Recently renovated in September 2024 with a new kitchen and hardwood floors! Nestled in the cozy and quiet Hale Moi complex in Princeville, our spacious one-bedroom condo is perfect to serve as your home base as you explore the awe-inspiring beauty of the North Shore (and beyond) of Kauai. The condo is less than a 5 minute walk to multiple beaches and the newly opened restaurants and spa at the 1Hotel Hanalei.

The View

The view from our condo is a spectacular showcase of the unspoiled beauty of Kauai. Off the lanai to the right, take in a breathtaking view of Makana Mountain, the oceanside mountain peak made famous as Bali Hai in the movie South Pacific. Enjoy sunsets right on the lanai as the evening sky comes alive with a kaleidoscope of tropical color. Looking directly off the lanai (or from the inside of the studio) is a lush, tropical greenbelt (alive with birds chirping in the morning) and the Namolokama mountain range. After rain showers, you can see one, two, or even dozens of cascading waterfalls. Experience it all without leaving your condo!

The Accommodations

Our condo is a corner, second-floor unit (up only 6 steps) with vaulted ceilings, a 25-foot-long lanai, beach gear and everything to make your stay cozy and comfortable. One of the best things about our complex, Hale Moi, is it is small and low-key - our building has just four condos. The condo has a king bed, queen bed in the loft, full kitchen, and washer/dryer. It has a Serta plush top mattress, high end linen sheets (including comforters), a 32' flat panel smart TV, free WiFi, and all kitchen accessories. It is light and airy with windows galore, breathtaking views and has a tremendous nature-y feel to it.

A/C & Heat

The suite has a quiet and efficient AC and heating system - It never hurts to have A/C, as Kauai is guaranteed to get hot and humid in summer, but also at any time of year. And if you're coming in winter, it's nice to have heat - overnight lows on Kauai can dip near 60 degrees.

The Location

Our condo is special for many reasons and a major one is location. Hale Moi is in one of the only areas in Princeville where you have beach access within walking distance. Two beaches are within a ten minute walk, with the closest being Pu'u Po'a beach in front of the newly renovated 1 Hotel. Right outside the front door is the scenic jog/walk/bike path that runs through Princeville, and across the street is a famous sunset viewing spot (Voted one of the 10 ten sunset viewing locations by Traveler Magazine), which is also great for whale watching if you’re with us during the season (Nov-April). Gorgeous Hanalei Bay is a 10 minute drive and for hikers, several trails are within reach, including the Okolehao trail in Hanalei and the infamous Kalalau Trail. If golf is your thing, the Makai golf course (recently renovated) is a half-mile away. For an easy dinner out, Hideaways Pizza Pub is a 5 minute walk. Princeville Center is a 5 minute drive and has a grocery store, coffee shop, yoga studios, shopping, and more.

Beautiful loft!

I had a lovely stay in the loft. Great location, walked to the Hideaway beach each day. The view from the balcony was incredible! Sat out there day and night. Very relaxing spot

Great stay here. Bed was quite comfortable, place was very clean, and so nice to wake up to hear birds in the trees that overlook the hills. Also a really nice location, close to Hanalei and short drive to several beaches.

Wonderful Stay!

Our stay was perfect. The loft was easy to find, had clean accommodations, it was stocked with everything needed, and had stunning views. The owner is clearly knowledgeable, cares for the environment, and encourages guests to do the same. We enjoyed being able to walk to the beach and restaurants. Would absolutely book again when we return to Kauai!

Fantastic condo

Loved the area and the condo! The balcony was great to sit out on and watch the birds and rainbows! We were able to walk to Queens Bath which was amazing ( slippery at the start) but worth it. The sunrise lookout was also great and we went for lunch at Hanelei Bay Resort too. We stayed four nights which was perfect as we had stayed four nights in Poipu. Would definitely recommend this place.

This condo is everything that you need for the perfect stay on the North Shore! It was very clean, well stocked, and the beach gear was useful. The view was amazing of the mountains and waterfalls. The birds were a delight to listen to with their beautiful songs. The hosts were quick to respond and friendly. Will definitely be planning another stay here in the future!

Lovely condo with view of trees, birds, and mountains

We had a wonderful time in this condo in Princeville. It was exactly as advertised, including the lanai overlooking dense trees full of birds with mountains in the distance. It was fully equipped and the king bed in the main room was quite comfortable. (We didn't use the loft.) There was an ocean overlook a short walk down the road and a pizza place a short walk across the road. Princeville has a good grocery store and it's a short drive to Hanalei and points west along the coast. Convenient and beautiful - we loved it!

