The cabin seats on some great property. You can see the river and plenty of room for your dog to explore. Everything we did was just 15 minutes away. Clean cabin.
Me and my wife stayed there for our wedding. We were pleased and happy with our stay!! Most definitely checking on possibility of being able to use this cabin again!
Went for a quick weekend getaway with my family and it was everything I hoped for! Hands down would stay here again. It was such a charming property in the perfect location. The kitchen was well stocked with everything I needed to cook meals for my little crew, including skewers for s’mores over the fire pit. There’s a deck of cards that were perfect for teaching our daughter how to play rummy and the whole cabin was decorated like a museum so we were able to show our 10 yr old all of the “old timey” gadgets. The only thing that would have made it better was a bigger water heater and higher pressure in the shower…BUT that would not keep me from staying here again. Ms Gwen was a lovely host and was very responsive any time I had questions.
Our stay was amazing. We rented the house next door that has the guest house and this little cabin for a long weekend. My son got married at a local venue and we were able to have the rehearsal dinner at the house next door. We had the grooms family and all the groomsmen and their spouses stay with us. We all had a great time and a super comfortable stay!
Great place to stay for our spring break vacation!
This cabin was perfect for us over our spring break vacation. The location was great (just a few miles from everything we wanted to do) and it had everything we needed. It is only one bedroom but there was still plenty of room for Me, my husband, baby, two sisters, and three dogs.
The cabin was awesome! Exceeded our expectations. The chairs in the living room were so comfortable! Had everything we needed and even though there was a rv park across the street, with the trees it felt secluded and peaceful. Thank you for allowing us to stay there and we’ll definitely recommend it to others.
This place is not pet friendly! My husband and intended to stay for 3 nights and left early . When initially checking the place out we were shocked to see glue traps and rat poison containers hidden everywhere. We collected them all and placed them on top of the fridge so our pet would not get into them . On the second day returned from ourhike and found our pet covered in glue from the trap . We had to go to the store and pick up supplies and after a few hours we were finally able to get the glue off . Definitely not how we wanted to spend our vacation. There was rat/mouse poop in the utensil drawer as well as the dishes in the cupboard. There are HUGE long leg spiders in the cabin mostly in the bathroom . I understand we are in the woods we have rented multiple cabins and have never had a place have this many entry points . There are also spider webs alll over the ceiling which left us feeling very unsettled. Over all petit jean was very beautiful but the stay was so unpleasant we decided to go cut our tip short. Also wanted to mention few days before our trip we received a message with details about the area and instructions on how to get there . We were also told out check out time was 10 am instead of 11 (which is what was advertised) she claimed this so so they had time for the next guest and asked if we could run a load of laundry. We also received the code to the lockbox about 30 min late so we had to wait. The bed is also very small but as advertised.

I wish you would have let us know about this during your stay we would have tried to correct these issues. Check out is at 10:00am, however, we just took over these properties and are working on the app to reflect that.
We have had pest control come spray for the daddy long legs, and the issue is definitely better, but we will have them come again to handle this. I agree with you on the sticky pads and we will have those removed. Thank you for letting us know now about these issues and will immediately work on getting them resolved.
We rented this cabin for extra space when we had a small wedding at the Paw Paw tree estate and it was beautiful!! This cabin is adorable and provided the space we needed! It’s a short drive to the estate, it gives closeness to be with everyone but also a beautiful privacy as well! Loved it!
This was the perfect place for a weekend getaway. Close to all the things at Petit Jean Mountain. The cabin was clean and cozy and had all the necessities. The owners were very accommodating would definitely stay here again!
Warm and welcoming host.Beautiful location. We arrived late in the evening and the light of the cabin was on for us and a campfire was ready to be lite. We hope to return!
Me and my wife were looking for a nice weekend getaway. And found Gwen and Bear’s Cabin listed. The Cabin is right down the mountain from Petit Jean State Park. Which was exactly what we were looking for! The privacy of the cabin and the woods and small stream next to the cabin were also great! All around was an awesome experience and we will definitely be booking again!
Loved this place! Great decks! The dogs loved it! Walking down to fish was farther than expected. Hot is cold and cold is hot in the shower. Short drive to the park. Sitting around the fire pit at night you can really hear all those coyotes!
It was nice except for a few things. The smoke detector went off and we replaced the battery. There was quite a bit of dust. Other than that, everything was fine.
The property looks exactly like the pictures. Cozy, cute, clean- all the things. The property it sits on is absolutely beautiful. The only reason I gave it 4 stars on location and neighborhood was because I could see another property from the porch; but the other property was nice. The host is the very best! She was out of town and we wanted to check in early so she worked to make that happen. This property comes highly recommended.
We had the best two night stay at this property with our daughter and our nephew and dogs. Plenty of space to roam and hike around. Close by the state park so we were able to get out and enjoy what it had to offer as well. Loved the private area. Super cute cabin with all the things you need. It's a little tight so I wouldn't bring more that 4 people..maybe one more little person..ha. Just the one bedroom and daybed in the living area. Two cots were available and we used one. It was perfect. Jut a couple places to sit in the living area and dining area so keeping it smaller here is better. It was super great for us because we were really there for just the evenings. We would stay here again.
I cannot believe people can get away with renting out their places like they do and saying misleading things about it. Your view is a trailer park, not one you rent but where people live, the fishing dock was a rough step driveway with thickets that was no place to fish, the cabin was dirty, the shower door leaked creating a deep puddles of water and a big mess, no foil, no strainer, things needed to start cooking were not there. There is a decent screened in porch but no door. 2 torn up broken bag chairs is what you get by the fireplace. The twin beds were rusted and the mattress was worn and thin as a pancake, no way even a kid could sleep on and get any sleep. There is more but that’s enough. Please don’t be deceived.
