No lifeguards - please swim at your own risk in the large cove “no wake zone.”
All drivers of a motorized watercraft must have a Virginia Boater Safety License/ or boating license. For added convenience, there's also a common area available for boat launch which is available to renters located at the end of the street.
All fishing requires a Virginia Fishing License unless you fish from the boat house.

We had a great stay at Sunrise Barn! The location and view is spectacular. We enjoyed the slide, kayaking, paddle boarding, s’mores at the firepit, and dinner outside. Our small dog loved the large yard. Definitely recommend!

Great stay at the lake!

Great house for 1-2 families. Great location. Dock, slide and water is the highlight. Ideal spot to rent a pontoon boat for the day. Hosts were communicative and friendly. We hope to be back!

We had a wonderful time! The location is great, very quiet and relaxing. Even though it was a bit chilly being March we still did a lot of fishing and kayaking, and had smores by the firepit! Wonderful view from the house and dog friendly :) !

We really enjoyed the property. Great location in a quiet neighborhood. House felt very clean and had everything we could have wanted. The private dock was our favorite, covered area and sun deck made it easy to be out all day. Our kids enjoyed the paddle board, kayaks and water slide. Hosts were great and very responsive before and during our stay.

Slice of Heaven!

Our stay at the Sunrise Barn exceeded our expectations! The house was a perfect size for our group of eight. We spent hours swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, and having fun on the water slide. The owners thought of everything you may ever need and more while staying at the lake. We can't wait to return to this slice of heaven!

This is an adorable property. The view is unspeakable gorgeous. The property is very well equipped with kayaks(many), a canoe, paddle boat, life vests, and slide outside. Inside the kitchen was well stocked including a keurig with coffee! (Thank you!). The inside was very clean. There were lots of games and cornhole for fun. The outdoor area could have used a once over. Cobwebs and spiders had claimed the deckhouse, slide, and ladder to the water. I know it’s nature outside but we have stayed at Lake Anna before and this was excessive. An occasional outdoor wipe down would have been nice. (We have a very spider-phobic daughter). .

First floor bedroom was needed and nice . All other bedrooms were up a spiral staircase which could have been a problem. Needed a fireplace for non-summer stay.

Great lake weekend

We had a great long weekend at Sunrise Barn! We had mechanical issues that disabled our boat the first evening, but our weekend was saved by all of the amazing amenities at the house. We never turned the TV on the whole weekend. The amazing covered dock and deck and all of the provided water toys and swim area kept us very busy. The kids had a great time on the water slide! Great location on a quiet cove. The hosts were very responsive and friendly, and the home was very clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful Getaway

Our family thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Sunrise Barn for this past long weekend. The home has been recently updated and was perfect for our family. The home was clean and inviting, and the hosts were extremely gracious and responsive to any questions. Check in process was a breeze with the door code sent well in advance of arrival. There is ample outdoor seating, including a nice big firepit area by the shore — including lots of firewood and kindling ready to use. The dock is brand new and includes a storage room stocked with life vests and paddles for the watercraft (stand up paddle board, paddle boat, kayaks and canoe). Our young kids were thrilled with the fishing, boating and swimming, and two hammocks. We will definitely return!

Hot house, very hot. Had to leave after 1 night.

Checked in and immediately noticed the house was warm and then found multiple fans plugged in every room. Contacted home owner and she assured everything was fine and it’s just because it’s hot outside. When we went to bed at 10:30 the house temp had risen to 78 downstairs and over 80 upstairs. It was so hot in the house none of us could sleep including our 16 month old. Our booking was Monday-Friday and contacted the owner again and she assured no other guests have ever complained and she AC was fine. I find this hard to believe considering the amount of fans in the house. Ended up only staying 1 night and asked for a refund for the remaining nights and cancelled our vacation. Little did I know I would not be refunded taxes and fee’s so since I wanted to be considerate vs asking for a full refund I’m out 1380. The owner also claims the dirt, and bugs were on us for leaving doors open which we certainly did not do. I would have not written this review if the outcome was different and both sides agreed to at least refund me the tax and other garbage fees but here we are. Photos attached of some of the cleanliness issues downstairs, didn’t bother with upstairs. Was also blood in fridge from previous guests meat that was not cleaned so we cleaned that ourselves.

We are a family of five (including our fur baby) and live in VA. Our family has owned this property at the lake for more than10 years. We love the peaceful setting, the nature around it, and most importantly the beautiful sunrises. We have created so many family memories with our children, friends and relatives. During the pandemic the lake house became our safe haven. We know how important it is to get away and re-connect with ourselves and nature and we wanted to share this experience with others.

Why they chose this property

This is a secluded neighborhood in the public side of the lake and we enjoy the convenience of not having to travel so far to enjoy the area and so many amenities around the lake. We also love the amazing natural views this place offers along with great neighbors.

What makes this property unique

You will love the privacy of the location and all the nature that surrounds it that helps creates a great experience during your stay. The vast and large front lawn with quick and easy access to the lake (not climbing a thousand steps or coming down/up a steep hill) and the amazing lake views from the house. The large no wake cove area offers endless time at the water with family and friends.
