Green Farm is a historic lakefront mansion with a private dock located in Lakewood, NY on the shores of Chautauqua Lake. This nearly 10,000 square foot 8 bedroom home was built by millionaire banking and tobacco heir Paul Sorg in 1906. It has been lovingly renovated while keeping its historic character. Every room has unique features that could never be recreated today, featuring hand-carved moldings depicting characters from Geoffrey Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, the original ice chest and a stunning bridal staircase. Green Farm was the personal home of Sorg and his wife until her death in 1929, it was then converted to an exclusive tea room that even remained operational during World War II. Green Farm is now a year-round vacation home where travelers enjoy the beautiful home, the Chautauqua Lake dock exclusive to Green Farm, the famed Chautauqua Institution, walking distance restaurants, coffee shop, park, tennis, and all that the greater Chautauqua area has to offer. Homeschool Mom's Retreat

We had a wonderful weekend at this mansion! Absolutely stunning inside...love the space and layout of the house. Lots of space to spread out as well as space to come together for large group activities. Owner was quick to respond to communication/questions and to make things right when there was an issue. The private dock was very challenging to get to when bringing our kayaks (no easy access) and I wouldn't consider this house to be lakefront since there is a road and a large park between the house and the water. Some of us enjoyed that the house was in town and could walk to shops (coffee, books, etc). Overall we had a great weekend getaway and would totally come again! Thank you!
