The views and location were excellent. The bed was comfortable and clean. The water pressure was really good. The place needed repairs, blinds broken and falling off.. parking for my unit not labeled. The host who lives out of state was very responsive, excellent communication

The ceiling fans was very dirty and we opted not to cook there. Definitely 100 year old house. Terrible parking.
We spent the weekend here for a short vacation away from the kids, this place was perfect, practically had nearly a quarter mile of the beach to ourselves the entire time, tons or beach stuff available to use, the house was cozy, nice restaurants near by, the backyard is all sand now unlike to pictures which gives you the feel that you are actually on the beach itself, slept great with the sound of waves in your ears. We can't wait to go back to this place with our whole family.
Charming old property right on the beach. Needs a lot of TLC. We had several days of hot water tank problems. Hence our level of disatisfaction.

Replaced 4 year old Rheem Gas hot water heater immediately. Rheem replaced under warranty citing quality issues for units built during COVID. Sorry this happened,
Is the place on the beach yes. Are the owners responsive yes! We met one of the owners (wife) and I chatted with her husband via texts. Both were very friendly. Do the rooms need updated sure. However, we loved that it was not a huge mega condo complex and the beach access was unprecedented. It was just what we needed the two of us. We plan to make a return visit one day. Thank you for keeping the place with an old world vibe.

About the host
Hosted by Curtis Wes Westphal
I grew up here living with my grandparents. They bought Sun N Fun for $28,000 in 1968, My wife Kathy and I bought it from them for $335,000 in 1998 so they could retire. As Tampa grew the rich and famous have discovered our unique Gulf to Bay location on the island. Sending property values soaring and with that a $43,000 property tax bill. Stay here and know you are helping to save these treasures from Old Florida.
Why they chose this property
Boyhood home. Good memories of sun, sand, and surf. Indian Rocks Beach is a small seaside community with good restaurants, vacation rentals from the 1920's and a vibe that brings you back year after year.
What makes this property unique
Florida Gulf Coast beachfront rentals at Grandma’s island beach house from the summer of 1925. The large home and carriage house are now converted into 6 Gulf front villas featuring full kitchens, pillow top beds, and fantastic views. Awarded one of the highest scores on the beach by Superior Small Lodging. Kids love an old place surrounded by water. We are small and personable. Gulf of Mexico and private white sand beach are right out your door. Wade out to the shallow sandbar to explore for shells and sand dollars. Or walk across the street to watch the yachts go by and fish in the bay. Old Timers call this part of the island "The Narrows" where the sand is just wide enough for a single row of homes.
