wear and Lack of Maintenance
50 years ago +, when this property was new it would have been beautiful. We loved the Alpine architecture. There are serious moisture issues and one look at the condition of the roof is the likely source. The carpet was wet at the inside of the front door and it never dried out during our stay, even though we only had one thunderstorm on the 3rd of 4 days, and ran dehumidifiers continuously. The property does not have air conditioning. Since most of the windows were non-functional, we couldn't enjoy cooling off with the night mountain air. The heat from the necessary dehumidifiers added to the discomfort. Kitchen and bathrooms are very dated, which isn't necessarily bad if they are maintained. This property needs a total overhaul!

Golf Vacation
Sassafras was a great place to stay! It was an excellent choice for a golf foursome as there were four bedrooms with Queen beds or larger! I'd stay there again. My only suggestion would be the bathrooms need some minor renovations.

The cabin itself has more than enough to enjoy a great stay for a weekend since it has a fire pit, grill and plenty of space for a large party. It's also just down the road from the slopes and snowtubing, not to mention the lodge amenities. Also outdoor plugs are available so you can charge your car (120V charging which is slow but better than nothing on a mountain) I highly recommend this cabin.
