The location was excellent for the things that we wanted to see. The renovated location we were in was kind of odd, but the inside was very nice. Looks like they’re still in the process of renovating. overall, it was very nice.
Everything was good. The place could just use some TLC. The floor in the bathroom is all peeling up & some of trim is not nailed in place. It looks like they started to paint all the concrete floors, but ran out of paint & used whatever other paint they had leftovers of. No air conditioning & bedroom can get very warm. Overall very nice, just a few things changes could really make this outstanding.
Back @ The Black Pearl This was our 2nd stay at this property & we enjoyed it just as much as the 1st time.Comfortable, clean & well appointed. Cozy, too!Host is gracious & quick to respond. We’ll be back (again)!

Bedroom patio door won't lock! Safety issue! Not one plug in in the bathroom. Old steel building poorly remodeled into apartments. Poor workmanship!

Two electric fireplaces were touted as available, however the only one that worked was in the bedroom. The big room fireplace did not start so it was very cool this last evening and this morning. Several receptacles did not work. (bedroom) The floor in the bathroom which consisted of stuck down paper thin probably vinyl were coming loose and presented a tripping hazard. Plus they were very unsightly. The place was clean, just needed lots of attention to updating and making sure everything worked. It has the potential to be a nice place to stay if the owner/host paid a little attention to making it comfortable and assurance everything worked. As it was last evening, it was not worth the price we paid for this overnight.
The pictures do not do this poperty justice. It was a suprise to walk in to this sophisticated relaxing setting. It was perfect after a day of hiking at Tahquamenon Falls.
Property was amazing, had all the necessities we needed, a home away from home :) Property owners were very pleasant. We drove 6 hours to see the falls and definitely would come stay here again. Thank you for making our trip comfortable.
We enjoyed our stay, we were close to everything we wanted to see. The place was nice and clean and had everything we needed. We were able to cook out on the grill and have a campfire. Thank you for your hospitality!
We truly enjoyed our time at the Black Pearl. The space is comfortable & stylish. The extra touches were lovely (even the scents of the hand soaps & reed diffuser were to our taste!) & we felt right at home. It’s well equipped overall. Highly recommend!
Located conveniently close to the falls. The room was large and very clean. From the first seconds my wife and I stepped into it we immediately stated we would stay there again no question. The property offered everything we would need and two smart TV’s with decent internet
Our room at the Black Pearl was nice and we enjoyed our stay. It was clean and quaint with a well stocked kitchen. It was close to the activities we wanted to do - The Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum and Tahquamenon Falls. There was also a great restaurant just down the street. We had some issues getting to the right channel to watch our favorite football, but the owner was very responsive to our questions.