Beautiful views & Well Stocked Supplies

We thoroughly enjoyed this condo for many reasons. The location was safe and within a lovely community. The lanai is long, has amazing views and fun animal visitors to see and photograph! Daniel generously provides snorkeling gear, beach chairs, towels and coolers. In addition, there are multiple sauces, spices and even plastic Ziploc bags of various sizes which were are greatly appreciated! We loved the lavender shampoo/conditioner & body lotion! Check in was easy and flawless! We highly recommend this condo! Mahalo Daniel!

Love this spot!

We had such an amazing stay at this location - it was cozy and modern and had everything we needed and more! The apartment has actually been remodeled, and as of this review (Sept 2024) looks even nicer than the pictures. The location is awesome and we will remember mornings and evenings at the balcony for a long time. Here are some things I wondered about before our stay: -Oil, salt, and other spices were available -The kitchen is fully stocked, including tupperware and ziploc bags -There's plenty of shampoo, conditioner, and soap -There's a drip coffee machine and there was a couple of day's worth of coffee provided -Laundry pods were provided for 2 loads -Beach gear included several nice Tommy Bahamas chairs and an umbrella -There are 2 snorkeling sets, although if you are planning on snorkeling a lot, I would bring/purchase my own Definitely recommend staying here!

Condo with beautiful views in perfect location!

The condo is in a perfect location and the views from the lanai are incredible! We loved that we were in close proximity to all that the north shore has to offer & the beautiful walking trails around the golf course. Daniel was prompt in his responses and communication. Overall, the condo was neat & presentable, however, there was visible dust on ceiling fans, doors, etc. which was unfortunate as I am highly sensitive to dust. A good deep cleaning of the condo would make it the perfect place to stay.

Like staying in a treehouse

This condo was perfectly located in Princeville. Quick walk down the street takes you to two different beaches (one requires a steep cliff side climb up and down but totally worth it); access to miles of paved walking paths around the golf courses; and a perfect sunset viewing spot looking over Hanalei Bay. The recent addition of air conditioning is a nice extra not always found in Kaua’i condos but not necessary when you open up the windows in both sides of the condo to catch the trade winds. We enjoyed our week’s stay. Daniel was very responsive to any questions we had. We’d love to co e back soon!

Great spot in Princeville

Perfectly situated, great spot to use. The lofted portion has very steep stairs, so be mindful in assigning beds, but overall a beautiful stay closely located near Hanalei Bay, Tunnels Beach, Anini Beach, and plenty of other great spots. Nice bathroom with fully stocked shower products, beach and bath towels, extra bed linen, and great shower, especially to get the sand off at the end of the day! Bathroom door doesn’t lock (not a big deal). The kitchen had every appliance and item you could need, including washer/dryer for particularly muddy clothes from hiking, plus beach chairs, snorkeling gear, and cooler bag available for use. The balcony was a perfect spot to start our mornings- incredibly gorgeous views of the trees! Parking- one thing to be mindful is that you’re actually sharing the spot with another unit (208A and 208B). We always managed to either use 208, a free permit spot, or under the lamppost, so it wasn’t a problem and we were always a few feet from the front entrance. Overall, we had a really wonderful time here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and convenient spot in Princeville!

The condo was perfect for us and our son lived the loft. Incredible view from balcony and lots of extras for beach-going and cooking. Steep stairs just down the road will take you to a beautiful secluded beach. Short drive to town full of character and slow vibes. Sorry drive to other great beaches.

Fell in love

This little bungalow was one of my fav spots I’ve ever stayed. It was so cute and well stocked, and the location was epic. First time in Princeville and this stay made it so special. I fell in love with this quaint, drop-dead gorgeous town. A short walk to Hideaway Beach (I’m dreaming of going back to snorkel) and a handful of amazing restaurants and bars. I felt so at home in the unit- I could move in :) The view on the back lanai is so relaxing - watch the morning rain roll in or a beautiful sunset. 10/10 stay! Thank you!

Why they chose this property

Before we lived on Kauai we were obsessed with visiting here and came almost every chance we had to go on vacation. We often stayed in Princeville because it's the most affordable way to experience Kauai's North Shore (just a short drive from Hanalei) and a great home base to explore the rest of the island.

What makes this property unique

Hale Moi is truly a hidden gem in Princeville! Most of the condo complexes aren't walking distance from anything to do outside -- which is the reason you come to Kauai! From our condo, you can cruise just across the road to a beautiful spot where locals watch the sunset (and whales during the season), walk 5 minutes down the road to TWO beaches at the tip of Hanalei Bay, or simply enjoy the gorgeous mountain views from your own lanai. If you want to go out to eat without driving, Hideaways Pizza Pub is right across the street.
